My nephew physically assaulted me.

Lets get three people to go to a bar, and hit on the same girl.

One says he owns a pizza place
One says he owns a movie place
And one says he owns a gas station

We'll see the outcome
Who will go out with the girl

If you choose none...thats right:up:

God, giving up your diginity to run a stupid gas station. Do you have a sense of a shame?

As I've said before I have no shame. You should see what I do for pennies.

Depending on the site, you can actually earn quite a bit of money. The earnings for a starter store is about 32 grand (minimal), however if you can work towards the larger sites, you can earn upwards of a couple hundred grand a year.

Also, being a manager, gives me the time schedule flexibility to develop other businesses on the side.

I'm past the reproducing stage, unless I want to rob the cradle, so to speak. So the idea of getting the girl does not hold very much interest to me.

Hey now, free movies, free pizza, or probably not free gas. We all like pizza and movies

and the pizza gives you gas, so you're getting all three.

Possible doesn't equal "guaranteed"

A station, itself, is pretty much guarenteed. The suits seem to be pleased to give me a chance.

The odds of getting a larger station is going to be dependent upon availability and my willingness to travel, which I would be of course.

More importantly, having a business in the first place would make it possible to work towards developing other businesses. So even if I'm unable to attain a larger station, having two or three other businesses on the side pretty much guarentees me the income anyway.

Unless it goes belly up, then you will really be screwed.

These retail chain stores never go belly up, because the chain has done all the proper work to ensure customer numbers and location. The worst that could possibly happen is that if I don't run it right, which I would of course, they would pull my contract and whatever money I have invested I'd get it back.

I have the experience to know that I'd have no trouble in running it properly and I'm far more responsible than most people in I've seen in running the stations that did lose their contracts.

Customer reports for junk food sales? Too damned funny to be taken seriously

Ever see the show, "King of Cars".

I'd be the Blue Genie for a couple hundred grand.

Yeah, because you have tons of experience managing stuff, right?

I've seen one episode of "King of Cars". Selling used cars isn't my kind of business, especially if people don't buy cars, you don't get paid.

I work at a job that pays me for the work I do. I don't go to my job thinking "Will I get paid today?"

It's not rocket science.

All it takes to run a station is buying supplies from wholesalers and reselling those products retail, reasonable skills in managing people and ensuring that all bills are paid.

The biggest reason that people fail in this industry is that they see 60 grand in the bank, meant to pay bills, and start to treat it as their own and suddenly they have a car that's paid for and not enough money in the bank to pay suppliers.

I'm not that kind of entrepeneur anyway. Running a retail outlet is my level of entrepeneurship.

Also, running such a business would give me the option of starting a business from the ground up as well.

It's only embarrassing if you have an overdeveloped sense of pride.

nope. i've got a feeling he's just trying to protect his conservative brethren. having said that, i do admire jonty's ambition to own his own business, but my respect for him ends there. oh yeah, man-thing is sleazy conservative tool. if only we could rid ourselves of the biggest embarassment known to u.s. citizens, the southern conservative redneck.
