Spawn doesn't have the best history in terms of gaming. I remember being so excited about the first game on the PlayStation. Todd McFarlane made a ton of promises with that game that just didn't deliver.

If you think what happened with Anthem was bad, as a huge Spawn fan in the 1990s, I was super angry.

I think Spawn: Armageddon on PS2 was at least a little more competent.

Like is the material good material to translate into a game? Yes, I think it is. It's just can they actually nail it and execute it right?

At least it will have been a long time and at least 3 generations since the PS2 game by the time any new game comes out. Hopefully they have the tools and the will to get it right this time.

I don't remember the first Spawn game much but have fond memories of Spawn Armageddon on my original xbox!

Spawn in Soul Calibur II wasn't that great. It was like a generic new SC fighter with a Spawn skin

I also notice there's no word on a Krypt update either, which is a shame, because early on there were murmurs of them adding to it. I don't think anything significant is happening with the Krypt at this stage past timed events.

That is a nice touch. Same with Keith David voicing Spawn. Shame about no Arnold but his sound alike wasn't so bad
