Namor casting threads (mergedx4) Don't make anymore

yea, i dont think he could get namors body. ian somerhalder def could, plus he has the face... and i think he would look cute with wings on his feet lol

Does Namor have an accent?
He's obviously foreign, I always imaged him with a pompous voice, maybe Europeanish.

I would definitely pick jude law for the role of namor.

That's the teenage Namor though...Not a fan of that one. :( I want to see the big, manly Namor. I don't think Gerard Butler is right though, despite the body (which he just proved anybody can get a hold of with that amazing transformation anyway)...You know what's a left feild choice who I think would kick ass as Namor? Clive Owen.

...That and I dream of the day this guy meets with Ioan's Mr. Fantastic and compete for Sue.

I would like that! He would be one heck of a badass Namor.

I think Boreneaz would be a decent choice. Though, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Boreanez gets a thumbs down from me. Nnnno thanks. Not just his looks but he's all wrong for the role as an actor. Just not capable. And his voice is too small for a big guy.

The problem is this film will never get made... too many writers, too many directors, it's gonna take at least another 8 years before we even see one frame of this...

I was so surprised too cuz i was so expecting years ago to see a Namor movie before a Transformers film.

Ok forget any wrestlers for this role. Give me a break. This is the lead role in a huge franchise of at least 3 films which in scope will be on scale with something like Lord of the Rings. The last thing we need is some steroid non-acting goof from professional wrestling (LOL at Professional) to take this franchise over. Even the talk of The Rock doing this makes me sick. He's a personality...not an actor. Also some people tend to remember actors in their prime when they were younger and suggest casting them for the role. Many who have not aged well.

1. Steroids have been banned by the WWE since the '80s.
2. Most popular wrestlers are better actors than people give them credit for. They have to stay in charecter during a live show at least once a week, plus they can do their own stunts.
3. It's much harder to learn how to suplex someone without doing permanent damage, so, yes, I'd say that's very professional.

I agree with you all the way but I just don't see Batista as Namor.

The Rock should do this, the guy can act and he has the body.

Me either -I can't exactly see him being all that graceful in the water somehow.

No bodybuilders or wrestlers for Namor, please!!! - All the role requires is a good actor who has a decent build already onto which he can pack some quality muscle and yet still look lithe enough to convince the audience that he could actually move through the water faster than a sperm whale.

Not too much to ask is it?

I would rather see a real actor in this role. Wrestler's can cheapen the movie's credibility (regardless of acting skill, of which VERY few have).

Ah. That's his name. Was looking for this one. Yeah, he would make a GREAT Namor and he's probably who they'd go with, realisticly speaking and looking at the F4 cast.

He was one of the main reasons i watched the pulse remake that and Kristen Bell. :woot:

I'm gonna assume Universal lost the rights to Marvel. They can't just hold them forever and per Marvel 4 years is the maximum allowed under any contracts. Uni has had these rights too long. They'll slip back to Marvel and Namor will be added to the Merrill facility like The Hulk and Iron Man. Maybe we'll get a Defenders movie someday.

I don't know. They have a director attached who reportedly was turning in his version of the script. And if the rights reverted to Marvel they won't be able to use the script everyone was praising.

Like Cassavettes was attached to Iron Man. :) Marvel could always get the script in exchange for Uni maintaining the distribution rights. :)

How about Ian Somerhalder? He played Boone on lost. He has the face for it. He's just have to buff up some.

Hmm... I can see the physical resemblance, but I'm having a hard time judging his acting ability because I've only ever seen him in Lost and, lets face it, Boone was kind of a boring character...
