Name That Reboot: Title Suggestions - Part 1

What should the title be? SR2 or something else like "The Man of Steel"?

i forgot who, but someone mentioned that if they plan on doing a trilogy that they should use his 3 nicknames.

Superman: the Last Son of Krypton
Superman: the Man of Steel
Superman: the Man of Tomorrow

i really love that idea

I think Nolan and Snyder would be happy to just have the official title of the film be:

"The Man Of Steel"

That's what I want the title to be.

However, WB's studio execs will most likely want the name "Superman" in there somewhere due to marketing purposes really.

Hence why the official title will most likely be "Superman: The Man Of Steel or "Superman: Man Of Steel"

No, but in all seriousness... I think they should go with Superman and have the next flick be called The Man of Steel.

The original 1978 Superman is referred to as Superman: The Movie so pretty much just 'Superman' is up for grabs.

Donner's Superman movie was called just "Superman." You won't find the words "The Movie" next to "Superman" anywhere in the movie.

if they go with the nicknames for each of the trilogy, i think "Last Son of Krypton" should be used for this film. it directly relates to his origin while "Man of Steel" and "Man of Tomorrow" are earned later on in his life.

i'd say "Man of Steel" for part 2 because when he first appears the first thing people would notice is that he's bullet proof....then "Man of Tomorrow" for the last film because they realize he's more than just a savior of the unfortunate, he holds the ideals that humanity should strive to inherit for it's own future. on top of that saving these 2 titles for the sequel sort of mirrors how the Batman is using "Dark Knight" in it's sequel titles ("the MAN OF steel/the MAN OF tomorrow)

I'm a little surprised someone with your handle would think that. They haven't used the name Batman in the last two Batman titles now. And Man of Steel is probably a lot more mainstream that The Dark Knight when it comes to a.k.a. for superheroes.

Superman: A New Dawn (once again befitting a reboot of the franchise)


Or they could just call the film Superman: I No Longer Have a Son With Lois... I think all the fans would be pleased with that one.

Then simply have the second one,

Just curious... didn't they come out a while ago and say it was going to be called The Man of Steel? Or was that still when Singer was on board?

Wouldnt be shocked if they called it superman begins. After batman its clear and to the point, plus only good things can be associated with it. I don't think they'll go with man of steel yet.
