MCU: Your Thoughts About The Infinity Stones (SPOILERS INSIDE)

How come one of the gems is so huge compared to the other gems? Is there a specific reason for this?

They're obviously not going to have two blue stones. Until someone cracks open the Tesseract and the inside is revealed to have a delicious green, yellow or orange filling I will continue to remain unconvinced.

That's been my main line of thinking for a while. Even then, it'll still be a little odd for the Tessarect to be blue, but have a different colored gem inside. I'd also find it weird for Thanos to hand over a gem to Loki and have it fall into other people's hands.

I think if the Scepter is confirmed as the Mind Stone, it should be the one to change to Green. The Tesseract/Cube is too closely associated with blue at this point; Hydra weapons, blue space portal, blue glow when first introduced in CA:FA,etc. Have the blue appearance of the Scepter be explained as a protective shield from the Tesseract that Loki added and the Mind Stone is actually green when seen by itself. Or even yellow, it doesn't matter. Besides, Loki's color palette is green and yellow anyway, it just fits.

I also hope Infinity War includes the Celestials, Elders of the Universe, the Beyonder, Eternity and the Living Tribunal in small cameos either meeting in one scene to discuss the destruction by Thanos or falling victim to his wrath. That would be a nerdgasm. We can assume we will see Death at some point, maybe even as soon as Dr.Strange.

Honestly, when I first saw that teaser, I thought the staff had looked greener than normal. Looking at it again, I don't think it was green, but I think it's more likely.

In the scene where they showed the scepter in The Winter Soldier it looked like there was a computer read-out showing the gem removed from the actual staff. So I think the glowing blue bit is the actual gem while the stick is well....a stick.

So I'm thinking that the Tesseract is not the gem's true/final form. Wouldn't it have to change shape anyway to fit Thanos' gauntlet?

How are they going to get a Stone out of the Aether, because wasn't the Aether a liquid?

I don't think that was ever in question.

Yes, but when Thor struck it with lightning and the Aether exploded, it did crystallize into a bunch of tiny shards before Malekith brought it back together.

It appeared solid at the end of the movie. Plus, it's clearly gotta get into a glove in sphere form, so they all must have the ability to change in order to fit.

Re: The Aether in stone form... I believe when Odin is reading out of the magical book of exposition he mentions that the Aether was unique in its ability to change its physical state.

Well, if we are being realistic, The Aether would be an easy one to mold into a stone it just needs to condense into a solid state and Boom red stone. Shown in the picture below.

We've already seen the purple one as it will appear in the gauntlet. Boom purple stone.

I'd even go so far as to say the stone in loki's scepter would fit as it was seen in avengers. Boom blue stone.

Problem still lies in the tesseract. But it was often shown with an off-white core in all of its appearances. it may even be the piece that Thanos cares most about being that once he has it he can teleport to all of the others in turn. My thoughts? He shatters it in his bare fist revealing a BOOM, slightly larger yellowish white stone that fits in the back of the gauntlet)

Leaving green and (presumably?) orange. Time and soul.

I think from that picture it's pretty obvious what's going to happen with the Tesseract. The cube is clearly a casing and the huge glowing white centre will be the glowing white centrepiece on the Gauntlet.

Besides switching the colours with the correct abilities that they had in the comics, Marvel is replacing the orange colour with white for the Tesseract's core (although it does have a ting of orange in the picture above). So all we have left is yellow (time), and green (soul), pending we're sticking to the colour pallet of those.

So we are most probably gonna see the Soul gem in the Doctor Strange movie. But does anyone have any theories as to where the Time gem will come from??

I have a feeling the Time Stone will play nicely into Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It makes the most sense, as that group has very solid connections to Thanos with Gamora and Drax. And Quill could use the Time Stone not necessarily to alter the past, but maybe to reconnect with his mother for a moment, or reveal the identity of his father. That'd be some interesting and compelling material.

If Cap dies in Civil War I'd expect the Time Stone to fall in Tony's hands. Tony, like his father before him, would figure out how to manipulate the powers of the Infinity Stone and use that to save Cap from death.

I wouldn't think Soul gem for Strange.

it should be something with Adam Warlock, maybe GOTG 2 or Infinity 1

I don't think the time gem will come in Dr. Strange, or if it does it will likely be tied to Adam Warlock, who will make a cameo, before becoming Magus in Guardians 2 (Along with The Universal Church of Truth). If Strange has any gem, it will be the time gem!

The latter part I could see happening but I'm not 100% sure we'll see the Time Gem tied to a main storyline yet, I think they could easily show Thanos in GOTG2, or even in Infinity Gems 1, take it from the Gardener Elder, while appreciating his beutiful garden (the visual would be great) only to kill the Gardener and watch his garden die in the process. The visual and symbolism of that would be perfect for Thanos!

Spot on, the Soul Gem is what originally turned Warlock into Magus so why not introduce him the very same way in GOTG2, before the Guardians take him down and Thanos swoops in and grabs the gem.

I think we're more likely to see the Time Stone in Doctor Strange or GOTG 2. I know these are superhero movies and there's suspension of disbelief required anyway, but isn't it a little convenient that three of the Six Stones (Tesseract, Scepter, and Time Stone), with all of the vast universe to be hidden in, conveniently end up on Earth and in the hands of the same general group of 6-7 people?

James Gunn posted this pic from the Temple of Morag in GOTG. Infinity Stone content.

I'm hoping we will see Eternity, Infinity, Entropy, and Death in an upcoming movie since they were the creators. A bit of background would do nicely.

While personally I disagree, there are people who believe Vision's stone will be the Soul Gem. I thought I ad this line of thought here
