I hated the organic webbing at first but it can be easily ignored. I really hate the stingers, night vision, etc that The Other gave him. New powers=
.

Interesting reference; Dick Grayson started out as a lame, knucklehead teen sidekick & they turned him into a cool, badass, adult solo hero.HoratioRome said:I have to agree. And the behavior isn't only that he's Stark's lap dog, but also the Avenger's weak link, puppy who needs to be rescued. An amateur who gets beat by Wolverine and Cap.
I was thinking about this, Dick Grayson, robin /knightwing gets more respect in the DC universe than SPider-man does in the marvel U.
that is just ridiculous.
besides ALL the other changes suck too.
You got to remember who was in charge when you say the DC of old Mr. Q himself and now he is Marvels problem and we dont have to worry about him anymoreHoratioRome said:thanks Chris. It's funny but nowadays, Marvel sound more and more like the DC of old and DC is sounding more like Marvel. where you had a million different versions of the same character. You would have thought they would have learned from DC since that whole thing was a disaster that needed a "crisis" to pull it together
What atrocities did he commit over there?All-Star Superman said:You got to remember who was in charge when you say the DC of old Mr. Q himself and now he is Marvels problem and we dont have to worry about him anymore![]()

Look at DC comics in the early to mid 90's and you'll find him. AzBat, Power Gaint beast looking Superman, all the bad stories coming out of DC that nearly killed us and you'll find him.Chris Wallace said:What atrocities did he commit over there?
I only knew about Azrael, & only to the extent that he co-created him. I don't know if he had anything to do w/Knightfall. I know for a fact that Dan Jurgens killed Supes & JQ had nothing to do with it. As far as I know, JQ was an artist at DC & nothing more.All-Star Superman said:Look at DC comics in the early to mid 90's and you'll find him. Goes back to what I said in another thread. With Spider-Man being Marvel's flagship character & having the universal appeal that he has, why do they feel the need to keep changing him? Let's say his parents were spies. Let's give him a costume from outer space*. Let's give him cosmic powers. Let's say he's a clone. Let's say the spider that bit him was magic. Let's move him into a luxury apartment & cut him off from everyone except MJ, Aunt May & other heroes. Let's make him Iron Man's sidekick & give him a high-tech suit w/a bunch of functions that don't make sense. Let's reveal his identity to the world. It's like they forgot the thing that drew fans to him in the first place; his relatability. I feel lik eevery time somebody at Marvel gets a crazy idea they decide to test it on Spidey. If it doesn't work out, they can spend months & months repairing the damage.OtepApe said:I will say 'Other'.
Obviously all of the above pissed me off to no end, but it's the simple fact that the people writing him have no idea who Peter Parker/Spider-man is anymore. To tell their own stories, they have twisted and shaped the character into something that he was never meant to be or any of the fans wanted him to be. The stories that they have put him in are stories that don't need telling. They feel they should push the boundaries. tp shock us into reading Spidey. Truth is, I would read Spidey for some good simple stories. The reason I am not readin Spidey is because of the situations they have put him in, and the way he has handled them.
Most things have pissed me off. I said a lot fo the time that 'Spidey would never do that', or 'They are ruingin his character'. The thing that really hit it home was during Civil War #3 I believe. The ProReg crowd had all the AntiReg crowd surrounded. The shooters were waiting for the command from Spidey to shoot. Now it might just be me, but Spidey would never agree to that. This is the guy who is friends with most of these heroes, he's certainly not going to agree to shoot them.
That is what's wrong with Spider-man, the writers have no idea who he is.

*Before you Venom fanatics start flaming me, I'm simply saying that this is an example of a radical change which they later undid. Nothing more.
