My nephew physically assaulted me.

God, even your dreams are pathetic, most people try to make a big splash in the corporate world or public service, things that bring money, power, recongonition, perhaps even a place in history itself. You want own some dinky gas station and when your dead no one will care.

I'm not interested in fame and fortune, just getting my life together.

It's a place to start and I can than be in a position to choose bigger and better businesses to buy in. Once I have a station, my plan is to learn to invest in real estate.

Running a business is a real job. It's far more real than sitting in a cube.

How long have you wanted to own this gas station?
And how long until you will?

Your working at a gas station and living your parents, that's not the life 40 year old, that's the life a 15 year old. Act your age.

I could have the money as early as June or July. I'm waiting to be able to train on Backoffice, which is the computer software that runs the station behind the scenes. I've taken the accounting courses and Simply accounting.

Aside from having the money onhand, I've pretty much done evrything that I have control over.

I only knew about the opportunity Petro-Can gives their employees about two years ago. My previous manager didn't tell me about it until he retired, biastard.

And is gas really all you want to do with your life?

Running a business and running a gas station are two different things.

I'm working at a gas station with the intent of running it. The only other way to buy into a station is to have $50,000 on hand, which is not viable.

I'm living at my parents, because renting elsewhere would make it impossible to save any money to run a station. It might suck for me to do so, but it couldn't happen any other way.

It's not any different, a business is a business. You buy a product from a whole saler and sell it at retail. You hire employees and train them to do their job.

Also, by buying into this kind of business, it allows me to look for other opportunities and build from their. Regardless of what kind of business one starts, it's gotta be started somewhere.

I was all for bashing Jonty about his little run in with his nephew, but you guys are just being complete ass holes about him wanting to run a gas station. There is nothing wrong with that.

It's also a business. It's not any different than running a pizza shop or a video rental shop.

Thanks.

I don't mind them ragging on me for either one. The difference here is that if you're just the employee, you're earning 7 to 8 dollars an hour and you don't have any responsibility outside your shift. If you own the place, it's much more time consuming because you have to run the shift as well as run the store.

Lets get three people to go to a bar, and hit on the same girl.

One says he owns a pizza place
One says he owns a movie place
And one says he owns a gas station

We'll see the outcome
