Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I don't really think not having the Phase 3 line-up for a few more months is gonna kill anyone. Remember when WB announced their DCEU slate back in 2014 and how a good chunk of them missed their release dates or got dropped?

It's in the results.

Eternals is really the only Marvel film I'm stoked for in 2020. Couldn't care less about Black Widow especially after seeing Endgame. Of course a trailer could sway me the other way but Eternals I think could be Marvel'a next Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Exactly. I'm sure they have an idea of which films will be released when, but why announce it all when they might not even know?

Going to be hard to muster any excitement for a Black Widow spin-off for me. I think it would be more interesting for it to take place within the five years that the snap was still in effect in the MCU before the victims were brought back than after Civil War.

Agree. But they missed the boat on her films anyway. It all feels a bit token now.

I like the cast for Black Widow so far, but after Endgame it almost feels pointless. I'll still be there opening night in IMAX, but as of now I'm not "excited"

Why does everyone think that Black Panther will come out in May? Black History Month worked wonders for the first film.

I guess they think it will follow guardians in that it opened August then the sequel moved to May. But im with you that Feb 2021 slot is most certainly black panther 2.The Feb 2022 movie might get bumped to March which is probably captain marvel 2.

Well that’ll be confusing. But I guess then they can have cameos from a ton of Marvel people for more box office.

Captain America even.
Doubt it. I don't see them mixing it with some time travel twist.

I'm looking forward to Shang-Chi and the Eternals and I'm really curious what the Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange sequels will look like
I'm interested to see how self contained they would be, meaning if there aren't gonna be any Avengers or any characters from the other parts/franchise of the Mcu joining Capt. Marvel / Dr. Strange in the film as a supporting character. And if the sequel is going to be like TDW or TWS.

Going on previous talk of Avengers 5 coming no sooner than 2024, recent rumours about an Avengers movie as early as 2022, and then whispers of Dark Avengers being on the cards, I'm going to take a long shot and call Dark Avengers as the new property for 2022 and "Avengers 5" proper for May 2024.

Over/under on MCU X-Men being announced on the slate before year's end?
I wager around December.

Its hard to say. It depends how truthful Feige is when he says they aren't even thinking about the Fox properties yet. Or if he was just saying that because the deal had literally just closed at the time and Dark Phoenix isn't out yet. Its interesting cause if they do the Phase 4 reveal at comic con by then Dark Phoenix will have been out for 4-5 weeks.

Feige might just be doing the honourable thing by not pooping on Fox's final X-Men movie and having a bit of respect by not talking about the elephant in the room the inevitable MCU reboot. Everyone including Fox knows the MCU reboot is coming its just good business on Disney's part to not start talking about said reboot in-front of the general audience.. When Dark Phoenix is already projected to open at an abysmal $50M. So will it be announced by the end of the year? could go either way really.

Yep, exactly what I think.

I'd say 10%. They aren't likely to announce MCU X-Men movies while X-movies are tanking at the box office (New Mutants being a 2020 release). It's more reasonable to me that they would wait for the stench of the movies to pass before announcing a relaunch.

Damn it. Keep forgetting about New Mutants lol what on earth is Disney thinking pushing this back to 2020? Its only going to delay the X-Men introduction to MCU further. I just cant understand Disney's logic even keeping this film on the slate unless it was part of the merger contract that it has to be released. Dark Phoenix I get. Because it was basically done at that point and too much money had been sunk into it. But whats the logic behind keeping new mutants and spending even more money on it? Doesn't make sense. Unless Feige liked what he saw and they are going to retrofit it into the MCU.

I say 60%. :D
I expect New Mutants to be removed from the releases slate this summer, after Dark Phoenix has run its course.

I would eXpect them announing it at end of the year or neXt year, if only they are almost done with their most of their franchises. Ant-Man, Gotg and Spider-Man are still years away from their 3rd movie. Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange and Black Panther have yet to start filming their second solo movie. Then there's the Eternals and Shang Chi joining the MCU. Thats whopping 8 properties to handle. And we would probably gonna see Avengers 5 before the MCU X-Men as I doubt, they would want to abandon the Avengers for a long time.

Nope, I’d wager there’s a better chance of FF being announced this year than the X-Men(though I expect neither FF and Mutants will be announced this year). I’m suspect we’ll get announcements/news about them next year.
