The Eternals costumes look like the final X-Men Apocalypse costumes.
You're not wrong. On the bright side...look, a lot of us had certain expectations for what we wanted to see the X-Men wear in the movies, expectations that largely weren't fulfilled. But the Eternals? They don't have the same level of fame so they don't have the same expectations. As far as I'm concerned, they can wear whatever the hell they want.

the XMA concept art you mean.
the Eternals ones look more styled and elegant than the Apoc ones, at least the actual costumes Singer used

I personally don’t see what’s so bad about The Eternals’ outfits.

Well, I'm sure you're familiar enough with the X-Men franchise to answer that question. But summarizing what I meant -- the X-Men fight for a world that hates and fears them to increasing degrees of escalation in each subsequent film.

Yes, I am well aware of what you mean and why. I also believe it is a fundamentally, at its foundation, mortally flawed creative direction. "Super Hero" is not "Teen Dystopia", it cannot function on a continuing stream of ineffective protagonists who consistently fail at their goals. A narrative structure that requires this must be replaced with a different one that actually works within the genre.

Hah... those plasticky abominations? Yeah, no.
I think the concept art seems a bit plain and they dont really scream "Kirby" to me

but in execution I'm sure they won't look like the dollar store outfits at the end of XM:A

Yeah I don't think theyre so bad
but again, if Feige's gonna say this movie will be "full on Kirby", they didn't go nearly crazy enough with the costumes

My biggest problem with the Eternals' outfits is that they kind of look similar from each other.

And individually they look very different in the comics.

I like that the colors are different, but I think they could be more different from each other. Like the Avengers or Guardians.

I want the X-Men costumes to be colorful too, but I want them to be very different from each other.

Agree. The Eternals look too much like a uniform instead of a mish mash of characters, which is what it should look like. I liked that the Avengers looked so different from one another. With the X-Men, I also think they should look like they came from different backgrounds and films. Maybe the original X-Men can have the same colour black and yellow uniform, but the more recent ones should just look like a rag tag bunch as in the comics.

Yeah, I don't want the X-Men costumes looking like uniforms but with different colors. It'll be disappointing.

That's why the Eternals outfits worry me a little.

A peak at what the X-men could look like with matching uniforms:

It will depend on the direction the MCU takes the X-men in. If we get the early days of the team with teens in some version of an "original five," the characters will likely be in uniforms.

A lot of the adult X-men to join the team brought with them their own sense of style informed by their backgrounds.

Nightcrawler: Circus clothes
Storm: Ceremonial garb
Gambit: Thieves guild style (although the bright pink chest-plate and metal boots don't make sense)
Jubilee: Literally what she would wear to the mall
Bishop: XSE/Future clothing
Dazzler: Performance outfits

Iceman is iced-up. Jean got the Phoenix outfit. Beast became blue and furry. Archangel wears his Death design.

Cyclops, Rogue, and Wolverine's iconic outfits/90s outfits don't exactly have much to do with their backgrounds.

I hope we never see Psylocke's bathing suit.

Having the whole team robs many of the X-men of their iconic costumes. Gambit, Wolverine, Colussus, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Psylocke etc. They should look like their classic versions preferrably.

they look so f******* awesome and iconic man.
change logan with beast, and we'd have a pretty dope roster for MS X1.

Speaking of Beast. I hope if he does appear they manage to find someone who can hit the same tone as Kelsey Grammar did. Though I hope the make-up/cgi is better this time round and captures the look of 90's Beast more accurately. I wouldn't mind seeing him fast tracked onto a new Avengers team too.

Sam Witwer sounds and speaks quite similar to Kelsey Grammar and looks like Hank McCoy too. I think he could suit the part and carry off the intelligence.

I think they should CGI him this time. I applaud the Fox crew for wanting to do as much practical as possible (which is becoming rarer and rarer these days), but Beast's look in the prequels was always really hit or miss. I think you need to go digital to capture those ape-like physical proportions.

Yeah I meant the concept art. You got what I meant at least.

Kelsey was obviously practical make-up.

For the MCU Beast I hope they go the Smart Hulk route from Endgame.

Seeing what they did with the characters in the APES trilogy, I hope that they take some inspiration from that in choosing how to present Beast with Mocap/CGI.

Marvel have been able to accomplish some amazing things with CG. If they can CG whole costumes now then Beast being mocap should be no problem at all. The Singer films relied heavily on practical effects, even to the expense of larger-than-life characters. The MCU doesn't burden itself to that limitation, thankfully.

I wouldn't mind a CG/hybrid Nightcrawler too ala 'Cats'

F*** Beast
He's been in the last number of movies emo-ing it up, plus he's sucked in the comics for the past decade or so

And Nightcrawler, idk, I'm sure they will go CGI, but the makeup on Alan Cumming showed it wasn't necessary to make the character look amazing

I just hope we get the fun, swashbuckling, yet religious German Nightcrawler

For all the talk of Representation, one thing that never gets mentioned is other nationalities... we've had a bunch of Americans, a small amount of Brits (or really just Asgardians with English accents), and a few Wakandans. I'd like to see some heroes from other [real] places

That's why I don't know if I want Wakandan Storm, she should be Kenyan, alongside Russian Colossus, German Kurt, Irish Banshee, and Japanese Sunfire

lol ya gotta go back to the 90's to find that

yeah. As simple as that.

and we need a criature x-man on the first movie, a classic one: so its either Beast or Kurt. leaving both out of the first movie wouldnt make the roster feel "completed", imo

I hope the first film has the classic original line up, which would include human Beast.

Hank can turn into beast form towards the end of the film. Nightcrawler can be teased by an easter egg or reference then Wolverine teased in the end credits

I wouldn't mind the animated series roster either though but still think Logan/Wolverine should be the end credits scene
