Take this however you will. Got it from GameFAQs. I honestly would have pegged Phoenix as a power character. Yeah, when you think "Power Character", you think of the fatty or muscluar giant characters (your Zangiefs, your Donkey Kongs...), but she is the most powerful, most damaging character in the game. Still, I can see her as being "technical" (the approach you have to take playing her, her Ressurection...)

Also, Arthur really should be grouped with Technical. M.O.D.O.K. and Dormmamu have similar "keep away with tons of projectiles...OHH NOES! THE OPPONENT GOT THRU! RETREAT" playstyles.

The only reason they feel alike to you most likely is because they use claws (even if those are different t0o. She has two hand claws and two toe claws), and the fact that storyline wise they are connected.

They are nowhere near feel alike otherwise as Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Other Street Fighter Shotos.

She-Hulk plays more like an odd mix of El Fuerte and R. Mika than she does Hulk.

X-23 feels more like a mix of Vega, Cammy, and Juri than she does a clone of Wolverine.

Ryu and Akuma are fairly simular and the closest thing to clones in the game.

So apparently my first team I'll play out of the box has 2 powers and 1 speed. Hmm.

Its a bit sketchy, that list.

For instance, Morrigan is as "generic" as Ryu; hardly "Technical".

Morrigan didn't need a fancy new LV3 Hyper Combo for MvC3...she had one for the longest.

The long forgotten secret LV3 from MvC...

I'm not taking story as a subject here. Trish and Dante come from the same franchise and both share demonic powers, but one doesn't remind me of the other.
It's because of the claw based attacks and the speed. They're similar. It feels like one was based on the other, as it must be. But I don't get the same feeling watching She-Hulk, for example.

My grip is with saying they have almost nothing in common.
It's like comparing Zero with Hulk, which are different in pratically all standards.

X-23, Akuma, and She-Hulk have almost zero in common with Ryu, Wolverine, and Hulk.

I agree. I was referring to Seth's reason for not having some characters. Since you missed the original quote here it is.

When you look at characters like Ghost Rider, and Iron Fist, and Black Panther, those are great characters but it's the backstory that makes them. From a gameplay point of view they're all just punchy dudes. We didn't want you to be able to say, 'this guy is just another one of this guy but a little faster or with a different fireball'. So that was the final pass" that Capcom took off the Marvel list.

If no one at Capcom could make Ghost Rider no more than a "punchy dude" then they seriously lack imagination nor read enough comics featuring Ghost Rider. I mean there is the whole chain whip possibility, plus perhaps a call in for his motorcycle (like how Sentinel calls in mini-sentinels) or have a few grapples centered around the chain plus Penance stare.

The thing is Capcom keeps coming up with reasons they didn't use certain characters that in actuallity boils down to two things: Marvel said no or Capcom just didn't want to use them.

I wouldn't take everything they say at face value.

As it stands, I've watched a few videos of Arthur and it seems he is going to be an absolute blast to play (very projectile heavy) but will be annoying as heck to play against.

Who is getting this for 360 and who is getting this for PS3? I'm going PS3.

360.

And on another note they should just stop with the character inclusion and exclusion interviews, because even if they don't intend to they're contradicting themselves and causing more rage.

definatley getting this for my brand new ps3!!!

i was just thinking how fun an arthur, zero and viewtiful joe team would be! the small bruisers :p

I would also love to play Edit!

When did they announce him?

360.

The reasons behind the exclusions, with the exception of Fantastic 4, have been ridiculous, indeed. They should just stop.

Give them some slack for Cyclops, Gambit, and Venom too, as they were Marvel refusing to budge on them.

"Well, we didn't put Banshee in the game because nobody likes gingers."

and they didnt put dimitri and bison in because apparently they dont like awesome bad ass boss characters :p

Bison was left out out of respect for Raul Julia, may he rest in peace.
