the term “Comic-accurate” can be applied to various things. In this context, I’m presuming you mean comic-accurate in terms of just casting all pasty white people, correct? While I wouldn’t have any problem with Marvel letting them retain the same race as they were in the comics. I also don’t see Marvel casting all-white people to play the FF in this political climate we’re living in. No matter how loudly the fans scream “John Krasinski and Emily Blunt!”

First. I don't care if they don't cast John Krasinski and Blunt. I just want good actors. I want them to be like their comic counterparts. Like I said, they can change some minor and unknown X-Men characters for diversity and that would be amazing, similar to how they changed the Eternals and nobody complained but they can't completely change the whole First Family and don't expect a backlash. I trust Feige.

I don’t expect they’ll change the whole First Family racially but I do expect we might at least see Reed get a race swap. I’m just very skeptical that Marvel will let the Fantastic Four be this 100% white team in the 2020’s.

And whatever backlash there may be to any potential race changes won’t be severe enough to hurt the movie at the box office. I highly doubt Marvel will be intimidated by loud fans screaming on the internet about this. The vast majority of the audience who makes up the box office of these movies are not comic book aficionados with any major attachment to the comic book versions. If anything, they will largely will be ambivalent.

Race has never been a major part of the FF. Reed is not defined as a white man of science. He’s defined as just a man of science with a bottomless curiosity who can be a bit aloof and y’know can stretch. You can cast a non-white actor who embodies those core attributes and achieve a comic-accurate portrayal without them having to be superficially ‘comic-accurate’ by being white.

The F4 won’t be 4 white people - but With Krasinski and Blunt it already will be 3 of 4 (because they won’t go again for Sue and Johnny being two different races).
And they won’t make Ben black, because that would be kind of racist to hide the black member under stones.

So I laugh about every rumor of Marvel bein reportedly in talks with Krasinski and Blunt

idk what’s so funny about it...a movie with 4 white people or at least the villain being of color... not gonna happen in times of BLM. And the MCU/Disney is now very concerned about having a diverse cast.
Also the MCU has lost one of its strongest leaders in BP, the leader of the F4 could be very well be a person of color.
Lakeith Stanfield and John David Washington are heavily rumored

Conclussion: there are just projects with white leads and there are others with POC, the studios dont have to racechange each franchise just for the sake of diversity; there is space and enough projects for everyone.

Maybe we'll get a new series of Luke Cage. But I'd rather not see Mike Colter again. He was bland and boring and never seemed to want to do anything typically associated with Cage (fighting, wearing any kind of costume, be in a comic franchise etc). I want someone with more charisma. But I'd like them to have a proper Heroes for Hire/ Power Man and Iron Fist series because having separate ones for each is not really interesting enough.

They could have a mixture of humans and animals. Maybe Reed is human, Sue is his invisible imaginary friend, Johnny is his cat and Ben is his dog.

I don’t think there is a guarantee in either direction that the FF will be all diverse, all white, mix of both, whatever. I also really don't care either way. The MCU is adding a lot of diversity, so a potential all white FF wouldn't be a step back IMO. But, again, mixing it up is also not some kind of cardinal sin either.

At the end of the day, I just want actors who can play the roles. That is all that matters. Hire talented people to play great characters. The MCU casting is mostly spot on historically. I have little to no reason to doubt Feige will get great actors for this.

In all seriousness (and contrary to my previous post) I don't care particularly who's playing each character as far as race is concerned, however I will draw the line if Reed, Sue or Ben are cast and written to cater to the LGBT community.

Johnny on the other hand, he's a bit of a playboy, so if they've gotta, then they can throw him the bisexual card, but otherwise no deal.

Not use the best casting in mind because they are scared of ****storms is nothing to be proud of. The MCU is more diverse then ever. So there is absolutly no need to transform everything into POC.
By the way had we even one male lead who is real blonde or even a male redhaired actor in the whole MCU? So everyone has to should chill a little bit.

it’s a big difference, if you have two leads like in Hawkeye or WV.
The F4 will be an ensemble movie and will represent a family. I bet, that Disney will present a divers cast for colourful divers idea of families

I think they need to go far more traditional with FF and leave the diversity and mix-and-matching to X-Men, because otherwise the most faithful FF movie will still end up either Tim Story's version or even the Roger Corman version.

The Spider-Man supporting cast issue has nothing to do with diversity though. It has to do with how they have written the characters. They can make the supporting FF cast more diverse and not have the Spider-Man supporting cast issue. It is all about execution

I really think Reed Richards needs to be the MCU’s Neil Degrasse Tyson the same way Tony Stark was more or less the MCU’s Elon Musk. I can see JDW pulling that off.

Oh and can we have Neil Degrasse Tyson cameo in a FF film? I mean we had Musk cameo in Iron Man 2. So why not?
