Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I wouldn’t read too much into that. He was like just referring to the Mutants in general, and his wording was specifically referring to the race of characters and how they will be integrated into that universe. They’ve only been developing X-Men for a few months after got the rights back. No official title has been decided upon yet.

Superhero redemption time for David Harbour!

Also, Awkwafina is in the MCU. I loved her in Crazy Rich Asians.

I shake my head every time I hear her stage name. Like that was the best she could come up with? What joke.

Teyonah Parris joins Leticia Wright, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Zoe Saldana, Tessa Thompson and Lupita Nyong'o in the MCU among black women. Now we can discuss who should play Storm and probably Misty Knight since she's likely getting a reboot.

I think they should just stick with Simone Missick as Misty Knight.

Kiki Layne for Storm

I know Feige was saying that Phase 4 and the future of the MCU would be different after Endgame and Phase 3 but it does feel strange that there won't seemingly be any Avengers film to mark the end of a phase for awhile.

Well, tonight was great. I don't expect we'll hear much more at D23 to be honest. I think Star Wars will be the main attraction there with TROS and The Mandalorian still to be released this year. I think we'll likely be waiting until at least next year to learn more about BP2, CM2 and the other films. I'm satisfied with what they showed though!

I still think the 2020/2021 slate is a bit underwhelming. (And I know they can build hype).

But wow, what an all-stars cast they're getting. It gets better and better.
Y! 'Bout 3 feeling +,the rest is wait & see.

I think ant man might be done he had a great ending though so can't complain.

Hope he appears in other films.

Maybe they do something different and phase 5 begins with avengers 5

I love how Feige opened up Phase 4 and all future phases to include Tv series now. I fully expect Daredevil (keep Charlie Cox and D’Onofrio please) in Phase 5 as well as Ghost Rider and Moon Knight movies/series, a Nova movie and F4 and X Men movies.

It’s a revolutionary thing honestly - to make their streaming series as part of their tent pole phase releases- almost as big if not bigger than the first Avengers. Since TV/series are now the greatest medium and have leapfrogged movies in every aspect as far as I’m concerned (except for box office revenue of course). We will not truly appreciate just how monumental this decision is until the first series has been positively received. This will change the way pop culture is produced as much as Netflix has.

So phase 4 will have 6 movies if you include Blade? Rather short phase on the theatrical side compared to Phase 3, but we do get 4 TV series and 1 animated show.

Note: The audio cuts out intermittently, so make the most of it.

Only part of the Phase was revealed, just the first couple years. Feige did spit out a bunch of films at the end just before the Blade reveal that he didn’t go in depth on though, including Mutants and the Fantastic Four.

So far, they've got 5 films and 4 TV series that are canonically MCU with the 5th TV series being an animated one that provides alternate takes on certain MCU moments. This is just for 2020 and 2021. Phase 4 will likely run through 2024 and include films such as: BP2, GOTG3, CM2, Blade, Fantastic Four, Mutants/X-Men, likely Sony/MCU Spider-Man 3, andpossibly Ant-Man 3, not to mention any other Disney+ shows they try to include as well. That potentially makes Phase 4 the longest, most densely-packed phase of the entire MCU.

I'm surprised Marvel is actually going to use Blade in the MCU and on the big screen as I expected them to bring that character to Hulu like Ghost Rider but that's awesome!

Fantastic Four was teased but are they for Phase IV?

While I'm excited for Blade and Shang Chi, I'm alittle underwhelmed by the announcements. Not really sure why. Maybe because Phase 4 needed a couple big familiar Marvel characters mixed in like Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man.

I'm happy Doctor Strange is going for a more horror direction. Don't know why they didn't do that in the first place having hired Scott Derrickson and C Robert Cargill.

I'm a bit underwhelmed as well but we have to remember this is just the first 2 years of Phase 4. They've got 9 MCU canon projects that'll be in production and released the next couple of years, which is a lot to ask of a company that has never really done more than 3 or 4 at a time. I think Feige will want to see how much of this goes before setting the schedule for projects set for the latter half of Phase 4.

As for DS not including more horror aspects, Derrickson said he had included them in his initial drafts but Feige told him to hold off on some of those for sequels and to allow moviegoers/fans to get slowly acclimated to Doctor Strange's world instead of going all out right away.

Big and familiar names are a good thing to me. I like obscure or lesser known characters getting some love and becoming bigger but I mostly prefer the big ones getting taken care of first

Lots of cool announcement but nothing mindblowing, though Blade joining the MCU is pretty awesome.

I feel so bad for Ant-Man... the character has so much potential, but Marvel doesn't seem to know what to do with him.

What do you mean? He has two solo films, was a part of a major scene in Civil War and had a big role in Endgame. Ant-man 3 is like coming later on
