Ann Margret , total fox, wish her prime was now.

Margret was just, wow, in her prime.:word:.
She was also the inspiration for Mary Jane, so it seemed appropriate.

Jack Palance as GG would have been amazing to see.
I got the picture from a 1968 performance of Jekyll and Hyde, which also seems to fit his character.

After the critical success of 2006’s Children of Men, Marvel Studios and Universal tap Alfonso Cuarón to direct The Incredible Hulk and provide additional rewrite to Zak Penn’s original script for a Summer 2008 release:

A cure is in reach for the world's most primal force of fury…

Bruce Banner lives in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote to the monster lurking within him after surviving a deadly gamma radiation accident. But those who dream of abusing his power won't leave him alone nor will his need to be with the woman he loves, Betty Ross. Upon returning to civilization, the brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination— a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match his own. A fight of monstrous proportion ensues as Bruce must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction and become…

Mark Ruffalo, 41
Dr. Betty Ross: Rachel Weisz, 38

ADDITIONAL
Roger Harrington (pizza student): Martin Starr, 26
Major Glen Talbot: Adrian Pasdar, 43

ADDITIONAL CHANGES TO THE ORIGINAL
The film is no longer mandated to be under 2 hours, allowing the story and characters more time to develop.

Visual effects by Industrial Lights & Magic (ILM).

Music by John Powell (The Bourne Trilogy, X-Men: The Last Stand, United 93, and Happy Feet)

Fresh off his 2006 Oscar nomination for Children of Men, Alfonso Cuarón’s script rewrite retains a majority of Zak Penn’s original plot and story but punches up the dialogue to further explore the human drama between characters like Bruce and Betty, and her new boyfriend Leonard Samson who goes by the nickname ‘Doc’.

0ed5c1ca00112e36e9da07e0755ea98a.gif

Cuarón’s visual style and aptitude for dramatic action, particularly with big budget CGI as in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, further enhance the final film.

Instead of a montage origin sequence to open the film, we instead see the fateful gamma experiment that first transforms Banner into Hulk. Betty Ross is present along with her father General Thaddeus Ross and Glen Talbot (minor Easter Egg cameo for fans).
  • Talbot’s story & character can be explored in later sequels or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Pasdar was appearing on NBC Universal’s Heroes at the time, a great opportunity for cross-media synergy).
After the moody and atmospheric opening—SMASH CUT to an opening credits sequence covering the next five years with Banner on the run from General Ross and S.H.I.E.L.D. using a variety of footage, newspaper clips, redacted security files, etc.

Nick Fury replaces General Greller (Peter Mensah) as the one who introduces General Ross to Emil Blonsky, a Russian S.H.I.E.L.D. assassin. As such, General Greller doesn’t appear in the film.

intro-1584728386.jpg

Fury tasks Maria Hill to be his eyes and ears on Ross & Blonsky and report back any progress on the hunt for the Hulk. She essentially replaces Ross’s assistant Major Kathleen Sparr from the original film, providing exposition, etc.

morena-baccarin-taylor-schilling-and-more-up-for-d_mwwu.1280.jpg

The ‘Days Without Incident’ visual gag is showcased as tally marks in Banner’s private journal. After he buys new clothes in Guatemala following the bottle factory incident, he picks up a new journal too and writes his first tally.

Hulk doesn’t talk during the bottle factory incident to add to the horror-like imagery as he’s shrouded in shadow and mystery when Blonsky first encounters him. But he roars “Hulk Smash!” once he transforms at the Culver University battle, and his speech evolves throughout the remainder of the film as Banner accepts his alter ego from basic ‘Hulk strongest there is,” etc. to something more akin to Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes by his final confrontation with Blonsky in Harlem.

1670a6734f277ee9c87888e0b272a56dd56fe7b5.gifv

  • We need to connect with the Hulk as a character—especially during large CGI action sequences, fun Hulk-isms & personality through dialogue will endear us to him with laughter and cheers.
S.H.I.E.L.D. plays a large role in initially aiding General Ross capture Banner. When Fury learns Blonsky has taken the super soldier serum, he becomes suspicious of Ross and turns to Banner in Act III to save New York City.

Hulk-18-600x338.jpg

  • Ultimately, Fury doesn’t have the proof to implicate Ross in Blonsky’s actions as the Abomination so he’s still able to ascend to Secretary of State by the time of Captain America: Civil War.
Emil Blonky’s final form as the Abomination is more comic-accurate like his recent Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings cameo.

tim-roth-talks-about-reprising-his-role-as-abomination-in-marvels-she-hulk-series.jpg

Tony Stark still has a cameo appearance but rather than occurring at a dive bar, the scene begins amidst a press conference event as the billionaire philanthropist vows to help rebuild a devastated Harlem. Tony remarks loving New York and thinking of moving here, hinting at the future Stark Tower in The Avengers.
  • Stark jokes with Ross on stage (namedropping the iconic ‘Thunderbolt’ nickname) as he glad-hands gathered politicians and military officials amongst camera flashes—think the end of Iron Man 2 with Gary Shandling’s Senator Stern.
The final shot of the film is Bruce Banner, isolated in a cabin in the Canadian wilderness, looking into the camera as his eyes flare green.

Inspired by fanfare around Spider-Man right now with the release of No Way Home, here’s a What-If had the Marvel / Sony deal not happened and Sony continued its plans for a Sinister Six film in 2016 directed by Drew Goddard and a 2018 follow-up to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014):

After a disappointing performance of TASM2, Sony turns to Drew Goddard to co-write and direct the third installment of the Spider-Man franchise with both Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan set to return as the titular hero and Harry Osborn, respectively:

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 (2018)
dir. Drew Goddard

spider-man-on-phone.gif

The film focuses on Peter Parker dealing with his grief after Gwen Stacy’s death, guided in part by his Aunt May and new friends Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales. As he struggles against the darkness in his life, Peter bonds with a mysterious alien symbiote and battles against the villainous Sinister Six. But life gets really complicated when Gwen, alive, walks back into Peter’s life…

In Act III, Norman Osborn is also revealed to still be alive, pulling the strings behind the greatest mysteries of the TASM franchise as the “Master Planner”: the secret of Peter’s origin as Spider-Man and his parents’ role, the Sinister Six’s formation, and, most recently, the clones walking around (including Gwen Stacy, and Richard Parker to further torment Peter), etc.

Osborn transforms into a Goblin creature like the Ultimate comics and the symbiote returns, now bonded with a deranged Harry Osborn—“We are Venom…”

In the midst of this finale battle, it’s fanfare-galore in a free-for-all against all these colliding super characters: Spider-Man vs. Venom, Spider-Man vs. Goblin, villains fighting villains like Doc Ock vs. Goblin, etc. Amidst the chaos, it’s revealed that the Gwen clone has her own spider powers and, in the end, she’s the sole surviving clone—able to walk off into the sunset, available to star in her own spin-off films.

The movie would have been bombastic and over-the-top, in spirit with the Sony TASM movies as they were. But with the right script and the right director, together with another solid performance from Andrew Garfield to anchor it all, a truly bonkers story like this could have been told, and told well. And it would have served to launch and continue numerous spin-offs for Sony’s shared universe too including Venom, Sinister Six, and Spider-Gwen. And a newly-introduced Miles Morales in a supporting role as a volunteer at FEAST where Aunt May works sets the stage for the future generation of Spider-Man for when Sony wants to create a live-action Spider-Men film for the passing-of-the-torch from Parker to Morales.

As much I want to see Daredevil as the primary MCU team-up with Spider-Man, I think Sony & Marvel May opt for a more proven box-office hit with Shang-Chi.

Just think of a gang fight in Chinatown with Spider-Man, Daredevil, Shang-Chi, and Black Cat against assorted Kingpin and Mr. Negative goons. Now is a good as time as any to reintroduce The Hand.

Based on the exciting characters created by Stan Lee in Marvel Magazines...

THE UNCANNY X MEN : The Telefilm(1979)
Director: Tobe Hooper
Airdate : September 22, 1979
Studio: Universal Studios

aprrossAR0225DL.jpg

Project History: In the midst of hit series such as Wonder Woman, The Incrediable Hulk, and The Amazing Spiderman, CBS wants to capitalize on the superhero tv craze with a lesser known Marvel property The X Men. The hope is that a 2 hour teleplay will eventually lead to a weekly tv series, provided the show's budget makes the series profitable .
In the Spring of 1978, casting and production begins on the film slash Pilot Episode entitled, "The Uncanny X Men.

The project is set to film almost exclusively at Universal Studios in Los Angeles California with a Beverly Hills mansion doubling for Xavier's School in Westcester New York.. It is decide to compose the X men and Brotherhood team of mostly recent members and to characters who's effects could be acheived on a television Budget.
Should the pilot perform well, the series would intend to introduce other characters in the X Men canon.

The cast is made up of current Television stars, veterans, and unknowns , while Stan Lee serves as a creative consultant. The pilot focuses on Wolverine's introduction into the struggle between Xavier , who's attempting to build a bridge with humanity and Magneto who feels Mutants are destined to rule the planet. In a typical cold war era plot, The Brotherhood has plans to steal nuclear Bomb, and only the X men can stop them.

The telefilm airs in the fall of 1979, and do to it's popularity, a sequel , The Return of The X Men, goes into production and airs in 1981.

I would see Patrick Duffy more as Cyclops, nice, non-threateningly buff, even pretty sweet.

I actually had him as Cyclops in a previous X Men casting in this thread somewhere last year.
Though, I think he could have made an interesting version of Wolverine, though I would concede it i'd have a hard time seeing him as the Wolverine of The X Men 90s cartoon or the comics.

I think Duffy would have probably been more of a stoic, loner type, much like an old western cowboy who says few words, as opposed to the rage filled and bitter version Wolverine .
Much like his Bobby Ewing character, I could see his Logan as the type who wouldn't look for trouble , but could certainly handle himself if trouble comes knocking.

Now that Raimiverse and TASverse are part of Marvel Cinematic Multiverse it would interesting to see what have done their Spidermen all these years. They can adapt scripts that never arrived like Spiderman 4 or TAS 3. Also it would interesting to see what was done by the villain variants after they arrive to their universe. Otto stoping his proyect with the arc reactor from the MCU for example.
