Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I've heard rumours that there's not the best of feelings between Olsen and Larson, partly for the reasons you've stated above.

But then there also seems to be a bit of bad blood between Hemsworth, Cheadle and Renner with Larson as well. Of course there's the infamous interview featuring Hemworth, Cheadle and Larson where Hemsworth mentions how she's stolen the torch and where she announces it's a fact that she is the most powerful.

Now are they just ribbing each other? Well, their body language and micro expressions are different to when the others tease each other. So there seems to be something there quite possibly.

There's a smear campaign against Brie propagate this idea that the other cast members don't like her and she's causing trouble on set. It's the same people adamant that Captain Marvel would flop and ruin the MCU. They're very invested in smearing Marvel's first female lead film franchise.

Phase 4 movies

Black widow (origin)

The Eternals

Spider-Man 3

Black panther 2(introduce namor)

Ant-man and the wasp 3

Guardians of the galaxy 3 (w/Thor)

Captain marvel 3

Doctor strange 2

Shang-chi

X-men

Fantastic four

Not sure of the order but that’s what I think

I hope they will hold a phase 4 announcement event. The announcement of phase 3 films was exciting and they really made an effort to do it with a live audience.

Though I'm hoping if there's gonna be one, even if they don't reveal the complete title for the sequels, that they would stick to the release order of the films, especially they got most of the film rights now. I'm not complaining that we got Spidey and Ant-Man 2 in phase 3, but at that time, they didn't even have Ant-Man 2 in the line up and there was the Inhumans debacle.

I hope they will have an announcement this year, so I don't have to make guesses for the p4 line up.

Shame for them that the MCU box office till has gone into orbit since this campaign started.

This "rumor" literally starts and ends with a Youtuber who has a long and strong track record of dogging the MCU.

And I truly question anyone's grasp on human behavior if they don't get that the cast ribs one another for these press junkets to make the press junkets bearable by having some fun, because few actors like doing them.

I'm really interested to see what they do with the Eternals, it seems like they scraped the bottom of the barrel with that one.

I thought Black Widow is coming out very late. But MCU should have more female led films, and I liked BW in Endgame so much.

While Shang-Chi is gonna feel the void of lack of street heroes in the MCU. I like that they are going beyond just a movie role, and giving Shang his own film. And that he won't be wasted in TV/streaming. Daredevil, Mockingbird, Elektra, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Cloak, Dagger, Ghost Rider, the Punisher and the Inhumans could have definitely pop up somewhere in the movies, if they don't headline a film.

Phase 4 guess:
Black Widow (origin with Hawkeye)
The Eternals
Spider-Man 3 (with Pepper/Rescue, Happy, Rhodey & Oscorp)
Black Panther 2
Captain Marvel 2 (with Fury & Hill)
Guardians 3 (with Thor, Adam Warlock & Nova)
Ant-Man 3 (with Wasp)
Shang-Chi
Doctor Strange 2
Fantastic Four (with Banner & Doom)
X-Men/X-Force
Avengers

I would be mildly surprised with the absorption of Fox, MCU will still make 3 releases a year. They will have the capacity of 4 releases perhaps one with a lesser budget a more niche/experimental type and three bona fide blockbusters but they will be fools not to capitalize on the wave they are riding with a huge financial backing and audience trust, who knows how long will that last. This means Feige would need more people to oversee the projects who share his vision to maintain the consistency and manage the extra load though I can imagine a few names already he can draw upon within the existing environment.

I guess 1 film for Spidey, Ant-Man, Avengers, Black panther, Strange, Marvel are a given then add the new 2 franchises + the Black Widow prequel, thats already whooping 9 films. I'm interested to know the reasoning why we are getting new properties before Strange 2. If phase 4 ends in 2023, and they intend to start phase 5 in 2024. I guess there are 2 more films for other ips in phase 4 (for a total of 11 films) which could be for the F4/X-Men?

As for 4 films a year, It wasn't like foX was holding them back to do more films. Also Sony could just be filling the void that FoX's Marvel movies will left from now on. Thing is a production studio like Marvel Stud10s would require more time, manpower and effort to do 4 films per year. It would put more pressure on Kevin Feige to release films on time and maintain quality. If we only get 2 films next year because Gotg 3 was delayed. Imagine how are they gonna juggle 12 films in just 3 years. Thats an insane amount of work. Plus they will be dedicating their time/effort for those Disney + shows as well. So 4 films per year because foX's Marvel films aren't around isn't gonna happen.

They need to get on the F4 soon. None of the 2020 MCU movies interest me..

Yeah, I hate to say it, but the post Endgame, the MCU is starting to lose my interest. I have close to zero interest in Shang-Chi and Eternals. Black Panther and Captain Marvel, honestly, didn't do a lot for me. They were good films, but they didn't leave me saying: "I can't wait to see where things go from here!"

I'm probably most interested in Dr. Strange and Guardians, but even they're not absolute must-sees at the moment.

I really want to see what Marvel will do with FF and X-Men, and those are the ones that will get me excited. Many of the others may be "wait for video" for me.

One thing I'm wondering: Is Spider-Man gonna be one of the main Avengers (like Tony, Cap or Thor) in the new era of MCU ? I feel like everyone is talking about Strange and Captain Marvel being the new main faces, while Spider-Man, with all his popularity, is completely ignored.

So new Far From Home trailer out. Seems to confirm the multiverse is real.

This may be how they introduce X-men and Fantastic Four eventually. Plus also means Sony could in theory have MCU Spider-man be in a movie with Venom down the road if they wanted to.

The animated movie helped people get the concept of multi-verse so it may be an easier sell in live action now.

I'm starting to feel that way a little bit as well. I am excited for more Captain Marvel and the Strange sequel and I'm interested in Shang-Chi too. I'm not big on the Guardians property as much as others are, Black Panther 2 doesn't totally excite me..

I can understand. I was definitely not on board when Cap and Thor movies first came out. I thought the entire thing kinda lame. Then the sequels started coming.... thank God I continued giving the MCU a chance.

I'll still see them all opening night and chances are once we get info and footage I'll become more excited. I'm with ya on Thor though, wasn't too excited for his film when it first came out.

Does every new franchise in the MCU require a multiverse angle now to "explain" things for the hard core fan types?

I mean... You can apply these questions to many more of the possible upcoming IPs, not just FF and X-Men... Does that make any real sense or sound satisfying when the whole point of getting things like the IPs back from FOX was that they can now have characters interact on a regular basis?

11 years of fanboys and fangirls hyperventilating about not having the FF or X-Men in the MCU and now suddenly... The trend around here is to want the FF and the X-men to be from an alternate reality where they won't interact with the other heroes of the MCU and will show up only during interdimensional crossover stories?

I’m most excited for Eternals, Black Widow, a Captain Marvel sequel, and Doctor Strange 2, in that order. But Shang-Chi could be really cool, Black Panther 2 will probably be good, and GotG3 at least has Thor now, so that will help. WandaVision is actually becoming one of my most anticipated Marvel projects too, as is Falcon & The Winter Soldier. I have zero interest in a Hawkeye show, and I’m nervous about the Loki show.

He will. him headlining films and that its Spider-Man are giveaways.

Not sure how reliable, but that same site also posted this today:

Marvel Sets Three MCU Release Dates For 2022!

We know the Marvel release dates through 2021, but this morning Disney announced release dates through 2027 (mostly for Star Wars and Avatar), but as part of it we now have three untitled Marvel films for 2022.

The release dates are:
February 18, 2022
May 6, 2022
July 29, 2022

The speculation will now begin as to what films will occupy those spots. One of them could be Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. For the rest we’ll just have to wait for Marvel to announce their Phase 4 plans, which is likely going to take place in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con this July

The list I see from Disney has only 2 releases for Marvel in 2022, February and July. No May. Some press also has three I think though. And 2 also for 2020 plus New Mutants under Fox. Only year there are 3 Marvel is 2021. Maybe one in 2022 is another Spider-Man solo so Disney can list it as theirs. The movie side could also slow because some resources are pulled for the TV streaming side especially Disney needs to have comparable quality as the movies.
