The Dark Knight Rises Nathan Jones for Killer Croc (Waylan Jones)?!!?

IF Killer Croc should be in a Nolan Batman film, should Nathan Jones get the role?

  • 100% absolutely, Croc’s last name is even "Jones"! Perfect choice.

  • May be ok, but lets check out other actors too.

  • Jones is an untalented Meathead, but so is Killer Croc so he still works fine for the role.

  • “Blech-Barf!!” no way, Killer Croc should be played by Nick Stahl and that’s it!

It's not about the comics, but if you're just gonna put a *****e bag in a suit with a jet pack, why not do that for the joker? Or the Penguin? Point being, you kinda have to take make use of the source material at least a little. Otherwise, lets put a guy in some rainbow suspenders, shorts, big clown feet and put a blond wig on his head and call him Bane. :o

Sure, you could do that, and if you explained it and why that's Bane, then I'd be okay with it. Seeing as that'd be hard to do, I doubt it'd work.

However, saying that a guy with a skin condition that makes him look like a Crocodile isn't Killer Croc because that's not how it was in the comics is pretty ignorant.

i actually wouldnt mind this. i mean this could totally work. he could be a normal looking guy with the exception that he's a big guy. but he could be doing what he does(eating his victims) as a result of the scarecrow gas back in the narrows.i can see that happening. major villain no, minor, as in he's a goon for Riddler or someone like that to try and bring gotham to its knees. i like it alot.

Given this picture, I'd say he's got probably the best look you're going to find for the character.

Having said that, I doubt he can act.

Nor do I even want to see Killer Croc.

Some people say that wrestlers can't get their job done in movies, but Sabertooth in Xmen was also wrestler.
So therefore I think Nathan Jones is won't be great, but can play pretty decent role.

Cause nothing screams "normal guy" like eating your victims.

He would be really perfect for Croc, good choice, can't see past him now. I didn't realize until someone said on another forum that he played Joshua the dog-man on Dark Angel. Liked him on that as well as Lost.

I always liked the original incarnation of Croc in the comics, the scary, smart guy trying to muscle in on the rackets, he was well scary then.
A poster over on cbr suggested Ben kingsley for DRHugo strange, another perfect casting.
If they did Croc like he was introduced originally and brought in Kingsley Strange(like he was in 'Prey' helping the cops track down BM) I would be very happy with that for the third movie.

Sabertooth is a good example.

I am not for wrestlers in as main character parts in movies. However they are fine for "character actors" in lots of roles, especially that require large sized actors, with limited speaking lines.

Sometimes, if there is a guy who just has some, and I mean a tiny bit of acting experience, if the person, who ever it is, just naturally fits a role (in this case both are former prison inmates, with almost the same name), and can basically just be them self, then you go with them.

You do not need every one to be an academy award winning actor, and for the most part, scenes are filmed a dozen times, and the best are cut out for the film on the editing table.

Nathan has been in more than wrestling, that was just a small fraction of what he has done. He wrestled in the WWE for less than a year, and 6months of that he was in training. He quit because he did not like the business in general.

He has been acting for a longer time than that, as his physical size makes him a natural pick for a lot of roles, as 6’11", and with a 350 pound frame, and build like a bodybuilder.

Lets not forget, his appearance itself distracts from any lack of talent (if there even is one). I say he should at least get to audition for the role of Croc!

He did just fine for the 5 minutes he was in TROY, if you remember the Giant who is stabbed/killed by Achilles in the opening scene.
Movies Jones has already been in:

Somtum (2008) .... Barney Emerald
Astérix aux jeux olympiques (2008) .... Humungus
The Condemned (2007) .... Petr
Fearless (2006) .... Hercules O'Brien
Tom yum goong (2005) (as Nathan B. Jones) .... T.K.
... aka The Protector (USA)
Troy (2004) .... Boagrius
Doom Runners (1997) (TV) .... Vike
Ging chaat goo si 4: Ji gaan daan yam mo (1996) .... Hit Man
... aka Jackie Chan's First Strike (USA)

They should just own up and say Zues' character from The Dark Knight is croc... or Grundy. :)

he should just be another example of the "better class of criminal", the new breed of freaks that Joker inspired.

Maybe a brief cameo: not like Scarecrow in BB, more like Scarecrow in TDK. Or like Zsas in BB.

He should be a cannibalistic enforcer like the OP said. A mercenary.

one of the best intro scenes ever

It doesnt matter who they cast as Killer Croc since if they use the character at all it'll only be in a very limited capacity... The kinda role were all the guy playin him has to do is look a bit pissed off and not blink.
They did this with Zsaz in Batman Begins and nobody complained... and let's not forget he was played by the frontman from James for cryin' out loud...
