New Joe Friday's and he attempts to explain Xorn....

In my last BOUGHT/THOUGHT, I call Xorn "The Continuity Conumdrum That Talks Like A Man", and I stand by that. Joe Q can explain it all he wants, but its still conveluted gobbledegook that was shamelessly done to revive Magneto maybe 4 months after he'd been killed. Not that anyone can ever doubt that Magneto will ever die, but the method chosen was not as wise.

Hence why Colossus' revival in ASTONISHING swallowed easier, because unlike most "resurrections", it actually WAS a resurrections; most times, a death is explained away by claiming that "oh, well, he never actually died", i.e. Magneto and Norman Osborn. It usually becomes more conveluted than just having gods or aliens or magic revive 'em. :p

Collosus' return was handled pretty poorly, though. Yeah, Marvel put up that fake Cassaday Phoenix image, but the variant cover for that issue had - you guessed ot - Piotr on the cover.
Way to spoil the big surprise. ****ing idiots.

I still find the concept that his power is having a "star for a head". Actually I find it so funny I can't believe anyone at Marvel can say it with a straight face.

you think his power makes no sense, wanna explain to me how The Sentry has the power of a million exploding suns mind you it's from a formula. MAGNETO RULES!!!

this is a perfect example of plot points that should be left alone

Ummm, they kept that pretty under wraps. It wasnt spoiled like Spider-Man unmasking or anything.

Agreed. That red-herring was brilliant. It kept fans at bay until the real resurection came. Though, I'm pretty sure it was spoiled prior to the issue hitting stands. I remember knowing before reading the issue.

I wouldn't say i like it but it floats,IMO. I just want the loose end tied. And it doesn't seem that confusing.

Yeah a couple of websites had gotten early copies of the issue, which is a normal practice.

It sucks though. That could have been huge. Like one of those comics where you start cheering or throw it down at the big reveal. But I stumbled on to it unmarked... :(

I find it funny. I was reading Lying in the Gutters over at CBR and they were talking about how Marvel was threatening to sue websites if they posted the unmasking before wednesday and the site OMG! actually complied, it wouldve been great but Marvel itself had leaked it to the NY Post that morning before everyone wnet to the comic book sotre and bought a copy of the NY Post, there it was. Great ****ing job Marvel.

They went through all this trouble to actually get the internet to to spoil it and then they themselves do it. Its ludicrous. Seriously, it wouldnt have had the same impact in the Thursday newspaper?

Unless having a star for a head explains how he did all the things he did witch are consistant with Magnus' powers this seems more like a reader attempting to gain a "No Prize" than a sebsible explanation from the powers that be. I mean, if you were to say that having a "sun" for a head gives you some kind of gravitational field that allows you to mimic magnetic powers it's somewhat believeable in a stretch the rubberband to the point of breaking way, but it still doesn't make much sense.

The main problem with that theory is that the star in his head would, obviously, have to be tiny. Thus, it would merely be a ball of over heated gas that (somehow) is capable of preforming the functions of the human brain.
