We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So don't forget to VOTE and after voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

Don't forget to put which Tier group you think Pre-Eternal Flame Surtur and The Destroyer belong to in your posts. Also, don't forget I've now added the option of being able to change your vote if you change your mind.

So, without further delay here is this week's match up

THE DESTROYER

PRE-ETERNAL FLAME SURTUR

Fire Demon Physiology: As a Fire Giant, Surtur is indeed magical in nature. Given how his essence traveled into is skull, and how he was unable to die, even after being defeated by Odin “half a million years ago”, Su

Fire Manipulation: As a Fire Giant, Surtur can generate massive waves of fire from his Twilight Sword to engulf his targets in flames.

Superhuman Strength: Surtur's original level of strength was already great enough to match, if not surpass, that of Thor.

Superhuman Durability: Surtur's original level of durabillity is already great enough to withstand blows from Thor using Mjolnir

Longevity: Surtur’s age is unknown, however it was believed by Thor that Odin killed Surtur “half a million years ago”. While this may be hyperbole, Surtur is evidentially older than Odin, and while defeated, he seemingly is unable to truly die until he destroys Asgard.

THE DESTROYER

- Superhuman Strength: The Destroyer's large size and construction gives it formidable physical power, enough to bat away a car hurled at it, and send Volstagg flying with apparent ease. The Destroyer's immense superhuman strength enables it to effortlessly kill a being of human strength and resilience with as little as a back handed strike with an open hand. This allowed it to fatally injure a mortal Thor with severe blunt trauma which sent him flying through the air. With more effort, it can kill a Frost Giant or even Asgardian with its strength, as even the combined efforts of Lady Sif and the Warriors Three did not stand a chance against the Destroyer. Only Thor was able to hold his own against it, after fully regaining his powers.

- Superhuman Durability: The Destroyer is constructed of other worldly materials that make it highly resistant to damage. Even when pierced by Sif's Asgardian lance, it was able to continue functioning. Also, no known human weaponry can harm or destroy it, with Mjølnir being the only known weapon capable of harming it.

- Odinforce Blast: The Destroyer powered by the Odinforce, which resembles a fiery energy, can be unleashed through an aperture in its head. When it does this, part of the facial structure retracts downward into the lower face and the energy discharge lances out in a wide, orange-white, fire like beam. This beam is extremely powerful, as the touch of it is enough to blast a car to pieces, vaporize a living being (even one as durable as a Frost Giant) or lay waste to any structure (a building, for example) it lays its "eyes" upon. Only beings of incredible power, like Thor, are able to withstand these blasts.

- Retrograde Positioning: The Destroyer is able to rearrange the armor pieces that make up its body, giving it a nearly unlimited range of motion. When attacked from behind it was able to face its opponent without turning around by instead fully rotating its arms, legs, and head. This was used when Sif drove a lance through its back and the Destroyer swiftly re-positions itself to blast her.

- Sensory Scrying and Partial Possession: The Destroyer is linked to whoever holds Gungnir and recognizes the spear's wielder as its master. The wielder of Gungnir can perceive whatever transpires around the armor and pilot it by partially possessing it, even if they are separated at vast distances across the Nine Realms. Thus, it can be stopped by an attack on its master, should they have left themselves vulnerable to attack. It was first commanded by Odin, and then by Loki. Odin seemed to be able use it to Frost Giants breaking into his vault, and that Loki was using it to try and kill Thor while he was in possession of Gungnir.

This is an interesting one. Pre-Eternal Flame Surtur was injured as we saw with him having difficulty walking and moving the sword. Thor did quick work of him. The Destroyer took more out of Thor.

I give it to the Destroyer.

Did the Destroyer take more out of Thor? He made pretty quick work of that, as well.

He made quick work of both. I think Surtur was taken out with greater ease.

In his weakened form Surtur doesn't really have great strength/skill feats and his fire attack seems like something the Destroyer could endure. The rest of him's durable enough to tank hits from Mjolnir but his crown is a bit of a videogame style weak spot.

Thor beat the Destroyer just as quickly but he did it by pulling it into a tornado to keep it off balance and then using Mjolnir to block its Odinforce blast until it overloaded and caused an explosion that tore it apart from the inside. The fact Thor felt the need to keep it off balance and didn't try to destroy it from the outside with lightning/brute strength says quite a lot. Combine that with its feats killing Frost Giants, ignoring impalement and walking through fire and the Destroyer gets my vote.

Destroyer.

Thor defeated the Destroyer as quickly as possible because he knew how dangerous it was.
