Movies you missed during their theatrical run but would like to see on the big screen

The Star Wars original trilogy is at the top of that list, easily.
Abrams Star Trek and Tron Legacy would have been nice to have seen on the big screen, just to name some newer movies.

2009 Star Trek, I'm so glad I saw that movie. I went to see it as a Sylar fan, my mom went with me because she's a Lost fan. Both of us left the movie loving it and went back the following weekend for a second showing. I personally think the first scene is one of the most emotional scenes I have seen in an action flick.

I can't think of any. And the reason is that a re-release will never have the impact of the original release. Now if I had a time machine then there's TONS I'd love to go back and see with an audience that also had never seen them. But a re-release? No, not really.

You're making me feel old. With the exception of Goldeneye, I saw all of those in the theater the first time around.

I'll be watching the SW movies, but I think the one I regret not seeing in theaters the most has got to be FOTR.

Well that's a bit further than I was thinking. Those people would probably hate those movies since their cultural content would be too far removed from what would be acceptable back then(you could barely say damn in a movie, for example). I was thinking more like taking a movie like Iron Man and releasing it in the early 1980's or releasing a film like Avatar in the 1970's.

The thing that makes me think about, in regards to "Time-Traveling" and taking movies back to the past. Would people think they were good movies? Movies that are considered bad by a lot of people today. Like Avatar. Before that concept or formula of story was ever in films. I imagine some would be find them "original" in that time and therefore be considered "good", in that particular time period. I am sure a lot of the comic book movies would blow minds.

Caught Alien and the Exorcist re-release in the theaters about 10 years. The directors cut or anniversary, something like that, can't remember why but they got re-released at the theaters!

I was lucky enough to watch Saving Private Ryan , 2001 : A Space Oddesey , Alien & Aliens , The Excorcist ( directors cut) and the Godfather when they screened classic movies here in Holland.
Sadly it didn't last long but it was worth it especially in the case of 2001 and SAving PRivate Ryan.

I see what you mean if lets say Transformers were released in the 80's it would've swept all kinds of academy awards for it's SFX achievements.
