Maul should've been in all of the prequels. Have him kill Qui Gon in the first one, have an epic fight with Obi Wan, and then escape. Make him a dark cloud hanging over Obi Wan and later Anakin.

Exactly.

It would have been more satisfying to see Anakin kill him rather than old man Dooku.

Yeah. There was so much more they could have done with him instead of making him a one-off baddie who essentially says and does nothing significant.

Instead, they brought in Christopher Lee as Count Dookie. And don't get me wrong, I love Lee... but when you somehow manage to make HIM suck in a central villain role, I think you've managed to shatter the fabric of reality.

Man of steel was the most disappointing movie I have ever seen. Normally I have an inkling when a movie is going to be horse **** but that one really surprised me because I expected it to be good.

I actually agree with the Dooku hate. And his Sith name-Darth Tyranus-was better than his actual name. Why did Lucas think the name, Dooku was a good idea?

There was potencial for a character called Count Dooku.

Oh lawd! you should watch more films. But if you want to go the cbm route. IM3 and Thor2 for me.

I second this. Man of Steel was one of those films I thought was going to be critically (and word-of-mouthly) unstoppable.

Turns out, it was incredibly disappointing.

I think 'Count' was an homage to Lee's Dracula days.

I have no idea about the name 'Dooku' though.

I'd say Wolverine Origins actually lol. It had the chance to be phenomenal, but just completely and totally sucked ass. Now, if you mean by the ones on this list, well- Spidey 3 didn't disappoint (I knew everything that would happen going in), X3 I didn't see until DVD thanks to the meh reception, TPM I saw when I was young and still quite enjoy the film TLW:JP would take it, as I love the novel, but am meh on the final film. Don't care enough about IJ to hate KOTCS, Godzilla I haven't seen since 98', Never seen any of the Godfather films, and don't care for Tron.

Hahaha I forgot about Prometheus. What a pretentious pile of crap. Talk about a film that thought it was brilliant but ended up basically just being "Hostel in Space."

That's about the most succinct description of Prometheus I've ever come across. Well said.

The Phantom Menace takes the cake for broken dreams.

Spider-Man 3 while disappointing wasn't the worst for me, because at that point I wasn't much of a fan of Raimi's films.

X-Men 3 just **** all over a number of things. Cyclops, Phoenix, Professor X, Juggernaut, Rogue etc.

Matrix Revolutions was battle porn and exhausting.

Lost World is just meh, but I enjoyed it well enough when I was a kid.

I enjoy Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls other than the monkeys. **** those things.

Never seen Godfather 3.

I enjoy Tron Legacy a lot.

Godzilla 98 is an awful guilty pleasure on occasion.

FWIW, I watched the Phantom Menace as a 15 year-old and I remember enjoying it and I think most of my friends enjoyed it. I didn't know that it was considered awful until several years later when I looked it up online.

I like this idea! Someone remake the prequels and implement this RIGHT F'N NOW!

You probably weren't as big of a fan of the OT as the rest of us, since RotJ came out before you were born. For those of us who were privileged enough to see them in their original theatrical run (before the re-release of the special editions in the mid 1990's) the prequels, and in particular The Franchise Menace, we're a total slap in the face.

I was a huge fan of the OT and I had read several expanded universe books, between 10 and 20 at the time.

The difference is merely that adults are in general more mature and have different tastes than kids, and sometimes teenagers. I think a lot of fans were expecting to enjoy the prequels as 25 year-olds as much as they enjoyed the original trilogy as 5 year-olds, and that was never going to happen.

No. The original trilogy, for all its' goofiness, is clearly more mature than the prequels. I understand your point, but it's overlooking the fact that Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were just bad movies, plain and simple.

Plus, Empire Strikes Back has been added to many Top Film lists, including the LOC's Film Registry.

Hobbit trilogy, Spider-Man 3, and this

As much as I love Nolan, I'd have to put Interstellar up there as one of those movies that really disappointed me. It wasn't "bad" per se, but I feel like it tried to do way too much. It tried to show its audience how smart it was but at the same time, it totally missed other things that showed it wasn't as smart as it was trying to be. I really, REALLY wanted to love Interstellar and the trailers had me convinced that I would... but it fell flat for me, ultimately.

I didn't get to vote on this but I have to go with spider man 3. Star wars 1 is second. I don't hate spider man 3 like a lot of people do I like it but the thing is if it was as good has I thought it would be it would be my favorite movie of all time and my favorite CBM off all time. Instead it is like around my 12-15 favorite CBM ever. That is quit a big difference.

It's a shame because Spider-Man 1 and 2 are classics as far as I'm concerned and are still among the best CBMs ever made. I've heard that Sam Raimi had a "F*** it" attitude about making Spider-Man 3 simply because he didn't want to use Venom and the studios forced him. Maybe that's true, I don't know. Regardless, it was a trainwreck of a film.

I just finished Interstellar a few minutes ago and I'd have to agree. I mean, it's a gorgeous film, well shot, acted, etc, etc. But it did feel like it tried a little too hard, especially with the emotional material. But I'd never put it up against anything in terms of disappointment when it comes to the other films in this thread.

Spider-Man 3 still makes me sad to this very day.
