The entire idea of starwars is stolen from old sammurai movies that lucas grew up watching. the acting is hammy, people make it out to be something so much more than it is which gets really old. And lucas wanted the first three to suck as much as the 2nd, so he went back to f them up.

I thought Lucas admits that those old samurai films inspired him. I don't see the problem.

Yeah I'm only 19, but there's a big difference in terms of thought between your highschool years, at least for me there was. I mean I was such a ***** when I first started posting on the hype, way back when... Man I was 15 when I started posting on the hype, a freshman in highschool... Whew time flies...

QUID PRO QUO -- Have you even seen the old samurai flick that Lucas was referencing? Do you even know the title? How about the director? You do realize that your namesake Batman is based on the Shadow, The Phantom, Dick Tracy and Sherlock Holmes .

Well for today' standards, a new hope is just an average film. But back in the 70's there was nothing like it before definatly beyond it's time hence why it is considered a classic. Although it is the weakest of the original trilogy (jedi has more depth and emotion), it's still an awesome movie to watch.

Star wars Original trilogy is great, I wouldn't say it's the best sci-fi films though. Still very good, yes it's a little overrated, but still, it's wonderful, it's not the god of films, but very good.
