Yup ! Mordor uses a stick he refers to as " The staff of the Living Tribunal" probably an overstatement as the Living Tribunal could blow up a galaxy by sneezing.

In retrospect, that was kinda dumb. At the time, it was cool hearing it, but, in my defense, I'd slammed a couple with my pizza.

Just noticed that I misspelled Mordo's name by adding an extra "r" . Well, that rules out walking because....

I noticed that, but, being possibly the biggest Tolkien nerd on the planet, I wasn't about to correct you. I never noticed that Mordo's name was one letter away from becoming The Land of Shadow. I wonder if his name was created along those lines intentionally......

Well, I haven't seen Venom and don't plan on seeing Morbius (edited, I blame autocorrect) so it's a no vote from me.

On the other hand, I'd be up for seeing fights with the Maguire/Garfield Spider-Men or Jackman's Wolverine......

JK Simmons plays J Jonah Jameson in the Raimi films and in the MCU. They're still two separate universes.

I'll be surprised if the Morbius film includes/references any characters Marvel own the rights to but keep me posted.

Mordo is decades older than the LotR movies.
Nobody reads the books with their tough vocabulary.

First, IMO the Morbius film looks pretty good - great cast ! Second, do we know for sure that Keaton is reprising his role as Adrian Toomes ?

Sorry, what do you want me to vote for ? Is it whether non MCU film characters who are still based on Marvel comics should be allowed into the vs thread ? If so I'll go " yes" mostly because it gives us more basis for comparison - e.g I am a massive fan of MCU Cap but I doubt he could have easily beaten either Maguire or Garfield Spider Man in a fight, if he could beat then at all.

Or, are you just asking if Morbius and Venom should be included- I suppose I'll still say yes, although I have stayed away from Venom - as Venom without Spider Man doesn't make much sense to me.

All those pre-Disney+ shows consider themselves to be connected to the MCU despite Feige's repeated decline of their connection.

Venom and Morbius deserve to be counted for the same reason.

I don't think it's the same. Venom was made by Sony and doesn't even reference Spider-Man, never mind the MCU. Morbius isn't out yet.

Meanwhile the pre-Disney Plus shows were actually made by Disney/Marvel and were marketed as part of the MCU:

• Agents of SHIELD stars Phil Coulson, has plotlines that tie in to Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron, is full of references to the wider MCU and has had cameos from Nick Fury, Maria Hill etc.
• Agent Carter stars Peggy Carter and Howard Stark, is full of references to Cap:TFA and Edwin Jarvis from the show made a cameo in Endgame.
• Daredevil and the other Netflix shows include references to the Avengers, Battle of New York, the Sokovia Accords and the Raft.

And as far as I know, nobody at Marvel's said they're non canon and all Feige's said is that he'd like to use the Netflix characters again in the future.
