Phase 4 so far is going to be a large amount of misdirection and wrong rumors thanks to the multiverse aspect.

Only on the 5th episode of WandaVision and I've already been proven wrong more times than I could count. Marvel has definitely stepped up their game.

I genuinely have no idea how this ties into the future of the MCU. Atleast not yet.

I have a feeling all 2021 planned mcu movies would be delayed again any day from now. Every studio is now delaying 2021 movies. A lot of either move it to August 2021 to early 2022. I'd move to Black Widow in November, Shang Chi in February 2022, Spidey 3 in March 2022 and Eternals in May 2022. That way we could still get Dr. Strange and Thor in 2022. Black Panther definitely ain't coming out neXt year.

I just hope they don't pull a Ww84 into any of these upcoming films.

In the present delays are inevitable. Its the one thing taking me out of the superherohype, for lack of a better term of interest in comic book films, lol.

I'm sure we'll see the slate rearranged a few more times before we can count on concreate dates again.

My interest for upcoming movies definitely dwindled down in the last 12 months. Seeing Mulan, Ww84 and Soul in my bedroom didn't feel right. It also doesn't help the theaters from where I live are shut down since March. And I used to go to theaters every month and I still can't believe, its almost been a year since I entered a cinema and bought movie tickets.

Also, last year, I was like maybe in 3 months, they'd reopen, then that 3 months was extended into a month, then another month. And now maybe in mid 2021? Eh.

The vaccines give me some hope. Its awesome how fast these vaccines were approved and I was optimistic a vaccine was going to be approved before 2021. But still, not every country is getting the vaccine in an instant. And really how do you vaccinate half of Earth's population? Thats going to take years.

I'm just hoping countries like America, UK and big European countries already vaccinated half of their population or at least 40% by June. Since those countries have big number of cases and those countries specially America took a big percentage of the box office numbers of these huge blockbusters in the past. While countries like China, UAE, Sweden, Australia, Japan and in the South Pacific (except for the Philippines) if I'm not wrong, hasn't closed theaters and films like Mulan, TenəT, WW84 and Soul were released in theaters, so movie wise, I'm not concerned regarding theater accessibility in those countries.

Am I the only one who is more interested in what's coming to Disney Plus in the next couple years than the feature films?

And if others feel that way, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I assume the feature films are much more lucrative in terms of putting dollars in Disney's pocket, but I also suspect they'll leverage the Disney Plus shows and drop things in them that will make me more interested in the feature films as we get closer.

Sorta yea and I don't think that's a bad thing either. I feel like Disney+ is a good outlet for them to try to do either more experimental things or put a focus on more obscure characters/stories. So it seems like they are gonna be doings things on Disney+ that they probably would have never done in the movies (Wandavision, What If, Guardians Holiday special, etc..). Plus with things like Secret Invasion and Armor Wars, it seems like they are interested in doing "Event" type shows as opposed to just doing a Nick Fury show or a War Machine show.

I'm more interested in the movies. So far, WandaVision has rather disappointed me. There is some underlying interest; it's like there's a good story somewhere, but, for me, the overall tone is a big negative. Very interested in a few of the characters, but a particular returning character disappointed me.....and it wasn't Vision.

I am at a breaking point with Marvel product now.

After WandaVision and for me a 50% average of making something in the least entertaining and engaging I am not feeling the need to see everything they put out. My gut tells me I prolly could've skipped WV in totality and just read the Wiki entry before seeing the Doc Strange sequel.

But then... They drop a Falcon And WS trailer and I'm all "Okay... This could probably be good so..."

(sigh)

And while I have some films I am really interested in seeing that are in the pipes now... I do think Falcon/WS, LOKI, Hawkeye, She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel are more interesting to me on the whole.

But if Falcon/WS is as underwhelming as WV...

I think the move to tv series on Disney+ is great for the universe. Of course the movies are more exciting and contain more action but the series creates a space for even more marvel content! Plus gives extra room for character development that wouldn’t fit into a movie.

Definitely more interested in the Disney+ slate at the moment over the movies. Not that I'm not excited about the movies but the shows can be more experimental and they give a spotlight to characters who would otherwise be given 15 minutes of screen time every few movies. Wandavision was a great first entry. Apparently covid caused a few scenes to be cut that would have improved the finale, but other than that some of the best stuff the MCU has done yet. I never would have put Vision and Scarlet Witch amongst my favourite characters but Wandavision shot them up near the top. Excited to see what the shows can do for the likes of Falcon and Hawkeye.

I'm really looking forward to Hawkeye in specific as well. Jeremy Renner's great in the role.

Couldn’t agree more, and welcome to the Hype buddy!

WandaVision has made me wish that Lizzie Olsen were the main star of the MCU and Wanda featured in many more Marvel properties rather than being a side character.

She might get promoted after Dr Strange!

I would like that. Hopefully they don't go Dark Phoenix on her and kill her off or subject her to the clichéd trope of powerful female character who can't control her powers and becomes corrupted and then needs to die

To me she became the most interesting character since her very first appearance.
So yeah, Id love to see her as a lead in MCU, not necessarily the main one, but one of the 3 main ones.

I would say that the fact she got her own show and is appearing in MoM is already strong evidence that she's been "promoted". By hyping up the importance of her fulfilling the prophecy of the "Scarlet Witch", they're clearly laying the ground work for Wanda to have a major role going forward.

If Wanda managed to reunite with Vision (and he got his soul and memories of Westview back) and she was able to get her two boys back, then the MCU could do with a family, and with superheroes who are parents. In the finale when they all teamed up and there was a nod to the Incredibles, that was very cool and a dynamic that the MCU doesn't have at all currently but could really use. I'm not sure where else they'd get that kind of dynamic either.

Even if they had Fantastic Four, it would be the adult 4 team members for a while. Only later would they have Franklin and Valeria, but I wouldn't want them aged up suddenly like Tommy and Billy were in WandaVision.

Plus having a powerful character like Scarlet Witch who is also a mother would make a change from all the typical Dark Phoenix type stories Fox has always given us. It was also great when Wanda got her Scarlet Witch costume and looked formidable, but then was being all cute, approachable and maternal as a mother:

So Marvel should give us this type of character as one of the main leads.

Yes, all true. Can’t wait for MoM to see how much more they develop her and her powers and where it might go from there.

Yes, agreed on all this.

The young superhero family part juggling things like school would be unique and could be a long term recurring thing set in the universe. I don’t think there’s anything like it and could resonate with many new people.

The outfit makes her look regal and lives up to the legend of the Scarlet Witch as it was built up, but I agree that it’s then great to see the contrast of her acting cute and maternal wearing it when she’s not being the huge threat that others perceive.

I wouldn't mind if they gave us a show or even movie similar to ABC's "No Ordinary Family" but starring Wanda, Vision and her two boys. It could even show them attending school and having to keep their powers a secret.

But of course, the big difference between this and No Ordinary Family is that Wanda and Vision are publicly known as super-powered beings, so I don't know how Wanda would be able to do a school run or attend parent teacher meetings while remaining inconspicuous.

Of course, the other difference between this and No Ordinary Family is that WandaVision was successful and is using established comic characters whereas NOF had completely original characters.

But I think a film or even another season of WandaVision could give us family-based characters that we don't see in the MCU. It could retain numerous sitcom elements but also be like the Incredibles. And it would be different to Fantastic Four.

Marvel properties are partly driven by money and popularity, so if Feige and Disney see how popular Wanda is, surely they would consider using her more frequently and having more properties based around her.

I know it wont happen, but a SCARLET WITCH movie would be awesome. Wanda, Vision and the teens, but with a larger plot/threat and with the presence of mutants this time around. They can go really crazy with Wanda now, with any type of plot/setting, and with a strong supporting cast, so..... we'll see.
