As you clearly see you dont know what you re talking about.
The Avengers films are the most profitable by far and the only solo movies that come even close are Black Panther and Captain Marvel and both will have an increased budget for their sequel with limited room for box office improvement.
So yes. You re wrong.
You are not counting P/A cost.
Once more... I have, after a lifetime of reading Marvel Comics, found myself thinking that half the time that their theatrical output is mediocre and often upon intial release ridiculously overpraised by fans online...
But Jesus Tap Dancing Christ... Stop with the attempts at this BS financial jiujitsu bringing up ROI or production costs etc. On every level you are just spectacularly wrong. Don't like Marvel films? Fine. You don't have to. But you are just being the flip side of the coin of Marvel Zombies that go out of their way to dog DCEU films on the badis of finances when the truth there is that despite JL flopping the other films have all made money which is why they are still making DC movies.
Marvel films are juggernauts at this point and it's silly to act otherwise. Criticise them on any other level, but the BO speaks in concrete ways. Could you say, as I do, that their four quadrant above all take makes for a lot of very middle of the road time wasters? I think so. But that's also what contributes to their success even if I feel it's a bit of a betrayal of the Marvel Comics brand which wad always about more layered and complex characterizations and themes at least compared to the formula they got going on for, again, about half of their out put so far.
But IT WORKS. I don't have to like it but they are getting those tickets sold and selling merch and getting people to sign up for streaming services and on and on...
There is going to be another Avengers film. You will again be PROVEN wrong. And cost won't even once come into the equation. Once the plan for Avengers 5&6 start to come together Feige will lay it out to Disney and Disney will go "What resources do you need to make this happen because we are more than confident given your track record about our RETURN ON INVESTMENT."
And he'll get it.

Wonder what it could be. Now he's apparently up for a role in Batman too.
This has never stopped the expert before!which would be a moronic claim and not factual.
The problem is your estimates are way too low1. First of all i do account for marketing. Compare the "total cost" i gave for each movie with the budgets provided by wikipedia , boxofficemojo or any article you can find and you ll see my numbers are higher by $100-175 mil which is the estimated marketing sum.
2. Even if i didnt account for P/A costs it would be irrelevant since A) the production budget is much higher than the P/A costs and B) your initial point was that the Avengers films are less profitable than the solo movies. Unless you re suggesting that the Avengers films have a triple or quadriple P/A budget which would be a moronic claim and not factual.

Because if they are low for all Marvel movies, that still means that Avengers movies get a better ROI. with some of these phase IV films including Shang Chi and Blade, is it likely we will see independent films, not connected to Avengers/other wider team ups?

I think some of the more street level heroes could meet up independently of the Avengers. There will be battles on many fronts of different scale so there’ll no need for absolutely everything to go through the Avengers.with some of these phase IV films including Shang Chi and Blade, is it likely we will see independent films, not connected to Avengers/other wider team ups?
I could see him playing Lucius Fox in Batman or a mob bossWonder what it could be. Now he's apparently up for a role in Batman too.
I would watch an Avengers film without them.Face facts, there is no Avengers movie in Phase 4, more than likely there won’t be one in Phase 5 either, because they cost too much. Besides, who wants to see an Avengers without Tony and Steve? I know I don’t.
I would be interested in the dynamics of a Avengers team with a new line up.

Absolutely no one was anticipating an Avengers movie in Phase 4 given that the entire phase represents a scant two years and, other than Endgame, the films have come in three year intervals.
The Avengers series is by far the most profitable in the history of film, and looking at cost while ignoring revenue is foolish. But with Evans and (especially) RDJ sitting out the next installment, the costs for Avengers 5 will be significantly lower than Endgame. And folks who have read an Avengers comic or two in their life know that there is more to the team than just Tony and Steve.
