Hmmm, given the plan of the Pride in the comics, it wouldn't make sense for at least 2 of the parent couples to have more than 1 kid... Clearly the story will be changed.

Also Alex and Nico bonding over the loss of their friend/sister will be weird.

Yeah, that detail would be, which would be a shame since that's a detail I like a lot.

BTW, I just finished reading Runaways Vol. 1 (i.e., #1-18). I feel I am thoroughly spoiled for the show now

Maybe the adding of multiple offspring per couple without altering the "contract" from the comics will be a source of drama on the parents side: they would be faced with an unbearable choice.
This could work wonders for the characterization of the adults.
And maybe Nico's sister demise was no accident.

Also, Nico not cutting herself sounds the right call to me: I don't want to sound elitist but the comics audience is mostly more sensible and discerning than the exponentially wider one of television, better safe than sorry.
On the other hand, some comics reader embarass me to no end, but those often times hated Runaways (and Young Avengers), so it explains a lot.

There is something cool about 12 members of the Pride and only six getting picked. It raised possibilities of only one family member getting picked, etc. Change isn't bad, and it's hard to fault it if it's out of necessity, but the original story seems to fit together better.
