Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I wonder when we will get confirmation? To be honest I would love it if superherohype got some new boards
Oh lawd, we're gonna need some new mods to cover all that.

Ha! Well I’m sure there will be a few more volunteers.

Anyway it could be years until marvel confirms them all

Fiege has indicated that the phase grouping might not be used any more post Infinity War. If films like Liberators and Infinity Watch are sufficiently big movies then you can go longer without Avenger movies. So long as you have a big team up movie every few years. Hell, you could make those movies subtitled avenger movies if needs be, but personally, I like the idea of making things more fluid; blurring the lines more and more between solo and crossover films and having big event movies that aren't called the Avengers, so as not to tire that brand name out.

I do think that Xmen and F4 will be saved for "phase 5". I just don't think the rights will be sorted fast enough for Marvel to burst into phase 4 with the Xmen and F4. Better to focus phase 4 on making sure that the second generation of heroes can carry the MCU. Then you can go all in with the Fox properties.

I tend to think that unless Ant-Man and the Wasp does incredibly well that a third Ant-Man film will be scrapped. Ant-Man is definitely Marvel's least valuable film franchise right now.

I hear you on the Ant-Man 3, and I get that the phase rigidity is going away, I'd love some more fluidity, however the Avengers brand isn't getting tired at all, so I don't think that's a concern.

Fox deal is less than two years away from closing one way or the other. Movies take only two years to develop IF it's true that they aren't thinking about it now (they are). That puts that movie at around the time people will be expecting to see BP and Captain Marvel team up again. The 2nd gen characters will have had successful sequels by then and will not need an extra 2-3 X-Men-free years to finish their trilogies to get established.

We'll likely get told a big part of the upcoming slate shortly after Avengers 4 is out. Until then it could be a spoiler to talk about (or not talk about) sequels to existing solo franchises.

Got a question and didn’t know where to ask. Would the Ancient One be able to defeat all of the Avengers?
The masters of the mystic arts are glass cannons but can BFR almost anyone and if that is allowed then they can beat any avenger by BFR otherwise ironman and up win with low difficulty

Hoping the post-credit scene for Captain Marvel teases Ms. Marvel.

I don’t know if I want to see a captain marvel and ms marvel movie though.

Maybe like a young champions thing?

Like someone else said earlier the "phases" thing is being scrapped. Not sure how that affects the whole story arc that was exemplified by the Infinity Stones/Thanos story that has spanned three phases entering its completion with Avengers 4. Fiege keeps saying we can expect a very different MCU moving forward. That could mean a number of things quite frankly. The threat level we will see with Thanos destroying not just the earth but part of the Marvel universe almost seems like it could never be topped without retreading old ground.

Im sure they have some big ideas for the future though but right now its hard to put my finger on whats happening until these two Avenger movies come out. And what happens with Spidey is a bit of an enigma.

I think the New properties we would likely get are

1.Black Widow
2.Shang chi
3.Adam Warlock
4.Invaders

If the fox deal comes thru?F4 will take Invaders place

Black Panther 2
Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Captain Marvel
Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel

Everything else is up in the air until after The Avengers movies.

Depending on who survives Avengers 4, I feel like these are the most likely films for 2020 and 2021.

2020 - Guardians 3, Black Widow and Doctor Strange 2
2021 - Black Panther 2, Thor 4, Fantastic Four

I posted some ideas in other threads for new movies but here's quick run-down as I see it of movies most likely going to happen based on currently ongoing franchises...

Sequels to Still Fresh Franchises:
Gaurdians 3, Antman/Wasp 3, Dr. Strange 2, Spiderman 2 and 3, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2

Tally Above: 7 Movies

Expired Franchises
Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Avengers (Avengers movie title being tweaked subtly most likely but this franchise continuing is a certainty)

Tally Above: 5 Possibilities

Question: Will there be any direct follow-up? (For example Iron Man 4 starring Robert Downey Jr.) If not, how can each franchise most likely be spun-off into another property or simply re-titled in some fashion?

Reported New Franchises:
Black Widow

Tally Above: 1
*While establishing new franchise, it should be noted this is moreso simply taking a supporting character seen in previous movies and expanding.

Overall, taking into account the 3 categories above (as well as questions posed above as well) too many movies to really develop anything new especially when consider X-Men and FF movies will most likely be added into mix early to mid-2020's.

The question moreso will become what other properties may be used as a vehicle to steer away from an expired franchise while going into something semi-similar but new. This will be Marvel's go-to system I'm guessing.

Is a Guardians Spin-Of possible with Stallone, Lu etc. or was that just an easter egg?

I would calculate with 4 movies from 2020/21 and going on.

Quirky Bite article basically listed off these release dates but don't know if they are real

The dates are real however Marvel hasn't annouced what movies are attached to those dates yet.

Thanks I was wondering if that article was even real or if it was lying to me

MCU introduces a new franchise about every year. Black Panther was this year and next year there is Captain Marvel. If that continues, we should expect something new in 2020. I absolutely think there is room for it.

I must admit, I would be very sad if there were no new franchises. It makes casting for characters a bit harder if they’re all just sequels

Apparently John Boyega met with marvel but doesn't want to play Blade despite being perfect for the role since he doesn't want to be known as the guy who replaced Wesley Snipes. Makes you wonder who's going to take over as Captain America since Chris Evans is close to being done with the role and more importantly, who could actually be the next Steve Rogers considering how iconic Evans is.

Hmm with every year a new Franchise we Need 4 spots in the year I think.

I feel like Ant-Man is already scraping the bottom of the barrel and Nova honestly works better as a member of the Guardians. Once the Fox deal clears, the Shi-Ar return which opens up the possibility of Darkhawk but most of what's new will be the Fox properties. Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force and Alpha Flight along with the possibility of solo films for Wolverine, Cable, Deadpool and Thing. There aren't an infinite number of marketable properties and 4 films a year is good enough.

Once the deal clears, Universal will be targeted next with some sort of deal being cut for the Hulk and Namor distribution rights.

There will be a new franchise launched in Phase 4. And it's not one of the Fox ones.

Just one? I was hoping at least one new one each year, 2014 we got Guardians of the Galaxy, 2015 we got Ant-man, 2017 we got Spider-man and Doctor Strange, then this year we got Black Panther and next year Captain Marvel.

I was hoping something like one year Black Widow, the next year Nova, the year after that maybe F4 and then that 4th year X-Men.

When marvel got a chance at Spider-Man they dashed right to it and I reckon they’re even more keen on xmen.

I don’t think it’s impossible for an xmen movie to happen quickly as soon as the fox deal is finalised
