Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I’m sure they will, I do believe they had ideas set aside just in case they got the rights back, maybe not full scripts, but ideas and/or an outline how to proceed.

Also, I would not be surprised if around 2020 Marvel Studios goes to 4 movies a year.

February, May, August and November I can see being their drop spots.

Feige mention a number of British actors have asked about Captain Britain over the years and the character is one they have had discussions about.

I think a Captain Britain franchise could be a possibility. Marvel would get to play with the multiverse, Arthurian mythology and possibly mutants (if the Fox deal goes through) with a Captain Britain franchise. The can also use characters like Black Knight as well as diverse heroes and villains like Faiza Hussain (Excalibur) and Slaymaster.
Like someone else said earlier the "phases" thing is being scrapped. Not sure how that affects the whole story arc that was exemplified by the Infinity Stones/Thanos story that has spanned three phases entering its completion with Avengers 4. Fiege keeps saying we can expect a very different MCU moving forward. That could mean a number of things quite frankly. The threat level we will see with Thanos destroying not just the earth but part of the Marvel universe almost seems like it could never be topped without retreading old ground.

Im sure they have some big ideas for the future though but right now its hard to put my finger on whats happening until these two Avenger movies come out. And what happens with Spidey is a bit of an enigma.

I think the scrapping of the phases might mean less interconnected movies. More films taking place in the past like Captain Marvel and Captain America The First Avenger or in outer space like Gurdians. Less heroes associated with the Avengers.

I think it means less rigid crossovers like some have suggested. Basically what Civil War and Ragnarok did, they mixed characters they thought worked in the story but didn't treat that as an "event" like the Avengers movies (specially the first one and Infinity War). There may also try some "localized" crossover storylines, i.e. basically what The Defenders tried on Netflix (mixing a corner of the Universe instead of all/most of it) or what happens in the comics where you've got different Batman titles leading to the same story but the rest of the DCU doesn't participate, though this may admittedly get a bit complicated for the GA.

Maybe we should talk about what villains we want to see in phase 4?

Because we don’t know how avengers infinity war ends yet I’m just going to assume everyone lives lol

Iron man 4 - crimson dynamo
Thor 4 - ????
Captain America - sin and a proper nuke
Doctor strange 2- nightmare
Spider-Man 2- kraven
Black widow - yelena belova and doctor faustus
Black panther 2 - Moses magnum
Fantastic four - annihilius
Xmen - Cassandra nova and juggernaut
Avengers - kang

Iron Man 4
I think they blew their chance with Crimson Dynamo with Iron Man 2. Would have preferred a straight adaptation of that character instead of the weird Crimson Dynamo/Whiplash hybrid we got. At this point, I'd move away from villains in robotic suits. Either go with a more personal villain in Madame Masque, or go big-scale with Iron Man taking on MODOK and AIM.

Thor 4
Midgard Serpent. No brainer.

Captain America 4
Not a new villain, but I've been itching to see Red Skull make a present-day return. Highly doubtful with Evans' recent remarks, but if they could get him back for just one more film. One final bout with Red Skull would be a great way of sending off the character. If not Red Skull, then bring back Helmut Zemo in full-blown villain mode.

Doctor Strange 2
Hard to ignore Baron Mordo after the post-credits scene, but I'd roll with Nightmare as well. I'd like to see a bit more cosmic horror injected into Doctor Strange, and this guy fits the bill perfectly.

Spider-Man 2
My personal choice would be Scorpion, but I'd also be happy with Mysterio or Kraven. I'd rather they hold Kraven off until the third film, because I feel like Spidey needs to establish himself a bit more before he's considered big enough game for Kraven.

Black Panther 2
My knowledge of Black Panther lore is horrible, so I've deferred to the popular vote of Moses Magnum.

Black Window
Haven't the faintest idea. Spymaster maybe?

Fantastic Four
I think Annihilus may prove more palatable for general audiences, but I have to say I'm quite partial to the idea of Mole Man and Subterranea. An action/adventure type film with all weird aesthetics of Jack Kirby. Either way, save Doctor Doom for the sequel. Someone else needs a turn at bat.

Captain Marvel 2
No clue.

Ant-Man 3
No clue.

I don't see some of these movies happening, but here are some of my picks:

Iron Man 4

-Mandarin and the Ten Rings. All Hail the King hinted at a real Mandarin, and the Ten Rings are still out there. I'd like to see closure to this

Thor 4

-Enchantress would be my 1st choice. The Midgard Serpeant would be awesome, but that feels more like something someone is unleashing. I'd like to see Enchantress as the main villain.

Captain America 4

-Easiest one, bring back Evans for one more film if he'd do it, and send him off in the sunset with a battle against Red Skull!

Doctor Strange 2

-I would like to see Mordo and Nightmare in this one.

Spider-Man 2

-Mysterio!!! He's one of my favorites and I have been patient! :cmad:

Black Panther 2

-Moses Magnum is an easy choice for this. If outside the box, Namor could also be interesting.

Black Window

-Spymaster is a good pick, but I also would like Madame Hydra/Viper

Fantastic Four

-I would not want Doom in the first film as the main villain. I could see a few working. Personally, Psycho-Man, Annihulus/Blastaar, or Mole Man all would work. I have a certain vision that would utilize the Frightful Four, myself.

Captain Marvel 2

-Supremor!!!!

Ant-Man 3

-MODOK would be well used here. Also would like Whirlwind or Count Nefaria.

X-Men

-Mr. Sinister. He can explain mutants to the audience and if they embrace his sci-fi, can showcase how different this new X-Men will be from the FOX version. I also would like Proteus.

Thor 4 - God Butcher, Ulik the Troll or Minotaur (Dario Agger)

Black Window - Damon Dran and Iron Maiden

Captain Marvel 2 - Cru the Brood Hunter or Moonstone

Black Panther 2 - Moses Magnum

Ant-Man 3 - Either Egghead's Masters Of Evil made up of Ant-Man rogues Whirlwind, Porcupine, The Voice and The magician or Crossfire and Beetle.

Apparently John Boyega met with marvel but doesn't want to play Blade despite being perfect for the role since he doesn't want to be known as the guy who replaced Wesley Snipes.
While I appreciate John's respect for his Cinematic Forebears I believe it is a mistake to let this character wallow

Blade is not just the first black lead super hero film franchise, he is the first marvel hero to be adapted for the big screen and be a financial success ushering in the era of marvel properties being a big screen success. this character has a legacy that should not just be allowed to wallow

Honestly, I think Boyega is not a great fit for Blade.

I think he works, in my mind the only question is do we go for another American style Blade or do we go for a British style blade and let John speak with his normal voice

Oh, yes please!!!!!!

Agreed, and more importantly to me, Blade is not a good fit for Boyega. I think he's 100% right in not stepping up to Wesley's legacy in a franchise that is fundametally divorced from the larger MCU, as we see from Blade's very spotty involvement in any storylines other than his own.

Boyega both needs and deserves either a more central or more connected character.

Maybe we should talk about what villains we want to see in phase 4?

From your list:

Iron man 4 - Ezekiel Stane, Living Lightning and Grey Gargoyle
Thor 4 - Amora and Midgardian Serpent
Captain America - Grand Director and Serpent Society
Doctor strange 2- Nightmare and Mordo
Spider-Man 2- Mysterio, Kraven and Tombstone
Black widow - The Winter Guard
Black panther 2 - Namor and Moses Magnum
Fantastic four - Annihilus and Mole Man
Xmen - Mr. Sinister
Avengers - Masters of Evil/Thunderbolts

I don't think we'll see any 4th entries, unless they also function as spinoffs (i.e. a Valkyrie movie) I think we'll also see:

Guardians of the Galaxy 3: Adam Warlock, maybe Korvac
Captain Marvel 2: Veranke and the Skrulls

Oh Ezekiel would be wonderful. Last gen versus next gen. Great way to end rdj’s run I reckon

I think Boyega would make a good Joey Chapman/Union Jack.

Boyega was in the running for the role of Eggys in Kingsman. Union Jack is pretty similar. Chapman was a working class kid who took up the Union Jack mantle from the aristocratic Falsworth family against the wishes of the family matriarch Lady Jacqueline (Spitfire). Chapman would go on to work for MI5.

Can't say the Eternals really excite me so either way I'm okay with it. If it's true I'll see it and probably enjoy it but I'm not clamoring for it

It'll be interesting(if the Disney/Fox deal goes through) how much Marvel was initially planning prior to the Mouse buying Fox still happens or what gets scrapped. If things continue to go smoothly with the Merger and if it looks more and more like it's sure thing to be finalized then I suspect things like that Black Widow movie and this Eternals thing gets either pushed or scrapped entirely. You won't need something like the Eternals when you have access to the First Family.

Feige is no fool: He's the greatest producer in Hollywood. The allure of playing with X-Men is just too tantalizing a prospect to throw simply to the side in favor of focusing on the comically titled property called the "The Eternals."

They could get Boyega for Blue Marvel.

I think The Eternals could be done similarly to Thor Ragnarok's tone but better if it can be edited more cohesively with less forced narrative and better dialogue. Still not sure how this could be contained within Marvel's formula though. Serious sort of mythic drama interwoven into a Kirbyesque film would make it unique; just a crowd pleaser probably could go with a property less complicated though.

Anyway, here's some thoughts I had on this months ago:

The eternals versus the new gods? Interesting. Not top of my list though if I’ve got to be honest
