Movie Stuff You Only Now Just Realized - Part 5

Push, a movie about people with superpowers, features no less than four actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Chris Evans, Ming-Na Wen, Djimon Honsou, and Cory Stoll)

^ Totally agreed with the second part of your Sig

Captain America: Civil War and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice have even more in common than I realized. Of course they were going to come out back-to-back at the start of May before DC decided to move to March instead. So they'll be competing in any event. They both revolve around the studios' two major heroes (one a filthy-rich self-made man wearing power armor, the other a blue-suited boyscout) fighting each other. They will also both feature appearances by every other super-hero that they can possibly fit in there: DoJ will introduce Wonder Woman and Aquaman among others probably, while Civil War will have most of the Avengers (even Ant-Man) along with bad guys like Zemo, Crossbones, and Thunderbolt Ross. And that last fact makes both films essentially early installments of their respective super-duper Team-Up films for Justice League and Avengers.

Aldis Hodge played Samuel L Jacksons nephew Raymond in Die Hard with a Vengeance

Peter Saarsgard has worked with all three Amanda Wallers

CCH Pounder (Orphan)
Angela Bassett (Green Lantern)
Viola Davis (Knight and Day)

Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino are in 3 movies together, Faster, Race to Witch Mountain, and San Andreas.

Carla Gugino was in 3 Zach Snyder movies, Watchmen, Suckerpunch, and Man of Steel (voice of a Kryptonian computer).

I had noticed before that several actors (who are either Anglo-African or African natives) who would have been excellent to play Black Panther have already appeared elsewhere in the MCU: Idris Elba (Heimdall), Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje (Algrim), and Djimon Honsou (Korath the Pursuer). It just hit me that not one of those roles actually needed a black guy to play them.
And now we can add Chiwetel Ejiofor to that group.

A bit older, but apparently one of the girls from Easy Rider's "cemetary acid trip" scene was 80's one-hit-wonder Toni "Hey Mickey" Basil

Nick Fury and Victoria Hand were both in Deep Blue Sea.

(And yes, a couple other Marvel alums, but those two...wow.)

4 actors from MCU movies all have their birthdays today: Chris Evans, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgaard, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. That last one is funny too because it's also the Olsen Twins' birthday today, and their little sister Elizabeth played Aaron's twin in the MCU.

Van Damme kicks many times in Kickboxer...but only with his right leg.

Somebody see if this holds up in his other movies.

Realized this a few days ago but the young lady Neiman is interested in in Whiplash is the new Supergirl for the upcoming show.

Its been 16 years since The Phantom Menace.

That's the same amount of time we had to wait between the Original Trilogy and the Prequels.

Feeling old yet?

Wow...and the new trilogy is coming as well. Funny how that works out.

I just recently learned that Warner Brothers originally didn't want to make a Veronica Mars movie when the stars of the TV series proposed it to them, because they didn't believe that there was a large enough fanbase to support a theatrical continuation. WB didn't get on board until the stars raised $16million through a Kickstarter campaign in order to get the funds to make the film themselves. I'm not a fan of the show myself, but that there gets my respect.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes had mentioned some company or whatever named "Gensys," similar to the name of the new Terminator movie. Wasn't so stupid then, was it? /sarcasm

Apparently Freddie Prinze Jr. is or was a WWE Raw producer after quitting acting.

Big part of the reason why Star Wars hasn't suffered franchise fatigue for me.

They take, or did take a long break before a new run. Now that Disney plans on releasing a Star Wars movie every year it'll soon get tiring.

So I just discovered that Shawn Ashmore (plays Iceman in Xmen films and was in the following) has an identical twin brother named Aaron Ashmore who is a tv actor (he is in Syfy's Killjoys and was in Warehouse 13). I had no idea. So all the stuff I've seen Aaron in I thought it was Shawn.

^ You thought that was Shawn in Smallville as not-Jimmy?

He also plays Iceman at points, if memory serves. :funny:

they played brothers on a episode of Fringe where one was I think a bank robber that got caught in the 'amber' in the alt universe and the other took his place as they were identical.
