Don't touch the waistline of those trunks! All tailoring science says they are perfect and that is a fact. They sit exactly on his natural waist and divide David's body perfectly in half. It is a big part of the reason why he looks so thick and masculine whereas Routh looked lanky and out of proportion with his hip-huggers in Returns.Maybe showing more of his neck wouldn't have been THAT bad...I should probably stop doing these but I can't help it sometimes lol View attachment 94920

"Fan feedback" has already turned around for the positive the more we've seen of the suit. As some of us predicted from Day One. The suit will inevitably change in sequels for merchandising purposes, but y'all who are still hating it best prepare yourselves - this is the suit for this movie. And plenty of folks think it's great. As long as it's attached to a great movie, there's nothing to worry about. There is a part of me that wonders if we'll see Superman and his suit go through some sort of change by the end of the movie due to the original "Legacy" aspect.
Gunn mentioned Superman was battling between his Earth upbringing and Kryptonian heritage. As he was writing it, the story was Legacy and then evolved to just be Superman.
Maybe the KC logo and suit is part of that Kryptonian Legacy and it will eventually evolve to something even more traditional by the end or in the sequel.
I do think Gunn will make alterations and listen to fan feedback if a sequel is made.

I suspect even for the sequels, the overall design won't change that much. Similar to how the Spidey suit in the Raimi films remained largely the same aside from a few tweaks from film to film."Fan feedback" has already turned around for the positive the more we've seen of the suit. I do like the adjustments to the collar and shield, but why change the trunks and belt?Maybe showing more of his neck wouldn't have been THAT bad...I should probably stop doing these but I can't help it sometimes lol View attachment 94920
I already told him that and explained why it was just plain wrong!I do like the adjustments to the collar and shield, but why change the trunks and belt?
I hope in a couple of years Gunn will show us all the different designs they went through.Still lamenting the shield, but they really perfected the trunks. In the full body shots we've seen, its so good seeing that block of red breaking up the blue. The colour proportions are perfect.
I bet they went through so many iterations to make sure it looks as good a fit as it is.
Yeah I'm hoping they go all in on a Making Of feature for the home release. Not to mention an art book.I hope in a couple of years Gunn will show us all the different designs they went through.

I don’t love the Returns suit. I actually really hate a lot of things about it lol. But there are moments in the movie when the suit looks great. There’s a richness to the cape’s color that really comes out depending on lighting and motion.Saw this X. All the different modern Superman suits, minus Dean Cain, throughout the years.
I know it's not popular, but man do I love the Superman Returns suit, even if it's not perfect.
Corenswet's suit also has its flaws, but Corenswet still looks so good in the red and blue.
