Mortal Kombat 11

Shang Tsung's character actually guides you through The Krypt.

I wonder who that younger character in the Krypt teaser is? Taven, a young Shujinko or a Kreate a Kharacter?

Pumped to see both Noob and Shang back. A much better reveal than Jacquie and Kotal imo. I'm wondering if Noob's shadow clone is Smoke/Enenra this time round.

It will be interesting to see how Shang plays. I hope his morph is more extensive than his MK9 limitations.

I did see someone on twitter post a manip of the young Shang Tsung from the movie as though that skin was in the game. I remember thinking that coat was so cool as a kid. What I wouldn't mind seeing though is a skin where he's the older Shang Tsung with the Fu Manchu beard he has in the trailer, but with a blue version of the coat as a mish-mash of both the movie and original game's looks.

Tekunin or still cyber Lin Kuei? Hard to tell with multiple timelines. The cyborgs redesign seem nice enough, but I would have liked a bit more style and maybe something that incorporates elements of their Armageddon era look.

I was coming to add this but let this be known Rashad put it up and we need to take more notice of him .

Noob Saibot, who first appeared in Mortal Kombat II, will return as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios announced.

Additionally, the companies announced that Shang Tsung will be released as the game’s first downloadable content character. He is one of six additional fighters included in the “Kombat Pack” add-on, which is part of the Mortal Kombat 11Premium and Kollector’s Editions.

Here is an overview of each character, via Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment:

Noob Saibot

Once known by the name Bi-Han, and the original Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot was a cold-blooded assassin, corrupt from years of violence and evil. Murdered by his clan’s enemy, Scorpion, Bi-Han was resurrected as the black-clad wraith, Noob Saibot. Both shadowy and mysterious, his soul was stripped of compassion and remorse, and now he considers himself the perfect warrior using his ninja-like and phantom abilities to carry out his darkest impulses.

Shang Tsung

The host of the first Mortal Kombat tournament and faithful servant to Shao Khan. A powerful, shapeshifting sorcerer, he absorbs living souls to maintain his youthful appearance and command, while morphing into other characters to use his adversaries’ own moves against them in battle. Shang Tsung is one of six playable DLC fighters included in the Kombat Pack, which is part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Premium and Kollector’s Editions.

Mortal Kombat 11 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on April 23.

Noob Saibot is awesome as always but the voice reminds me of Claw from Inspector Gadget. Cool intimidating voice but just unexpected!

I expected Shang Tsung on the main roster instead of dlc but its cool and especially him being your krypt guide. Cary Tagawa's likeness and voice is awesome. I hope we can make MK movie Shang Tsung with the gear system!

Yeah. I saw Maximillion Dood making the same Claw comparison on his live stream. May take some getting used too, but I still find Steve Blum as Sub-zero a weird choice.

Agreed about Tsung. It's odd to see them announce dlc before the game is finished, but I think people at least expected the dlc to be a guest character since they were announcing it this way. Some people were hoping for Spawn. I still think it's cool though.

He has one of or maybe even the best fatality so far too

Has the gear sets and skins from the premium edition been revealed yet? Will they be day 1 or released over time like the dlc characters?

Noob Saibot fighting style ( portals, "soul self" attacks, etc. ) makes me hopeful of what Raven could play like if she returns in Injustice 3.

I can't find anything, but I imagine that much of that info are still spoilers at this stage given they still haven't revealed most characters. However, I think it's a fair bet the fear and skins are available day one for the characters already in game.

Were there any "exclusives" for MK X that got added to XL? I always pre-order and get the special editions but don't know about spending $100 next month for it and so I'm considering getting the standard edition then wait a couple of months for the game of the year pack

it usually takes longer than a couple of months for a "game of year" or "c(k)omplete" version to get released. if you are waiting for that, you may end up waiting close to a full year later. They usually wait until they release all DLC characters and content before releasing a complete/goty edition.

looking at the premium edition, it looks like it comes with the base game, the Kombat Pack (Season Pass), and steelbook case.

The Kombat Pack will most likely be sold separately, probably for $30-$40. so technically, you could just buy the base game, then buy the Kombat Pack once you have an idea of what gear, skins, characters will be part of the Pack. you'd just be missing out on the steelbook case going that route.

and there always the chance the Kombat Pack will go on sale, so you could get it cheaper if you wait.

I get games digitally. Steelbook cases means nothing to me any more

in that case, unless there are any additional extras/bonuses for buying the Premium edition digitally, then if you don't want to pay $100 up front, you could just buy the base game first and then buy the Kombat Pack down the road once you know you want the content in the Pack or once it comes down in price ( if it does ).

I do know that the digital stores often offer digital preorder bonuses, and those sometimes are not available elsewhere.

for example, on the Playstation store, you often get exclusive themes or avatars or soundtracks when preordering a digital game, and those are often not available by themselves later on.

I am not crazy about Noob's voice. It sounds...too generic.

ah.

I'm getting this on PS4.

but I just checked the Windows store, and it doesn't look like there are any other preorder bonuses for the Premium Edition other than Shao Kahn and Beta access, which is the same everywhere.

It may be for the Kombat Pack then. I read that there will be exclusive gear sets and skins, I assumed exclusive to the premium edition

yeah, I took it to mean the gear sets and skins are exclusive to the Kombat Pack, since they are listed under the Kombat Pack.

oh, and I just saw that the Kombat Pack will be available by itself for $40, at least on Gamestop's site. but, it didn't list what's in the Kombat Pack.

It includes 6 dlc characters. Probably including the gear and skins to make it more worthwhile.

Maybe I'll wait to get the Kombat Pack a few months after release when there's at least 3 new characters.

I'm still pro-ordering for Shao Khan but I always pre-order just days or a week before release
