No, I'm assuming that JJJ, being the tight-wad-busy-body that he is, would want to know what happened that broke his son's heart and cost him a ton of money. Not to mention the fact that this was a MAJOR society wedding, the word would get out.

Has nothing to do with MJ telling John, it has to do with John's father being the editor of the sleazoid tell-all paper. It has to do with the fact that MJ didn't exactly slink off quietly when she stood John up... she frickin ran through a crowded park in her wedding dress straight to Pete's place.
