Harry will not set down and sketch a costume to some snappy music or have a montage where he builds his suit for the final battle. He is 1 of 4 villians. If GG1 didn't have a montage, then GG2 won't either.

I have a pretty sound theory into why the GG2 costume in SM3 teaser trailer looks the way it does...and may not be what we get in the movie.

Remember the original Spiderman full trailer? (I wish i had screen shots of it but just bare with me). Remember the scene where Spidey is swinging in to catch uncle bens killer? In the trailer, Spiderman (Peter) is in his full and final costume but in the movie itself, Spidey is chasing uncle bens killer wearing this:

...his make shift wrestling costume.

My point? Well, my point is for some reason Sony didn't want the wrestling costume revealled to the public until the final movie was released, so they replaced the digital CGI stuntman in the uncle ben's killer chase scene, with the full Spidey costume. Maybe they did this because they didn't want non- fans to think this was actually Spideys costume from only seeing the trailer, but my point is that they may be pulling the same move with Harry's GG2 costume. They don't want it revealled at this point, so they replaced CGI Harry on the glider, with what we saw in the trailer....just like they did as i mentioned above in SM1....

But your theory is flawed in the case that the CGI stuntman used to advertise the movie was -re-modeled- for the movie itself. The Model was used as a practical test in-studio, and then when they finally got the CG right, they made the necessary adjustments. The only reason they kept his Spidey duds on for the commercials was just that....commercialism. Spidey swining in full costume is alot more easily noticed than anything else he may wear.

Why do ppl keep saying that Harry will have two costumes in the movie? Or that he'll go through a montage like Peter did in designing his GG costume? Thats not what i'm saying at all. I'm saying thta he'll have his final costume on throughout the entire movie. The studio just doesn't want it revealled yet (or the cgi is incomplete) so they gave us the shot of what we saw in the trailer. Similar to how they gave us the shots in the SM1 trailer as i descibed earlier. They showed us Harry discovering the GG 'costume' in SM2 for a reason.....

I doubt this was intentionally done to "fool" anybody. They probably didn't have the CGI done for the wrestling costume and gave the CGI character the Spidey costume just so they'd have material for the trailer.

I agree.
It is applicable, albeit a different scenario. S-M1 was attempting to display something amazing, as it was the first entry into the S-M franchise, and they had no idea how it was going to go down box office wise. Now, several million dollars later, Raimi's crew has plenty of freedom to go about business as they see fit, at least concerning these details. They didn't have to show Harry as GG2 at all. Thing is, is there anyone who won't go see S-M3 simply because Harry wasn't in the trailer? Doubtful. Seems better to reserve that for some kind of spectacular reveal.
Hell, as far as that and Venom goes, Darth Vader in costume wasn't until the last, what, 3 1/2 minutes of SW E3, and he was the biggest draw. So, I wouldn't make ANY kind of conclusion, especially that being "what we see is what we get."

i didint read all posts. just whana say that people who saw the suit already posted the description of the suit. and it looks like in the trailer.

some peopel are getting desperate right? it is what it is.


fact is that this is how the suit will look in the movie. will he have the same suit in hte final fight? i guess not. but anything can happen.

plus we see harry inth esuit. some peopel here are showing CGI spidey. but harry(the actor is in the suit.)

I think that Golgo13:The Hitman has a good theory. It seems to be very convincing. I also do recollect that Spider-Man was chasing down the carjacker in his official costume and not his wrestling costume in the 2002 Spider-Man trailer. But the Q&A has described the Green Goblin II suit that may be seen in the teaser exactly. It is one of the most reliable sources we have right now apart from what they will release at the Comi-Con in San Diego. I hope you are right, but I have feeling that this is the final costume Harry Osborn will wear. Time will tell.

Well, everybody always has some sort of point FOR or AGAINST the suit changing. I think both are feasable. To be completely honest with you nobody on this board knows for sure what could happen, so it could change, but it might not.

There is no sound evidence that proves either theory, so again, either COULD happen...you never know.

Alright alright alright, let's chart some scenarios and see the likelihood of this "theory"

1. The costume appears as is throughout the movie. The Teaser isn't lying. No need for a theory.

2. The costume used in the trailer is a stand in, and the real costume will be GG1's costume as-is. But I ask: Why hide it? People are familiar with that costume. And they are already in the teaser saying Harry becomes the Goblin. The teaser doesn't deny this, and confirms it. So, if they wanted to say in the teaser he becomes Goblin, why would they hide the original costume, which would do a better job of getting the statement across?

3. The Costume in the Teaser isn't the final suit, and hides an unseen Goblin suit. Okay. But, they're getting across that he still is the goblin right? so if they wanted to send that message but wanted to hide the new suit, why not just plug in the old one, (just like the scenario you described, where they hid the wrestler suit by plugging in the full suit.)

I think 1 is the most likely scenario.

And I must say, you dug up a great example but completely inverted it. They used the full Spidey suit to hide the wrestler suit. If this example holds, then the revearse of what you're describing would make more sense: Hiding Harry's new rough suit with the full original suit. But they showed us the rough suit anyway.

A perfectly good reason they showed Spider-Man getting Uncle Ben's killer because the suit, that he wears at the point is silly, and people want to see Spider-Manin the spidey suit, people would laugh if they saw that suit.

January or February. It was on Aint it Cool briefly before getting pulled. It also went hand in hand with a script summary from a month prior. Both were lambasted and dismissed at the time, but have been vindicated repeatedly.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a copy of either on the net anymore, but maybe you could PM someone who had the foresight to save either or both. And before you ask, no, I don't have them.
