MCU vs thread....controversy and chaos

Thank you!! Someone gets it!! I don't get how many people can sit here and think that Gamora who is WAY stronger and faster than Clint and Natasha can't take them out. But sadly..........Clint and Natasha win. 3-2. Next up:

Thor with storm breaker

vs Thanos with the infinity sword

Who you got peeps?!

Thanos, 100%

With that Sword Thanos took out Worthy Cap, Fat Thor and Nanotech Iron Man all at once.

To beat Thanos, Infinity War Thor would have to be significant more powerful than all of them put together.

Black Widow and Hawkeye vs Gamora:

Yeah, I agree, Team Ex-SHIELD should probably take it. Gamora is physically much more powerful and has better weaponry, but she's not invincible, both her opponents are extremely skilled, and Hawkeye in particular is a deadshot with extremely powerful long range weapons. There's a non-trivial chance that Natasha gets cut in half, though.

Thor vs Thanos:

Thanos. Once Thor received the Stormbreaker powerup, he was now near enough in power that he could kill Thanos, *but*. . . he basically needed a sucker punch from surprise to do that. Against a Thanos who he is *not* sucker punching? He's going to lose every time. As demonstrated aptly in Endgame, where Thor did better solo against Thanos than anyone other than probably Wanda, but where the inevitably result of that solo fight would have been "Thor killed by Thanos".

Thanos. He beat Ironman, Cap with the hammer and Thor with Stormbreaker.

This. Endgame determined this round for us pretty definitively.

With the Infinity Sword, Thanos made mincemeat out of Mjölnir Cap, Out of shape Thor, and nanotechnology Stark, all at the same time.

Thor would have to go on one helluva protein/vitamin/workout regimen if he wanted to beat Papi singlehandedly.

He didn't take them all at once. Tony was accidentally KO'd by Thor. Cap got taken out quickly (hardly surprising since he's the weakest). Then he took down Thor in a 1v1.

Only when Thor and Tony had been taken out of the fight did Cap finally pick up Mjolnir and fight Thanos.

So in other words Thanos beat each of the Avengers individually. If Cap had been armed with Mjolnir from the start I think the fight would have gone a LOT differently. Also, if Thor had blasted Thanos with lightning to knock him down like he did in IW:

OT: Thor wins if he approaches this like he did at the end of IW (using his ranged lightning attacks to knock Thanos down before landing the fatal blow with SB). If he tries to brawl like in Endgame though he loses.

So Thor (just).

Not to mention that I'm pretty sure Thor is gonna crush Thanos post-Love and Thunder.

Man I can't stand Thor-Fosterson. I do not like what I'm seeing out of Marvel at all right now.

John Walker vs Doc Ock

Hmmm. I'm gonna go with Walker for this one.

Someone in another thread pointed out how unrealistic it was in Spider-Man 2 that a middle-aged man like Octavius could take multiple punches in the face from Spidey, who is capable of stopping a runaway train.

We can only assume that Peter pulled his punches out of sheer decency. Would Walker offer Doc Ock the same courtesy? Unlikely. One decent punch to the face breaks Ock's neck and it's game over. Walker mostly likely has the speed to avoid Ock's arms too at least some of the time...

I'll go Walker 7/10

Ock but only 5.5/10, with Walker winning 4.5/10 fights.

Ock wins by crushing, smashing, impaling or dismembering Walker- all of which he's capable of doing.

If Walker has Cap's shield he should be able to cut through Ock's arms, something Spidey has never tried.
However Walker's best shot is just that, to shoot Ock in the face - there's no plot armour here ( one of my big gripes with Spider Man 2 , Spidey 's first punch should have knocked out Otto).

Ock's arms can block bullets by wrapping around Ock, but I doubt they move fast enough to actually interecept bullets.

Ock has no head armour so a shot to the face is one and done.

You picked the wrong Captain.

Captain Marvel was smiling at Thanos' attacks whilst she literally had him on his knees scrambling for the Power Stone just to beat her.

Did she knock him on his ass ? Didn't think so.

When she's a beloved fan favorite with a solid trilogy of her own films and 4 Avengers movies.....then I might give a **** about Captain Marvel.

To me Captain Marvel is Shazam.

Did Cap A have him on his knees whilst smiling at his attacks and have Thanos needing the power stone just to survive the encounter? Didn’t think so.

And what does the amount of movies she been in have to do with having the better showing against Thanos?

Cap had Thanos flat on his back and of he'd landed Mjolnir on Thanos's chest that would have been the end of the fight - but the script needed the rest of the plot to happen, so there you go.

What does any of Cap's movie appearances have to do with all this...... nothing, and everything, but mostly it's about how much she sucks as a character - which is why when Captain America dropped Thanos with his first hammer blow audiences around the world cheered.....and also why, when Thanos blasts Captain Marvel, and she isnt seen again until the end of the film, plenty of people also cheered.

I get it. You don't like the character. But audience reactions don't change the fact Cap Marvel had a better showing against Thanos than anyone else except Scarlett Witch.

Also Mjolnir landing on Thanos' chest would not have been the end of the fight. Did you see what damage Thanos tanked in IW? And in Endgame for that matter.

I am not a huge CM fan myself. Always been a Hulk guy but CM is simply more powerful in the MCU and would have beat Thanos if it weren't for the power stone.

Mjolnir landing on Thanos' chest would have definitely ended the fight. All Cap has to do is let go and Thanos is trapped by something he's unable to lift, because he's not worthy.

Perfect oportunity for Thor to turn up and deliver the coup de gras , and anyone else around to take a free shot for good measure.
