Yeah, he doesn't strike me as having any particular style, he just knows how to do action and some bromance stuff maybe. That's probably what TMNT needs, but he's not really standing out per se.

Its funny though in video interviews, Jonathan comes off as a very smart guy who is well versed in pop culture. It makes me think he's better off as a producer type than a director. I think he thinks he's more capable than what he actually is: a journeyman.

That being said, the first live action TMNT film was directed by the dude who did Coneheads and the movie ended being really respectful and good. Maybe it was a happy accident, I don't know but I hope Liesbman steps it up for Ninja Turtles.

I am curious to see how they will handle the turtles' "profile". In the 1990 movie, I seem to recall that the turtles kept a pretty low profile. But we live in a mass media dominated time. Will it be like Spider-man where they become front page news?

Because theyre ninjas, I doubt it. I wouldn't mind seeing Donnie as the modern geek where it's now cool to be nerdy. While its hinted in the cgi film, the IDW comics does a good job of portraying Donnie as a little abrasive due to his ego.

The funny thing is they could probably walk around modern-day New York City, and get little more than a few curious stares.

When they filmed Star Trek (in one of those episodes where they go back in time) they were surprised that no one seemed surprised, or asked them about the costumes and strange make up they were wearing.

He's the only choice for Stockman.

Yeah, his performance on Breaking Bad is effing brilliant and gives a lot of the qualities I'd like to see in Stockman. I could see him not wanting the role though, which would be sad.

There are stories of the Turtles walking about at Costume balls and no one notices them. Even in the first film, Raph is walking about NYC in a trench coat and New Yorkers did notice him but utlimately didn't seem to care.

In the 80's cartoon the turtles would walk around with masks that made them look like regular people so maybe they will work that gag into this movie.

Well, the good thing about having a big budget. Even with inflation, the first movie had a very limited budget. But now they can show the turtles move across the city, and include major landmarks like in the cartoons, or TMNT. Jumping across rooftops, or swimming through the sewers / rivers of New York. Especially if they're CG.

They might film it in Toronto, but have aerial a shots of NYC. It's annoying only when you can totally tell it's Toronto, like in Kick-Ass.

Dont forget the hat. That's what made him incognito. :o

These days wearing a trenchcoat and fedora would probably get you more stares than being an anthropomorphic turtle.

As long as you pop up the trench coat collar you're fine. Instantly unrecognizable.

They aren't stand-ins. Just two completely different characters.

I know. But in a Turtles movie, for all intents and purposes, they'd just be a Bebop and Rocksteady stand in.

i watch that show castle and i just put on the new episode, i never put it together but its daughter alexis ( molly quinn ) would make a good april she plays a 17yo on the show

How old are we wanting April to be in this thing? If it's a reboot of sorts, is she in her late teens, in college, early 20s, etc?

She should be in her 90's. The comedic scenarios would be hilarious.

molly quinn could play early 20s, i imagine april as a news intern / investigative journalist in training

I don't see how that is so. They wouldn't be goons who work for Shredder.
