If MCU does their own DOFP they will have to use a different means of time travel than what we got in Endgame.
You can see Storm in action in new Marvel Ultimate Alliance game at 3:12
I wonder if this is the costume Marvel would give her.
The game doesn't look too good, I feel the previous Ultimate Alliance and the X-Men Legends games had better level design, the locations and the goons look very generic in this one. It overall looks too busy too.
That's easy: explain it away by mutant powers. Just don't pull a Fox and make up secondary powers for a mutant like they did with Kitty Pryde. If MCU does their own DOFP they will have to use a different means of time travel than what we got in Endgame.
I agree, if you look at the new Mortal Kombat game and the detail their characters have this really pales in comparison. The new Ultimate Alliance looks like a mobile game and too dated compare to the bigger console games these days.
imho, mutants = refugees.
the more i think about it - the more the multi-verse is mentioned, the more i think it's all about introducing mutants. their earth in their universe is under attack and got destroyed by galactus (who wont be mentioned, they'll just say it's a world eater) and they somehow found a way to escape and land on our planet in this universe.
then the handful of evil mutants will bring a bad name to all mutants and you'll have governments of the world trying to eliminate them or have them leave this earth. it brings the refugee issue from today's political climate into the MCU and makes things up to date.
Through stories of characters who were demonized by the public as the terrifying Other, Lee drove home messages of tolerance and acceptance while rejecting demonization and bullying. “Those stories have room for everyone, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or color of their skin,” Lee said 2017 video published by Marvel. “The only things we don't have room for are hatred, intolerance, and bigotry.”
The greatest manifestation of that idea was the X-Men. Introduced in September 1963, the X-Men were a team of teenage mutants, led by their teacher and mentor Professor Charles Xavier, who fought super-criminals and other mutants, led by Magneto, bent on the destruction of humanity. But rather than be a black-and-white battle between good and evil, the X-Men had a wrinkle: mutants were hated by the “normal” humans they defended.
“I loved that idea,” Lee told the Guardian in 2000, as the first X-Men movie hit theaters. ”It not only made them different, but it was a good metaphor for what was happening with the Civil Rights Movement in the country at that time.”
That metaphor extended to the characters themselves, with Professor X and his vision of harmonious human-mutant coexistence standing in for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while Magneto’s rigid attitude toward the defense of mutantkind reflected the philosophy of Malcolm X. The Sentinels, a brand of massive mutant-hunting robot, were introduced two years later as readers watched on TV as black Americans were beaten and abused by white police officers.
“There's kind of an undeniable set of allegories that are going on there,” says Sean Howe, author of Marvel Comics: The Untold Story. “The X-Men was probably the most explicitly political of the 1960s Marvel comics.”
I would find both welcome developments. I thought killing off Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron was a silly thing to do. That was a nice take on the character. And being able to refer to the two characters as mutants in the MCU would only add to story-telling possibilities (much as it does in the comics.) Shoot, I long for a return to the time when Magneto was their father. Can the refer to them as mutants now or they will introduce another Quicksilver ?
They aren't going to retcon Wanda and Pietro's origins, much less introduce another Pietro. There will inevitably be enough exposition required to introduce them without changing the established canon. How abou Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch ? Can the refer to them as mutants now or they will introduce another Quicksilver ?
This is really well done.I personally think they should take the X-Men evolution approach. Mutants have been around just few in numbers and they are not “mutant and proud” yet (sorry for that LOL). So what I would like to see instead of getting another Xavier & Eric back story; is that him and Charles met in their early 30s, working at a hospital Xavier secretly using his telepathy to help ppl during one of the wars (idk pick one). Magneto is happily married to Magda and they have Lorna. The attacking country does a bomb attack on the village Eric and his wife live and he rushes home fearing for his family sadly Magda is killed and we do not know what became of Lorna. Eric in a fit of rage attack’s and kills the soldiers. Charles tries to reason with Eric but Eric tells Charles that this is the humanity he wants to protect (since they have had countless talks about evolution theory)? Eric tries to kill a young soldier with a metal rod and Charles jumps in to save his life but Eric pierces his spinal cord. Charles with no choice telepathically shuts down Eric’s mind and minds wipes everyone who saw Eric uses his powers.
From there Charles looses his ability to walk, and fearing that Magneto will one day regain his memories leaves to start the school.
This hospital scene would include cameos from Moira and Nathaniel Essex (who’s very Suspicious about Xavier & Eric and he sees them both uses their powers but before Charles can wipe his mind he feels a powerful force blocking him (which in a later movie it’s revealed it was Apocalypse) and he passes out in psychic coma. Also Moira would leave with Charles to help him with the school.
In a post credit scene after the events of the MCU X-Men Eric is at home alone eating dinner watching the news about a group of mutants saving the day and a clip of Xavier is shown which trigger his memory he makes a fist his spoon and fork begin to shake aggressively. Fade to black
Would changing Magneto’s Jewish heritage to something else be a bad thing or would that go over well with comic book fans?
I do not know about that. In today's environment, it might be accepted.Very badly, I predict. He's basically the most visible Jewish character in the realm of superheroes. They tried to retcon his Jewish heritage before by making him Romani, and it ended up being retconned and overturned.
I'm fine with it and I can see value of updating Magneto. I'm all about having a contemporary version of the X-Men in the MCUWould changing Magneto’s Jewish heritage to something else be a bad thing or would that go over well with comic book fans?

I don't think anything happening now is anymore uncomfortable than what happened then.I'm not only fine with it, but excited to see a modern take on the X-Men. And updating Eric to make people more unconfortable now it's number one thing for me.
I did find this compelling to read in spite of me not being that into the family death after the other origin.I would like to see instead of getting another Xavier & Eric back story; is that him and Charles met in their early 30s, working at a hospital Xavier secretly using his telepathy to help ppl during one of the wars (idk pick one). I wouldn't prefer it.Would changing Magneto’s Jewish heritage to something else be a bad thing or would that go over well with comic book fans?
