Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

fake_Marvel.jpg

:pal: Had someone on facebook try to argue with me that this pic was the real upcoming mcu movie slate. He even linked this article (which he obviously hadn't read) as proof: http://collider.com/upcoming-new-superhero-movies-2016-2020-release-dates/

Believe it or not he suggested I do some research online so I could see the authenticity of this fan made pic, when a simple google search of the fake film titles (not to mention some common sense; they're going to reveal the title of Captain Marvel's next movie in the middle of filming the first one...?) would've let him know what's up. :hehe:

These are all too messy to be anywhere close to where they want to go. I totally believe Thor is over. No spoilers, no nothing. Each of the phase 1 heroes got 3 films. That's more than enough.

They probably won't separate Ant-Man and the Wasp as they have the same sort of power/vibe. Also 2 Spider-man films with different logos? This is just too geared towards a fan's "dream".

The Eternals, Agents of Atlas (Randall Park is playing Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and The Wasp), and other unexplored titles from Marvel's universe will hopefully be explored instead.

With Marvel stating that theyll be going more cosmic in Phase 4 i suspect that a Cosmic team will be taking the place of the Avengers.

The Lineup will be Thor,Captain Marvel,Sersi,Dr Strange and Adam Warlock.
So heres how Phase 4 goes

2019
Spiderman 2

2020
Gotg3(Introduces Warlock)
Strange 2
Eternals(Introduces Sersi)

2021
Antman3
Bp2
Widow

2022
Cap Marvel 2

Cosmic Team(Big crossover event for phase 4)

Spiderman 3

Not sure what we would call this Cosmic team.Defenders would have been great but its taken.
So ill go with.....Ultimates

I don't think the Avengers are going anywhere. Specific characters, yes, but I strongly suspect there is going to be a new Avengers team coming out of Avengers 4, especially given the insane box office haul for Black Panther.

So my tentative guesses for Phase 4:

- Spider-Man Homecoming sequel (confirmed)

- Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 (confirmed)

- Nova

- Black Widow

- Doctor Strange 2

- Black Panther 2

- The Eternals

- Ant-Man & the Wasp sequel

- New Avengers (Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Valkyrie, Ant-Man, Wasp and maybe Sersi and Nova)

- Fantastic Four reboot (?)

Sounds accurate.

I'm assuming the "New Avengers" will consist of Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp and probably Spidey.

Guardians Vol 3, Captain Marvel, The Eternals and Nova are most likely Marvels next cosmic movies.

I'm not interested in seeing Doctor Strange join the Avengers. I would rather see him leading his supernatural team the Midnight Sons in a movie.

2019
Spider-Man: Europe Trip

2020
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Doctor Strange 2
Black Panther Returns

2021
Ant-Man and the Goliath
Fantastic Four
Captain Marvel Rises

2022
Avengers Five

I’m dying for blade in phase 4. I suppose blade and black widow would be perfect for new franchises until phase 5 when the ff and the xmen are ready

MCU Reboot Phase 1 The New Era.

Spiderman 2
Guardians 3
Black Widdow
Strange 2
Panther 2
Antman 3/Antman and the Wasp 2
Cap Marvel 2
Blade
Scarlet Witch
Avengers 5

Thought I'd throw my hat in. Take it with a grain of salt.

I feel like we'll get the Fantastic Four this phase but aside from them, Fox characters will mostly be mined for villains.

Doom will likely debut in Black Panther 2.
The Brood should show up in Captain Marvel 2.
Kang needs to be part of Avengers 5.
Introduce the Shi'Ar in a cameo in Guardians 3.

I'd like to see the Shi'Ar. Would be interesting to see if there would ever be any MCU interaction between them and the Skrulls and Kree.

Phase 4
2019
Spider-Man: Showtime (intro Mary Jane and Harry? Villain: Chameleon and Mysterio)

2020
Guardians 3 (villain magus-esque adam warlock)
Doctor Strange 2 (villains mordo and Nightmare)
Black Widow (let's see some Bucky and Hawkeye too)

2021
Black Panther 2 (villain Baron Macabre)
Spider-Man: Graduation (intro gwen, norman. villain Kraven, Rhino)
Nova (intro Thanos sacking Xandar, RIP John c Riley)

2022
The Thunderbolts (marvel's suicide squad. Assembled by Ross. Led by zemo. I'd like to see Hulk, Bucky and Falcon appear and try to take them down. This would be the event film that "ends" phase 4)

Great list

- Thunderbolts (they have been building up Ross in CW & IW)

Me too. I wonder who they will cast as lilandra and deathBird? They would be great for a guardians of the galaxy movie or even captain marvel

what I find strange is that MCU releases for 2019 are in March, May, and July. Which leaves the entire fall and winter open. Is there a possibility for a secret late 2019 release?

Captain Britain and Darkhawk were both properties that Marvel owned but couldn't use due to the former's ties to Psylocke and Excalibur and the latter's ties to the Shi'Ar.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them greenlit before the X-Men come in Phase 5.

Captain Britain would be interesting! But I'd rather see them do Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and X-Men.

I doubt it, unless aside from cm/sh2, they start filming something this year for a late 2019 release. Gotg is already confirmed for a spring 2019 filming start and that is obviously getting a 2020 release.

I don't think we'll be seeing the Xmen or F4 until phase 4 (or the equivalent). Marvel already had films planned out till 2022 before this talk of gaining the F4 and Xmen rights, and I'd rather Marvel took their time and waited for a space to open up, rather than rushing things. There's no real reason to rush.

So Phase 4 will likely introduce new, more obscure properties - elevating them to household name status just as they did for the GotG. Darkhawk, Captain Britain, Nova and America Chavez are all strong possibilities imo.

Don't see why the couldn't have used them. They would've just had to eliminate and replace certain elements.

Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America (Barnes), Ant-Man, Wasp & Mantis

;)

What would people think of maybe retooling Captain Britain into something like "Children of Merlin" featuring Braddock and Pyslocke as co-leads? The arthurian inspired lore is an interesting place I'd love to see the MCU explore but I feel like the Captain Britain wrapping is a bit of a problem. Not only would a third Captain franchise be a little repetitive, and at first glance would seem like a Captain America knockoff to general audiences, but the whole "flag-waving embodiment of a nation's values" isn't really how us brits do patriotism. In Britain excessive flag waving has connotations of xenophobia. We've got patriotism in buckets but we're more low key about it.

So instead, take Braddock, give him the name Merlinson, cast british-asian actors for him and Psylocke and go from there.

Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America (Barnes), Ant-Man, Wasp & Mantis

;)

My picks for a new Avengers lineup

Captain Marvel
Doctor Strange
Spiderman
Black Panther
Black Widow
Hulk
Ant-Man
Merlinson (aka Captain Britain)
Sersi
White Wolf/Bucky Cap

All the franchise leads get a slot on the team so Cpt. Marvel, Strange, Spidey, BP, Widow and Ant-Man all seem quite certain. Likewise for Braddock and Sersi as I think those are our next new franchise. There's an argument for keeping the Eternals cosmic and off-earth, but Sersi seems like a really fun character who, if cast right, could fill in the charisma vacuum left behind by Stark. Not that the others aren't charismatic in their own way, but she fills in the fun-loving party animal slot. I think it'll be good to have her integrated and interacting with the rest of the cast as soon as possible. Bucky seems set up for a major role in phase 4, as the new Captain America and/or as White Wolf. And Hulk...well it feels like he is only growing in popularity and his potential in the MCU is just beginning. But where to put him? So you've at least got to give him a place in the Avengers.

They are not ditching the old guard while they are still profitable. There’s no guarantee that Captain Marvel or Black Widow are going to be a huge success like Black Panther. They will do well in USA but overseas female led movies don’t do well. Wonder Woman had the same problem which stopped it from being a monster hit. So I’m almost certain unless the original line up won’t renew their contracts they will be around for a few more years. That’s just smart albeit obvious business sense.

Sounds like a good lineup. Maybe Thor will be around too as he also seems to have just got going. Cap and Iron Man have had a great run but I think there is more that Hulk and Thor could give us.

Kevin Feige confirms there are plans for Ms. Marvel.
