But still, it was silly that as humans, they had no trouble whatsoever against the first 2 Cyborgs. They should have broken their hands and feet.
Yeah, the Grand Master should have said: "They are this strong without being cybernated, they don't need it

Only for blu-ray?,I liked it But I would only be willing to buy it IF I saw it in a $5 bin!

I love Blu-ray But I hope they are not starting to officially phase out DVDs,Their already releasing some special edition/extended/director's cut and general special features exclusive for blu-ray and that's BS!!

That site only posts specs for Blu-ray releases. Doesn't mean it's not going to be on DVD.

I'm getting the feeling if we see sequels it could depend on the DVD sales.

However, why would I pay 20$ to see something on youtube...

The price is a bit much for me. It is free on youtube afterall

yeah I'm not buying that until it's really cheap.

The cover looks nice though (if that is the official cover).

That cover is cool, but I won't spend more than like $7.00 on this

hopefully there are loads of special features on there as well as extended cuts of the episodes

New Line to reboot 'Mortal Kombat'

New Line is rebooting "Mortal Kombat," based on Kevin Tancharoen's short film and web series "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth."

New Line said Thursday that Tancharoen's been attached to direct from a script that he'll write with Oren Uziel. The duo collaborated on the film and 10-episode series, which debuted this spring through Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment as a promotion for a new version of the "Mortal Kombat" vidgame. No producers or actors have been attached to the new feature version of "Mortal Kombat."

Rights to the property were part of the Midway Games assets that New Line parent Warner Bros. picked up in bankruptcy court in 2009 for the fire-sale price of $33 million along with "Spy Hunter," "Joust" and several other game franchises.

Midway debuted the video game in 1992 with a story focusing on the monk Liu Kang to save Earth from an evil sorcerer. New Line's "Mortal Kombat" movie grossed over $120 million worldwide in 1995 and its sequel "Mortal Kombat: Annihiilation" cumed $50 million two years later.

Warner Bros. was sued last year by Threshold Entertainment for alleged breach of contract over development of a third "Mortal Kombat" movie.

Tancharoen directed MGM's reboot of "Fame" in 2009 and the "Glee" concert movie. Uziel's penned "Kitchen Sink" and "Shimmer Lake."

Dave Neustadter and Walter Hamada are overseeing for New Line.

Tancharoen is repped by ICM, Anonymous Content and attorney David Fox. Uziel is repped by ICM, Circle of Confusion and David Fox.

They're charging money for something they released online?
trying to get the best of both worlds I see.

I pray that the Movie will be good. The online episodes have been hit or miss.

im excited.....ive been waiting for so long for this day when they announced the reboot!

i just noticed that the dvd/blu ray for the web series comes out next month. pretty cool! have there been any announcement in regards to special features?

I hope it doesn't have much to do with the web series.

CS: Is this something that's going to continue elements of the web series?
Tancharoen: No, this is a new take and it's not going to continue directly off of the web series. There will be elements that are familiar to the people that have watched it, but it is its own movie. I wanted to make sure that, regardless of anything else, that it's a good movie. It doesn't have to be something that you will have had to have seen all ten episodes previously to understand or have played the videogame to understand. It'll live on its own and be its own film and will hopefully be something that can continue on. It's such a big story that you could have two or three movies, but I want to make sure that the first one is good on its own.

I'm glad that it won't have anything to do with the web series. Scorpion and Sub-Zero need to be modern day Ninjas.

Announcement like a when they are filming, which actors got cast, a release date, etc. I know the Movie is coming, but we know nothing more beyond that.

My theory is season 2 will probably establish any of the fighters not yet introduced and then the movie will be the actual tournament
