So Marvel Studios will be releasing 4 movies and 4 to 5 TV shows a year.
Wow
Wow
Its clear to me that the Fox purchase has forced them to increase the output of films. I’d be very surprised if none of these dates don’t involve the ex-Fox characters. There’s no way Marvel would date four movies a year if not for the Fox purchase. I expect an official announcement of Fantastic Four and Deadpool 3 next year.
Fox didn’t really have much of a output to begin with; prior to being bought they’d normally release like one or two Marvel movies a year. I think Marvel doing four movies a year allows them room to potentially fit Fox properties in there. It’s not a guarantee obviously and yeah the motive for doing four movies a year may partly have something to do with Disney doubling down on Marvel in order to fill in the hole left by Star Wars forthcoming hiatus but I personally think Marvel has figured out when they want to do films about the Fox characters like DP and FF and they’re going to fit them in the schedule along with rest of the movies they planned. There is no reason why that should be the case. The Fox aquisition actually doesn't alow them to produce the same output Fox normally would have had prior. Having more characters should actually improve the long game. It's likely Disney just doubling down on Marvel because it will benefit their new streamer with huge IP, as well as filling up the financial hole that the Star Wars theatrical hiatus will create. I'm not saying it can't work, it just dramitically increases the chance of burnout, of audience fatigue.
They'll end up cannibalizing themselves. Not a fan of this strategy at all.
Also, I'm not sure if all these shows are intended to last beyond a season.
I doubt that's gonna happen without eXhausting themselves. 4 movies in 1 year might be a 1 time thing because of Sony and they could still move Thor 4 in 2022.So Marvel Studios will be releasing 4 movies and 4 to 5 TV shows a year.
Wow
That is a crazy budget! $200m for an 8 episode show. I hope we see all of that on screen. If they're really spending $25mil per ep on these things, then they might as well be 8-hour movies, as it pretty much makes them the most expensive TV shows ever made (other than maybe Amazon's upcoming LotR show) and gives those short seasons higher budgets than a lot of MCU films have had. They're certainly gonna want to justify that kind of investment.
I think the biggest tie-ins with the movies will be that they introduce characters that will feature in them. So like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Kate Bishop will have decent-sized roles in future MCU films.
There isn't going to be a Hulk and a She Hulk film due to Universal having the distribution rights. A streaming show is another matter. But those two will appear somewhere beside the D+ show. My best bet is in Avenger5.Does anyone think we'll get a solo continuation of the Hulk franchise in some sense with all these movies coming out? I mean they're committed to a She-Hulk TV show so the IP they're still trying to develop.
This Wolverine and Hulk movie involving Alpha Flight rumor (or soft segue into the X-Men franchise approach) this past Summer even if true to some extent could be 1 of many directions Marvel still may need to approach decision wise based on any number of behind the scenes factors that can change with time.
Still, so many movies I wonder if Marvel Studio's may opt to instead continue the franchise outright in some form or manner. Kevin Feige liked Ruffalo's idea of Hulk as a mentor of sorts in an interview a week or 2 ago so perhaps Savage Banner Hulk is no more but could lead into something else?
You really need to learn how to paraphrase. My guesses for Phase 5 stuff in 2022 and 2023 are
2022 Films
Ant-Man, The Wasp and Sature - I'm assuming that Atlas and Whirlwind will be the villains, hopefully manipulated by Psycho-Man. Whirlwind would help to set up mutants, Atlas would go on to join the Thunderbolts and Stature would join the Champions.
Black Panther 2 - Confirmed. Seriously hoping for Doctor Doom as the villain.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 - Assuming that Magus is the villain. Guessing that the new team will be made up of Adam Warlock, Darkhawk, Nikki Gold, Nova, Martyr and Moondragon. Star Lord, Nebula and Gamora retire to Galador where they meet Ikon and the other Spaceknights. Rocket retires along with Lylla. Groot is revealed to be a prince on Planet X and becomes the king of his people. Drax retires with Mantis and Drax's daughter Moondragon takes over for them.
Blade - I think we'll see Dracula as the big bad. Seriously hoping that Ali uses a British accent and the film is set in New Orleans. And we get some jazz music.
2023 Films
Fantastic Four - I think we''ll see Annihilus as the villain and he'll set up Guardians 5 for Phase 6. Since Tim Story ruined the 616 origin and Josh Trank ruined the Ultimate origin, I think we'll get an origin which is a combination of both where four astronauts take a spaceship through a wormhole to the Negative Zone and come back changed.
Spider-Man 4 - Likely setting up Peter's college years at ESU with Randy Robertson as his new BFF, Gwen Stacy as his new love interest and Doc Ock as May's new fiance/the villain of the movie with Spencer Smythe as a side-villain and Norman Osborn as larger looming threat. (I'm assuming that Kraven, Scorpion and Beetle will all appear in the third film.) The cold open would feature Spider-Man fighting Joystick. Doc Ock starts out as simply a scientist working for Oscorp who then gets diagnosed with cancer and attempts to blow up the entire East Coast when he's told that he only has a 50% chance of survival. Peter needs to not only fight off Spencer Smythe's Spider Slayers but also try to save Doc Ock not only from the authorities but also himself. This is a film where the hero actually cares about the villain and doesn't want to kill him or even see him behind bars. At the end, Spencer Smythe sacrifices himself to sabotage Otto's plans and Peter helps Otto escape the police. This sets up Sony's spin-off the Sinister Six with a roster of Vulture, Shocker, Scorpion, Mysterio, Kraven and Doc Ock. Gwen also gets spider-powers in the final battle but doesn't get a costume yet.
Captain Marvel 2 - Galen Kor and his Lunatic Legion come to Earth to put Carol on Trial from crimes against the Kree Empire and bring in a clone of Ronan the Accuser to try her. Carol decides to accept a trial in order to spare the Earth and winds up... acquitted of all charges. She also gets a new flerkin named Chewie.
A-Force - The women of the Marvel universe team up to fight a rogue general named Raven Darkholme, her adoptive daughter Anna Marie Darkholme and her son Kurt Wagner until realizing that there's a larger threat on the horizon... an arms dealer named Eric Williams who has empowered and revived his deceased brother, a washed up actor named Simon. Eric plans on breeding super soldiers to build an army which can conquer the world and his second success was a woman named Mel Gold who eventually betrays Eric alongside Simon but ends up on The Raft for her crimes while Simon is offered a chance to join the Avengers. Mystique, Rogue and Nightcrawler and revealed to have never been villains but instead been opposing ACTUAL rogue factions in the government. Anna steals Carol Danvers' powers early on. We meet a second Valkyrie (Samantha Parrington) and the full team is both Valkyries, Captain Marvel, Sersi, Shuri, Rescue, Crystal, She-Hulk, Quake, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, and Jane Foster. Rogue joins at the end. A-Force then decide to call up the boys to found a new team of Avengers and Wasp even managed to pick out a certain mansion in Manhattan which was up for sale.
2024 films
Champions - Kate Bishop, Wiccan, Hulkling, Patriot, Ironheart, Ms. Marvel and Stature team up to fight AIM under Monica Rappacini and her greatest creation, the Super Adaptoid.
Ravagers - Michael Korvac is simply an ordinary man from Earth given extraordinary abilities by the Badoon. He then betrays them and conquers their world vowing to conquer the entire universe. That's when he manages to cross paths with the Ravagers who agree to combine their fleets to take down Korvac and his Badoon army. Stakar and Aleta combine into Starhawk.
Thunderbolts - Baron Zemo hires the Ghost to stage a prison break on The Raft to free Beetle, Taskmaster, Atlas, Songbird, Bullseye and Joystick and manage to link up with Yelena Belova, Blizzard and MCU newcomer Jolt along the way. That's when Zemo meets his greatest adversary, Sinthia Schmidt, the granddaughter of the Red Skull. Zemo's own grandfather led HYDRA during the final months of World War 2 and was a Nazi collaborator by the name of Heinrich Zemo. He retired to South America where he built a secret HYDRA compound which was developing weapons of mass destruction. Sinthia doesn't like Helmut being able to challenge her claim to be the rightful ruler of HYDRA which leads to Helmut's Thunderbolts killing Sinthia, taking over HYDRA and then plotting world domination for themselves. They know that there are greater threats to the world than themselves which is why they know that they must also defend the world they're trying to conquer.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty - Natalia Romanova has reappeared. Mysteriously alive again, she rejoins the Avengers but has no recollection of how she died... until she begins betraying each of them one by one. She knows all their weaknesses, even those she never met before like Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, Blade, She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Once the Avengers manage to finally defeat her and ask why she's betraying them, the Avengers look up at New York City and see a helmeted man on screen who says that his name is Nathaniel Kang Richards programming himself emperor of the World. He says that he once served another Nate in his original time and together they were part of a brotherhood called the Askani. In his future, the world was ruled under the iron fist of Apocalypse and Stryfe and Nathan Summers asked Kang to return to our time to rule the world to stop Apocalypse from taking over. He managed to bring the Black Widow back to life using his powers of time manipulation to stop the Avengers from preventing what he had to do to save our world. On this eve of Apocalypse's resurrection, Kang has conquered our world within the span of 30 seconds. Except Kang eventually proves to be a horrible tyrant who rules the world with an iron fist, begins executing former world leaders as well as his own generals, violently crushes rebellions against him, jails any local leader who he feels may one day betray him and appoints the Black Widow as his chief enforcer. Kang is later revealed to be a liar. He never brought Black Widow to the present from the past, he simply took a clone which was awakening in a Red Room cryostasis lab and told her that that she was brought to the present by Kang with the half-truth that the Avengers would one day murder her. Kang himself is actually a traitor to the Askani who really murdered Cable's lover Jenskot and arrived five years before Apocalypse was to awaken so that he would arrive in the past long before Cable did. The Avengers own actions during Endgame actually created an infinite number of universes which Kang was able to traverse and make his way to the MCU where he'd turn himself into an army through virtually infinite copies of himself arriving simultaneously. The Avengers decide that they need somebody even smarter than Reed Richards to save the day, particularly somebody who deeply understands time travel and bring in Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne from the 1970s who then tell them they should bring back a symbol of hope for the world to rally around so that the people may rise up against Kang. They need Captain America and they need to bring him back from an idyllic life with Peggy Carter in the 1950s so he may lead the Avengers once again. Steve realizes that he has to give up everything he has to save the world and thus heads to the present where he manages to get Clone Widow to betray Kang but all the Avengers are defeated by the Kangs until an old man appears out of nowhere and is actually Kang's own future self, Immortus. It's Immortus who tells Kang that he will never stop regretting killing Steve Rogers since that's the moment when he realized that he was no hero but a villain. Immortus' entire life from this point forward has been that of a reluctant tyrant. Kang then kills Immortus out of anger which gives him the same realization that he's simply power hungry and all the Kangs suddenly spare the Avengers (except for the Kang who still wants to rule who's then shot by at least a dozen other Kangs simultaneously). The Kangs realize that there must only be one of them and they return to other times to live out the rest of their lives in peace except for the one who remains behind in the MCU to simply see how things turn out in exchange for amnesty. He's spared simply based on his knowledge of future events which may prove useful to the Avengers (and later the X-Men) but warns of a world destroying Phoenix Force which will be the endgame of Phase 8...
Also during Phase 5, I want to see the following happen on TV
Falcon and the Winter Soldier Season 2 - Sam and Bucky investigate the mysterious reappearance of a cryogenically frozen man named William Burnside who was apparently the Captain America of the Vietnam War. Burnside has teamed up with the Watchdogs and plans on destroying the Hoover Dam to make a statement about what he perceives as America's moral decline. Burnside no longer recognizes the America he hasn't seen since 1969 and as the Watchdogs' new Grand Director, he's vowing to destroy the United States one city at a time. When searching for leads on Burnside, Sam and Bucky come across the name Weapon X which apparently doesn't exist yet was the project which turned Steve Rogers into the first Captain America. Their only leads are a Canadian immigrant living in Chicago named Wade Wilson (who isn't particularly helpful and serves as more of a single-episode guest star) and the Bradley family down in Mississippi. It's when they investigate the Bradleys that they learn about Isaiah Bradley who served as the Captain America of the Korean War. After Steve Roger's death, Weapon X continued without Abraham Erskine and instead was led by a man named Doctor Nathaniel Essex. Essex's own life story appears to be a dead end as all records of his existence remain classified other than the fact that he was born in the UK back in the 19th Century and majored in biology before joining a secret team of British scientists. After Steve's apparent death, Essex used Weapon X to experiment on segregated black units to recreate the Erskine forumla. Isaiah Bradley was the only survivor. It's the young boy named Eli who's the most forthcoming about his now deceased great grandfather who always told them how Essex still appeared to be a relatively young man in the 1940s, how he claims that he was gifted eternal life by a living god and how his own blood was used to not only recreate the Erskine formula but also how he wanted to further evolution by turning people into, "mutants" whose descendants would inherit their incredible powers. Isaiah was the only survivor of Essex's experiments. When asking Eli if he had inherited any of his great grandfather's powers, Eli says that he's the running back on his school's varsity team and is going to graduate as the valedictorian in his class. He already has a full-ride scholarship to any school he wants and then demonstrates superhuman agility. That's when they're attacked by assassins from Weapon X named Rachel Leighton and Victor Creed. Rachel uses diamond coated bullets which can pierce through any surface and Victor is one of Essex's own experiments from the 1980s, albeit with a healing factor which keeps him from aging. Victor proves to be nearly unkillable no matter what Sam and Bucky throw at him and spends the second half of the season apparently dying but then coming back to life. Rachel is simply a sniper who forces them to always stay one step ahead of everyone else. Essex does NOT likely anyone knowing about Weapon X and to make matters worse, Peggy Carter allegedly knew about everything he was doing and was fully complicit in his inhumane experiments, as were the American, British, French and Canadian governments but simply hid all knowledge of Weapon X from Steve Rogers. Eli Bradley helps with the first fight against Sabretooth and Diamondback and even wears his great grandfather's uniform with the shield. It's when Sam and Bucky arrive at the Hoover Dam to confront Burnside in the season finale that Rachel changes sides when she realizes, Victor is kicked off the edge of the dam by Burnside and Burnside is finally defeated when Bucky simply shoots him. Bucky and Diamondback become a couple as do Sharon Carter and Sam Wilson.
Power Pack (on Disney+. Ongoing series.)
Wolverine (on Hulu. Ongoing series) - What starts as a Southeast Asian gangster series with a tone like the Raid begins to resemble From Dusk Till Dawn as it becomes a story of a Russian vampire who once allegedly fought Patch Logan during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan wanting a carbonadium synthesizer which will cure him of his vampirism but also kill hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Logan begins to recall his past after receiving a head injury at the hands of Omega Red and only with the help of a man named Christoph Nord who remembers Logan but Logan can only begin to recall is he able to defeat Omega Red once and for all.
Storm (on Disney+. Ongoing series) - Ororo Munroe has traveled across Africa ever since the death of her parents. A chance encounter with a psionically powered being named Ahmal Farouk in Egypt who she is only to defeat with the help of Charles Xavier changes her life forever.
Cyclops and Havok (on Disney+. Miniseries)
Captain Britain and Psylocke (on Disney+. miniseries)
Bishop (on Disney+. miniseries)
War Machine (on Disney+. Ongoing series)
Rescue (on Disney+. miniseries) - breaks up Happy and May Parker so May Parker can begin a relationship with Otto Octavius and pairs Happy and Pepper together. Pepper sells Stark Industries to Kenjiro Fukajawa to set up Tony Stark's return (which should happen in Phase 7).
Jean Grey (on Disney+. Miniseries)
Emma Frost (on Hulu. Miniseries.)
Thunderbird and Warpath (on Disney+. Miniseries)
Archangel (on Disney+. Miniseries)
Beast (on Disney+. Miniseries)
Magneto (on Hulu. Miniseries)
And a number of those series would set up the Uncanny X-Men as the first film of Phase 6 which would feature a roster of Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Psylocke, Jean Grey, Thunderbird, Bishop and Archangel with Xavier and Beast in supporting roles with Magneto as the alleged villain (it's really Fabian Cortez). In phase 6 (possibly also late Phase 5), we'd get a Deadpool reboot and a number of series setting up future X-Men films. Namely
Dazzler and Longshot (Take place in the early 1990s. Actually sets up Shatterstar and Strong guy for the X-Factor film. On Disney+. miniseries.)
Rogue and Nightcrawler (on Disney+. miniseries)
Colossus and Magik (on Disney+. miniseries.)
New Mutants (Really a continuation of Emma Frost's story but without the R-rated content. On Disney+. Ongoing series.)
Rictor (on Disney+. miniseries)
Multiple Man (on Disney+. miniseries)
Shadowcat (on Disney+. miniseries)
Iceman (on Disney+. miniseries)
Karima Shipandar (on Disney+. Ongoing. She'd just be a cop in India in this first season. She wouldn't be transformed into Omega Sentinel until she appears in a movie.)
Cecelia Reyes (on Disney+. miniseries)
And that sets up X-Factor with a roster of Mystique, Val Cooper, Multiple Man, Havok, Polaris, Strong Guy, Shatterstar, Rictor, Forge and Darwin. Forge, Darwin and Mystique don't really need origin stories since they're better off being mysterious. Val Cooper doesn't need an origin story since she lacks any sort of powers and simply leads X-Factor from afar. That and Astonishing X-Men with a roster of Shadowcat, Colossus, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Warpath, Iceman, Cecelia Reyes and Karima Shipandar with Wolverine leaving the Uncanny team to lead the Astonishing team.
Phase 7 has these new debuts on TV
Gambit (on Disney+. Ongoing)
Cable (on Hulu. Ongoing)
Domino (on Hulu. Ongoing)
Siryn (on Hulu. Miniseries)
Fantomex (on Hulu. Miniseries)
Phase 7 would see Rogue and Gambit replace Archangel and Psylocke on the Uncanny team and the introduction of X-Force with Cable, Deadpool, Domino, Fantomex, Psylocke and Archangel as the roster. The New Mutants would be folded into the various X-Men teams every three years. The first team would be Magik, Cannonball, Sunspot, Cypher, Karma, Mirage, Wolfsbane and Meltdown with Magma added in Season 2 and Warlock in Season 3. Cypher and Warlock wouldn't survive the Season 3 finale. The second team would be Jubilee, Chamber, Synch, M, Penance, Hollow, Husk, Skin, Mondo, Gaia and Blink. Blink wouldn't survive the first season. Mondo would die in Season 2. Skin and Synch wouldn't survive the Season 3 finale. The third team would be X-23, Mercury, Prodigy, Surge, Hellion, Ink, Wind Dancer, Gentle, Rockslide, Dust, Anole, Pixie, Tag, Wallflower, Whither and Elixir. Season 3 would see the deaths of Ink, Wind Dancer, Elixir, Whither and Tag.

7 Oct 2022 - Blade - I think they would want it to coincide with the black history month and the halloween season...it just makes sense to me. The same as Shang- chi coming out during the chinese new year
Black history month is in February.
Sorry didn't realise the usa have it in a different month...in the uk it's in october.
