^ Yes, refreshing that it wasn't a [blackout]"QUIIIIILL!" moment[/blackout] and actually real sweet.
Rooker stole every scene!
I think he is... There are serious hints:
Quills mom telling young peter that his dad looks like an angel
Yondu telling peter at the end that he may look like a blue angel- but he's not not one.
Yondu also calls peter "son" at the end.
And finally - when yondu's troop asks him why they aren't delivering peter to his dad, yondu's reply is something like- not yet, besides his dad is a jackass. I could see yondu referring to himself as a jackass.
I know the comics have peter's dad as Someone else- but I'm wondering for the cinematic universe if yondu is really peters dad.
All I could see in his scenes was "Space Merle"I was looking for something different, something more
Nope I believe Yondu and the Ravagers were supposed totake Quill to his dad. Close to the end Yondu mentioned it was a good idea that they didnt take him to a client.
it would have been better imo if he was running around being shot at while the arrow was doing its thing but Gunn went for PIS insteadCan't believe none of those soldiers shot at him while that arrow was zipping around. lol. they all just stood there.
No it's probably the King of Spartax, like the comics.
I could see them sticking with it, but I just have this feeling they're going to do a little retcon and make it someone more important to the story and MCU as a whole.

Same. And if he is the son of Spartax it'll be heavily changed, considering that they pretty much stated his father is something even more ancient than the Nova Corps know about.
I loved Yondu and the Ravagers so much. Just how Gunn portrayed them as pure bad guys throughout most of the movie, just to end up having them show a tad bit of nobility there at the end.
The chest-thumping about how much they hate Quill and want to kill him, when in reality they seem to care for him in this sort of sick, dysfunctional family-type way. In fact, Yondu was sort of this abusive father figure. Tortures him for years about how the rest of the guys wanted to eat him, when in fact he kept him in what seems to have been an act of protection (depending on how big of an a**hole his father is). That weird affection, and how the Ravagers were willing to put their lives on the line for what was essentially a Hail Mary play. Quill obviously believed they were in it for the money, but it certainly didn't come across that way.
God, and that last scene. In a movie that had me smiling throughout, I think that made me smile the most. That reaction to being duped was priceless. I just love that it all left you wondering as to where Yondu and the Ravagers stood. It was so wonderfully layered, and it made me fall in love with characters that should be despicable.
I have to say, I loved Yondu's reaction to [blackout]Peter "trolling" him at the end[/blackout]. That grin simultaneously said, "I'm gonna kill that boy," and "I taught him well."
I think Quill's father is probably still J'Son, since they made a point of telling you that his middle name is Jason.
I just loved everything about Rooker's Yondu. I know he's so different from the comics, but the MCU now has Rooker in their stable and I need him in every Marvel movie from here on out.
He was definitely one of my favorites. The screen lit up every time he was on!
