I think the MCU heyday is over. Phase IV is not looking too promising.
So you think the MCU will fail without RDJ and Evans?

No, I don’t think it’s going to fail. It’s not going to be as big. I think the billion dollars box office is over. I can’t see any Phase IV getting to $600 million, maybe Thor, but that’s it.So you think the MCU will fail without RDJ and Evans?
That's exactly what I want.I wouldn't be surprised if Storm was to be the first MCU mutant we meet...in Black Panther 2.
Eternal looks to be interesting and I think Doctor Strange is going to win this phase. I just have this feeling that it's going to be unique. And if it's good, it's going to come close to a billion dollars if not more. This phase will be interesting because Phase 3 provided such a sugar rush, that I fear by comparison this Phase will start off rather bland. I don't think we'll see the intense must have film until Thor 4 which may only provide a Ragnarok level performance rather than an Avengers level. In fact it may be Phase 5 or 6 before we see another billion dollar property. It's not surprising though since the IFW/EG level of event films require buildup and are hard to sustain.

Well this is all been very interesting. So, now that we’ve gotten all of the facts about phase 4 and know exactly how it’s going to turn out, should we just close this thread?

You really are committed to being the most wrong about the most possible things...No, I don’t think it’s going to fail. It’s not going to be as big. I think the billion dollars box office is over. I can’t see any Phase IV getting to $600 million, maybe Thor, but that’s it.

What is the rationale to back this up? Every MCU sequel besides Ant-Man & The Wasp has made huge gains on the previous film's box office. You really think Dr. Strange:MoM is going to make LESS money than his origin flick did? That Thor, after scoring 854 mil will only MAYBE cross 600 with his next film? No MCU movie has failed to make 600 mil since the OG Ant-Man.
Thor will make close to a billion, if not surpass it.
It will also be interesting to see who plays Storm and how old she will be.
I would prefer they go with a teenage Ororo. I'd like to see her coming into her powers and eventually transition to Xaviers school as a student. And T'Challa already has a great gal.
I said this in the MCU X-Men thread just a few minutes ago:
- If you want to keep Magneto as a white man and in modern day, make him a survivor of the Balkan conflict that erupted in the early 1990's. This would make him in his 50's when we see him in the MCU.
I have little doubt it can do so. Especially if the trailers are chock full of more delicious Taika visuals...Thor will make close to a billion, if not surpass it.
Storm doesn't have to be T'Challa's love interest. She could just be a friend. That could be interesting, especially with the dynamic between T'Challa and Nakia.
Guy is bored. He's just here to kill some time. It's not about rational analysis with Raiders.
It's all about:

That's it.

I have more faith in Marvel than to think they would sell out the power of a character firmly rooted in real life atrocities. What would be the reason not to? We still had Nazis very present in TFA. He still punched Hitler in the face. They just didn't want to give the real-life army sci-fi weapons.I've said this before as well. A Bosniak victim of the Bosnian Serbs is the closest you'll get without making him over 80 years old. However, I doubt Marvel will explicitly reference those events. They didn't even use nazis that much in Captain America, focussing almost entirely on the fictional Hydra. I doubt they'd explicitly reference a real genocide that happened less than 30 years ago. Plus I don't know what problems may arise from making a jewish character muslim.
