Maybe showing more of his neck wouldn't have been THAT bad... 🤔 I should probably stop doing these but I can't help it sometimes lol View attachment 94920
Don't touch the waistline of those trunks! All tailoring science says they are perfect and that is a fact. They sit exactly on his natural waist and divide David's body perfectly in half. It is a big part of the reason why he looks so thick and masculine whereas Routh looked lanky and out of proportion with his hip-huggers in Returns.

Haha You got it

I am also a fan of the high waisted trunks. Idk man, the more I look at this suit the more I like it. This is by far my favorite live action Superman look.

People can shet on it all they want, but I think it's the best looking suit since CR's.
If I could change anything on it tho, it would be the boots and the cape attachment.

The cape attachment is really just a nitpick, I can live with it, but I really don't like the \_/ at the top of the boots.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the costume looking more like this in the sequel.

There is a part of me that wonders if we'll see Superman and his suit go through some sort of change by the end of the movie due to the original "Legacy" aspect.

Gunn mentioned Superman was battling between his Earth upbringing and Kryptonian heritage. As he was writing it, the story was Legacy and then evolved to just be Superman.

Maybe the KC logo and suit is part of that Kryptonian Legacy and it will eventually evolve to something even more traditional by the end or in the sequel.

I do think Gunn will make alterations and listen to fan feedback if a sequel is made.

"Fan feedback" has already turned around for the positive the more we've seen of the suit. As some of us predicted from Day One. The suit will inevitably change in sequels for merchandising purposes, but y'all who are still hating it best prepare yourselves - this is the suit for this movie. And plenty of folks think it's great. As long as it's attached to a great movie, there's nothing to worry about.

Your last sentence is really all there is to it and what matters.

And personally, as someone who hated the suit in the first reveal, the set pics changed my mind and I like it overall, even if there's parts that I don't care for.

The set pictures have absolutely done more good than harm IMO.

The quality of the film is unquestionably the thing that matters. If the film is on the whole, well received by the audience & fanbase, any personal preference sort of nitpicks which the likes of the suit would fall under will be severely watered down perhaps even being liked, but likewise if the film isn't well received, those same nitpicks will be magnified & overblown.

This is regular as clockwork for particularly the big CBM's, we're currently at the everything is great, everything is perfect, flowers, sunshine, rainbows everywhere phase which will probably last until the first teaser.

I suspect even for the sequels, the overall design won't change that much. Similar to how the Spidey suit in the Raimi films remained largely the same aside from a few tweaks from film to film.

Neck collar looks different again in the latest set papparazi photos. The photos of Corenswet about to take flight.

Still lamenting the shield, but they really perfected the trunks. In the full body shots we've seen, its so good seeing that block of red breaking up the blue. The colour proportions are perfect.

I bet they went through so many iterations to make sure it looks as good a fit as it is.

I hope in a couple of years Gunn will show us all the different designs they went through.

Yeah I'm hoping they go all in on a Making Of feature for the home release. Not to mention an art book.

Saw this X. All the different modern Superman suits, minus Dean Cain, throughout the years.

I know it's not popular, but man do I love the Superman Returns suit, even if it's not perfect.

Corenswet's suit also has its flaws, but Corenswet still looks so good in the red and blue.

That S&L Superman looks a bit like Chris Wood.

I don’t love the Returns suit. I actually really hate a lot of things about it lol. But there are moments in the movie when the suit looks great. There’s a richness to the cape’s color that really comes out depending on lighting and motion.
