new guitar

im looking at guitars for a b-day present and althoguh it isnt for a couple of months there are 2 i like alot. the 1st is a schecter and the second is and ibanez. note- i am on a budget

Get the ibanez, my friend tommy has this exact one, and i can assure you its great, its got amazing sound and its pretty light.

I'd go for the Schecter. Schecter make GREAT guitars for the money. And right off the Bat it comes with EMG HZ pickups -- the same pickups guitarists like Alexi Lihao from Children Of Bodom use. Schecter necks come very close to the feel of Gibson necks, so the neck feels very solid, and very practical. Ibanez is known for their slim necks, so this is something you might have to get used to. The strings are also three to each side of the headstock on the Schecter for well-balanced tunning stability. Both guitars are made of Basswood, so it's an even game there.

If it were my choice, I'd go with the Schecter, because it's a solid guitar with a great tone, has fairly decent EMG HZ pickups, a great neck shape, and a cool fretboard inlay.

Oooh...I'm going to have to go guitar shopping next year...acoustic though. Not that this has anything to do with this thread but I'm doing my nightly catching up in community and this thread got me excited about the prospect. Carry on.

What is your price range??? If it's pretty high get a Fender Stratocaster or a Fender Telecaster, but no Squire's cause they suck, if not get a Gibson! If your definitely getting one of those get the IBANEZ!

I say get the Ibanez. It's cheaper, more reliable, and and has killer sound. Get the Ibanez you'll be glad you did.

once i start saving more money I'm either getting a studio edition Les Paul, or the faded cherry wood Gibson SG. there soo hott and they sound amazing.

i have an ibanez ice-man (hence my user name) and an ibanez tx or ts series guitar i believe.

i had a Fender Strat Mexican series and a Les Paul imitation but i traded the fender for the ibanez and my mom threw out the imitation Les Paul for reasons unknown.
