Justice League New costume for Batman? Yes or No? - Part 1

Really?

I like the look of the suit there.

I will admit, Cav looked the best in Man of Steel

Seriously? Look at the muscle lines everywhere. Especially his legs! They're even on his boots. Looks awful to me.\

I think the big difference is that with the BvS/JL suit it looks like there is only really air brushed muscles onto the suit, instead of how they did it with MoS where they just had a very defined muscle suit underneath that made natural looking muscle definition and creases.

I find it funny how they constantly go on about how they want this world to feel real and not comic book-y, then they make the superheroes look like they've stuffed pillows in their shirts.

I can't recall anyone saying this. It not being comic booky, that is. There's a pretty clear attempt to tie it to the comics visually.

This is a behind the scenes shot. The suits tend to look different when actually lit properly and filmed.

The BVS suit had more muscle definition to be sure, possibly in part because there were more dark sequences, and it needed to be more visible as a result.

But with the possible exception of the rocket sequence, it doesn't usually come across as garishly muscular within the film itself. He's in dark environments most of the time, often in shadow or smoke, and many of the shots are from his chest up.

Henry was much bigger in BvS than MOS too though.

And Matt you just have to understand, we all have different personal aesthetics preferences. Someone might just prefer BvS suit, as I understand a lot of people do.

I love the more comicbooky enhanced muscle suit, and since I know Henry is THAT big, I think it's awesome.

Just let it be man, it is what it is.

I agree the BvS/JL suit is definitely the best due to the perfecting of the torso line detailing design, color and integration, plus the thicker belt and buckle that do their job better as well as the improve in filigree, overall design, and color, and that isn’t even including the better colors of the suit overall. Also I much prefer a massive superman.

I wonder when can they get Batman's cape to fully cover his body. It's been 3 movies (BvS, SS, JL) and 5 suits already but we have never seen him do it.

It's a bit strange considering how much cape fetish Snyder has :hmm.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I'd love for him to look like this from time to time https://www.instagram.com/p/BNZyW2vDB9a/

:hmr:

I was surprised we didn't get it at all. Snyder nailed practically every visual signature of Batman, but probably his most famous of all was sorely lacking.

It really was strange how we didn't it aye. The Cape actually looks like it's made to do that. I think the moment I would've had it for was when he walked up to dead Superman and stood with WW looking over his body.

OH BOYS!

We're all free to have different opinions

And it is in my opinion that JL Batman Suit > BVS Batman Suit

that's a good call. He did kind of look a little awkward in that scene but with the cape draped over his arms he (probably) wouldn't have.

I found this pretty neat little list with some of the special suits and armors batman has used: http://comicvine.gamespot.com/batman/4005-1699/forums/list-of-new-52-batman-special-suits-and-armors-1587518/

So far, in the dceu we've had:
The bulky, wear-and-tear technical carbon-fibre weave look.
The same suit but with armor add-ons.
An updated version of the suit that's less bulky with a slimmer cowl
The tactical suit

and that's about it if you don't count knightmare batman which was just the first suit but with a trench coat, machine gun and goggles. I feel like we'll get at least one new variant of the batsuit with every new movie in which batman has a substantial role. what kind of batsuits would you guys like to see moving forward? I'd love to see a new-and-improved, sleaker, more streamlined version of the armored suit from bvs, sort of like that "apokolips" suit which turned out to be a school project.

I'd like a slimmer basic suit for The Batman. Something built for forensics (detective vision) and stealth.

The tac-suits, armors, and their variations are for fighting aliens and meta-humans.

Exactly. Just give us back the BvS design, just slim it down a tad and maybe use the JL cowl.

does anyone else think the JL is considerably less muscular than the bvs suit or is that just me?

Do you mean in size or definition? Because it looks the same size to me but the definition isn't as prominent, especially the abs.

hmm maybe it is the same size afterall. everytime I see it, whether it's in the empire magazine pic or those 3d renderings that were published a little while ago... I always thought it was considerably less swollen-looking and huge. Maybe the ab thingies have a slimming/flattening effect? I swear the pectorals look way less huge.. I was just going to say that I had this theory that, because it's his battle-worn suit from back in the day, one could rationalize the fact that the physique is so huge and exaggerated by saying it was molded over Bruce in his prime, before retiring and entering his 40s (when age-related muscle loss kicks in). But yeah if it's the same in terms of musculature then my little rationalization goes out the window :woot:

Ugh, I can't stand those thick lines. They were on the BvS suit but very subtly and now they look really weird. I know this is a minor minor thing but, I'm gonna miss those crinkles in the fabric around the shoulders.

oh I think I know what it is. The bvs suit had those creases on it that suggested it was skin tight and adhered really tightly to Ben's actual frame. that's what it is. it looked like it clung to and outlined a super-ripped body. whereas this new one doesn't have that and it doesn't look as exaggerated to me

lol didn't see your post until after I posted mine. jinx. sort of
