Most powerful Marvel character we have seen on screen so far?

I would say Galactus or the Surfer. Phoenix is powerful, but they never really explored the extent of that power beyond turning people into piles of dust.

I remember when I first saw Dark Phoenix's telekinesis in action with the trailers. Only, at the time, I didn't know it was her telekinesis. I actually thought I was seeing a return by Nightcrawler in X3, because it looked like his teleportation when Jean was demolecularizing those poor guys at the end.

The Surfer can do the same thing though and apparently without as much effort. We've seen what he can do when he's really trying and I really doubt that The Pheonix would have been able to do that. She was hitting Wolverine with pretty much everything she had and barely slowed him down.

Can the Penance Stare really work on someone like The Surfer who (in my opinion) didn't really kill all of those people? Sure he guided Galactus but I don't think the penance stare works on someone who just led killers instead of killed.

Remember that the Ghost Rider has to actually get close to use his penance stare and without his motorcycle, he really cannot compete with these two in the speed department. Hell, I think even The Pheonix would simply smack him away with her thoughts (everyone's forgetting she has telekinesis).

And yes we do have to go by feats because we really can't go around taking people's word for it.

Professor X probably can't do anything to the Surfer by the way. That guy had trouble with Pheonix when he was right in front of her so I think it's established that she's more powerful than him and she's less powerful than Surfer. See the Silver Surfer has actually EXHIBITED power beyond our imagination and that's what I'm talking about. The only time he showed even remote strain was when he was hit with the net and when he was fighting Galactus.

yeah, norrin is just as guilty as galactus for finding civilised worlds for him to consume, he has all those lives on his conscience and he is just like everyone else a living being.

if the pennace stare can work on blackheart, than it can certainly work on surfer, especially since he does have a soul as norrin.

it doesn't matter how much jean blasts him away, ghost rider takes it. He doesn't fatigue or injure or grow tiresome and sooner or later, he'll get jean who is heavily suceptible to physical harm on a low scale (killed by stabbing).

anyway, mesphisto still counts, his powers to create are just as powerful as galactus' and not to mention, ghost rider was unable to do anything against him while galactus was somewhat dealt with for a short time by his creation.

But the Surfer or The Hulk would not be killed by getting stabbed, and the Hulk's healing factor is faster than Wolverine's so i dont think the Pheonix would be able to kill him.

GR's Penance Stare would definately work on SS, GR used it on Galactus and practically killed him until the FF saved Galactus in the FF cartoon.

If you have a soul The Penance Stare works, simple as.

However, i dont think GR would get in the postion to use the PS on The Surfer.

well considering how close johnny managed to get to doom when he had their combined powers, i don't think this would be too much of an issue.

But Johnny had flight and invisibility on his side, neither of which GR would have. Plus SS can fly extremely fast, and Doom had only just got the powers, therefore he wasnt fully in control of them yet.

Okay so Ghost Rider's penance stare can work on these guys. They're still much, much, much faster unless GR gets on that hell cycle chasing them around going "LOOK INTO MY EYES! COME OOOON! DO IT! I PROMISE NOTHING WILL HAPPEN!" because something tells me that that chain will not work on Hulk and Silver Surfer (they'd probably just pull him and send him flying or something. GR has at least Hulk level strength but I don't think he has the weight to back it up).

So Surfer and Hulk take that and we've all established that Pheonix isn't getting too far fighting these guys that all have healing factors on insane levels. So it's down to Hulk and Silver Surfer for now. Surfer can probably just do the same thing with him that he did to Johnny Storm. Fly that sucker into the stratosphere and let him suffocate. If not then demolecularize him. Clearly Surfer can do this on a much larger scale than Pheonix (what he did to Galactus) so I think if he concentrates that all on the Hulk, the guy's screwed.

But hey, November Rain's right about Mephisto. No-one's touching that guy. He warps reality to suit his needs. Galactus probably fears him.

it pretty much lets one feel the pain of all those they have made suffer over a very very short period of time.

All those are saying the ghost rider can't catch them but ultimately he's the dude with all the chips, if he plays his cards straight, they'll come to him and then get hit with the unexpected.

regardless of what they do to him, there is no amount of physical harm that can touch him and he can't get demolecularised because that is ultimately overuling mephisto's enchantment. As long as it's dark, he's fine.

if however they get the sun out, he's screwed but how are they ever to be aware of that nature since the only one who has telekinesis is phoenix and she'd already be taken out by that stage.

Comic-wise, the Pheonix would destroy them all, except Galactus. But Movie-wise, the Surfer clearly outmatches everyone else other then a fully powered Mephisto or Galactus who arn't being counted.

But if we're talking just characters then Silver Surfer because...well...Did he even show fatigue or any sign of slowing down while on his board? I'd think if you ran at him he'd just let you get absorbed and keep flying. Not to mention Pheonix's little disintigration ability is second nature to him. He claps and an army goes flying.

GR isnt at Hulk's strength level, not even his base level before he gets angry, i doubt GR could pick up a tank the size of the one Hulk did in the movie and throw as far either.

GR's other abilities are what make him able to fight Hulk though.

we be talking about the movie hulk not the comic book one movie hulk is way weaker and Jean Grey probably could take him. Never liked the ideal GR could use penance stare on Big G. Galactus went one on one with Mephisto and GR could pull a fast one? I call BS on the idiot writers

haven't all victories on galactus pretty much been when he is weak and hasn't fed in a while. his powers seem to decrease exponentially depending on when he last ate.
