I dont want this to take away from Superman but...its just so damn good. Hopefully they can both be hits

That's disappointing considering it opened 2 million higher in previews without the Tuesday assist. It's directly competing with Superman for the same audience and it's still early enough where that film has legitimate juice.

They should have moved it to November and let both films breathe.

They’re early estimates and deadline is usually low, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it ticks up closer to 130. All the posttrak scores are great, it should get a boost from WoM too.

125 would be a definite win. Though I am wondering if it will be higher cause Deadline has low balled both FF and Superman throughout this process

I expect an uptick but I was expecting a 59m+ Friday after that preview number. I generally ignore the trades based on past lowballing, so I'm not sure how much of a lowball it is.

Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025): A-

Disney saying 57 Friday (including previews), according to BOT’s Shawn. 49.2 running total OS.

What's that put us on track for?

Definite recommend has upticked to 72% which is right around where Superman was at 74%. The Latino/Hispanic and Asian American moviegoer turnout was higher on First Steps than Superman respectively with (31% to 26%) and (11% to 9%). Black moviegoers turnout was even between both movies at 19%. Caucasian was bigger on Superman over Marvel’s first family, 41% to 34%.

Under 35 turnout on First Steps is 71% to Superman‘s 66%. Overall, again, very similar demos between the movies with Fantastic Four showing men over 25 (40%) to Superman‘s 43%; men under 25 at 29% to Superman‘s 25%, women over 25 at 20% to 19%, and women under 25 at 11% to 13%. Male to female split at 69%/31% is close to par with Gunn’s Man of Steel pic.

Earliest audience skewing younger and more diverse but more male than Superman.

What's that put us on track for?

The Friday is only about 900k more than Superman's Fri. Given the previews were higher, I would be hesitant about it going much higher than Superman's OW.

Didn’t Superman’s first weekend include the Amazon Tuesday screening numbers rolled in?

They were rolled in.

Both films are well reviewed and have excellent WOM, but the narratives surrounding these films in the next few months will be interesting to see. Box Office dominance was always a big part of the story in the past.

Didn’t Superman’s first weekend include the Amazon Tuesday screening numbers rolled in?

Yes, but those people would have gone to the Thur anyway, so there is not much data to glean from that, imo. And frankly, the smaller Fri pull is small enough that I wouldn't call it a danger sign. Its in the range that weather could be a factor, as I know storms have been going around this week. But it is also something to keep an eye on for Sat.

Either way, it looks like a similar weekend as Superman. Which is good! Everything is a win in my book!

They should have moved it to November and let both films breathe.

I was honestly shocked when I realized the movie was already out. I just automatically assumed we were still a couple months away.
