Matt Reeves Directing The Batman

I loved the Apes movies, and am very much looking forward to War this year, so Reeves directing The Batman is fine with me

Expect any CGI characters to be created by Andy Serkis. Clayface, anyone?

Said it when he was first rumoured, but Reeves is a great choice for this. I was hoping he would take over the X-Men franchise personally. But his movies can be pretty dark and i have enjoyed every one he has made so far, so I think he will make a very good Batman movie.

Either way, Andy Serkis in the DCEU would be a big plus.

Serkis portraying a midget Mad Hatter would be quite terrifying :wow:

I thought Dawn was rather underwhelming in comparison to excellent Rise and Cloverfield was so-so... Maybe War will convince me this was a good choice.

Glad they found a seemingly-worthy replacement (I haven't actually seen any of Reeves' movies)!

Shame Killer Croc got ruined with that poor make-up job. A CG version using Serkis would have been great.

Or Man Bat.

Or Clayface.

Gah.

I like Reeves' movies more than Affleck's. Very excited for this

The only bad part of Croc was the performance. Holy **** he was miscast!

I get ya  well, what did you think about the Lizard in TASM?

A good idea of what's possible with just CGI for a character like Croc, certainly.

I think he's a hard character get right in live action. You either go full bore CGI, or rein it in and go more for a minimalist Bermejo type Waylon. The one is SS felt like a halfway house, and consequently ended up about as scary as a Teletubby.

I would love to see an outlandish Batman villain done in CGI that is injected with the same amount of three dimensionality as Caesar in the Apes movies - or even Gollum in LOTR. It'd really give The Batman a USP.

Makes me wonder... Serkis as Mad Hatter? Bat-Mite??

It looked better in stills than it did moving IMO.

I'm on the same boat in regards to those two films, but I think he's a good choice.
