Question: will you be posting in regular intervals until the incident, Andy? If so, I'll stay in pace with IC time. If not, I'll do my own thing.
not so much that as it is the training it brings. I mean, that gun makes a STATEMENT!I'm just wondering what everyone thinks they're going to do with pistols against a big ol' monster.
let's keep it that wayI actually would have felt it weird if your character DIDN'T have a gun. But the whole "oh and he has a gun" thing...
You know what? I'll shut up now.

I agree. My character doesn't carry a gun, but the pen is mightier than the sword.
I'm not sure why everyone feels like a gun will come in handy. You're not going to be able to shoot and kill the monster with a pistol.![]()
I suppose so, but it almost seems cliché to create a character with a gun. In your case, I like it because he represents the military. And in Sensei's case, I like it because who would think to play a hitman in an RPG like this? (Apparently a few people. It helps when looting.

keep your shorts onCounter-*******, with a dash of prick. Well played.
And making a character with a gun was never about fighting the monster. It was about presenting interesting story opportunities. There's a group of survivors in this particular setting. None of them know each other, and someone has a gun. To make matters worse, that someone is a professional hitman for the mob. So yeah, my thinking was doing something new and bringing an exciting twist to the story. The second hitman application was, I'm sorry, a poorly written "1 am t3h l337 h4xx0rz hitman." for no reason other than to be badass. And now, when 4 characters have guns, that pretty much nullifies what I was trying to bring to the game. I mean, anyone want to take bets as to when we hit the obligatory "Everyone points their guns at each other and shouts" scene?
I mean, that's my reasoning at least. Wiegs character, as well, has an actual REASON for having a firearm. The fourth character to be carrying a gun is simply carrying one because.
keep your shorts on
I just think it's rediculous how you think your character should be the only one with a gun. relax, maybe if there's actually a monster attack, you can hold a gun in your jonny pencil pusher arms and look cool. until that time comes, just chill and have fun rpg'ingOh, by no means offer any sort of thought-based reasoning or actual argument to my statement. You've certainly shown me with your laid back attitude, I take back everything I've said and suggest we all go the movies together.
well, we are supposed to make our guys extended versions of ourselves. I think the problem with you is, you're just insecure. I understand you want this whole "internet tough guy" image, and I'm not trying to ruin it, but you need to relax. You just like being the big fish in the small pond. whenever someone else brings up having a gun, or having the same job as you, or having their character be cooler than yours, you flip. just chill out, when things don't go you way just live with the comfort of knowing that this is only an rpg.Wow, you don't really pay attention to the things other people say? Just kind of skim the words and form a half-assed thought?
Not that I should even go so low as to repeat something I just said earlier, my exact reasoning was that it wasn't to 'just look cool', it was to open up story possibilities. Your extremely well thought-out "Oh, and he's an expert marksman with his desert eagle, by the ****ing way", is the perfect example of 'just to look cool'. Hell, the only way he'd be any cooler is if he knew jud...oh ****. Man, us other players don't even stand a chance.
