I seem to recall a comics storyline from the early 90s-- it wasn't based on any of the movies or cartoons, but it was involving recasting the events/characters in a feudal setting.. no masks, and I'm not sure if the signature weapons were even involved..

The original turtles show was a bit before my time but I use to love watching reruns of it. I thought the 03 show was pretty fun too. And the CG TMNT film was great.

I'm definitely willing to give this a try... motion capture turtles sounds interesting but I don't trust any film with Michael Bay's name on it.

I'm looking for the new show that debuts later this year on Nick as well. It looks cool.

I really like these designs...I think anyone expected the turtles to look like they cartoons should look to Transformers

Another thing that I'll be curious to see is if they're allowed to fight with their weapons or if they'll have their weapons but "improvise" with what's around them like in TMNT2 (I believe there was a studio mandate to make the action "less violent", but I'm not sure).

very true, but even in the comics and cartoons their designs have varied as well. the turtles have gone through extremely minor changes in every medium and i dont really expect that to change now, especially not to those ugly samurai turtles.

They look the same as the classic look in the new show, except just more blocky.

I am not scared...I am a fan of the 80's designs and the movie designs...I think people need to be prepared for them not looking exactly like the cartoons

Okay, I hate the heads, but I like the clothes.

The straw hat could really work well.

Bay's transformers looked great. The robots were awesome, it was everything else that sucked.

You can get away with a decent amount of violence today, so long as you don't show too much blood.
