"Complaining fans," "whiny fanboys" tomato-tomahto. That was your intention with that dismissive post.
If I wanted to call them "whiny fanboys" I would, I I wanted to call them "complaining fans" I would. However I said,
No matter what they come out with fans will complain. Not the same thing unless you are in a particularly over sensitive state of mind imo.
My intent is my own, not yours to do with as you see fit. If my suggestion that fans will react as they often have leads to you taking that as me calling them whiny, that's you. I'm just suggesting that fans will react as they often have.
I would go on, this production is in a precocious situation of not having proven itself, it also has the benefit of not having to expose all it's cards on set photos. I suggested that they save all their imagery till the best possible time(a trailer), for early leaked work without context is sure to not impress(see shredder photo). Release something now:
The general public:
1. Won't care about leaked genre imagery.
2. Won't make their opinions known either way(see the GA's reaction to the van).
The fanboys:
1. Will complain(see underwear free superman).
2. Won't complain(as has not been the response to pretty much every development of this film however inconclusive).
Just don't see the point. Even if fans embrace them. I would add,
JJ did the same with the trek suits the first time around. Don't expose what you don't have to.
I wonder why. She's not that great.
Neither was the original but then again, that's my opinion. Not some
fact. Plenty of people think otherwise.
Taking liberties and completely changing source material are two vastly different things. Even in all your intentional obtuseness I'd assume you'd understand that.
Like I said, four turtles, a rat, an ally in April, enemy in Shredder, the foot. Ignoring the presence of all these elements is what I would call being "obtuse" or at the very least hyperbolic. I don't see any "completely changing" here. Having the turtles be a bunch of guys in hockey pads fighting a group of Decepticons would warrant such a statement. This so far is what I would describe as liberties.
Looking at April's origin in the original source material and Splinter's origin in the original and new animated series, vs what they have been in the feature films, liberties will be taken. I suppose it's up to us to pick and choose what we want to consider, "
completely changing source material".
Except for the people that were upset a latin actor wasn't cast in the role and all the people that continuously mock the hard-to-understand Bane voice and accent.
I see, those people. I suppose I spoke too soon when I said everyone. I mean, to this day there are people that speak out against the recent joker wearing face paint. Can't please everyone I guess, however there is something to be said for the people that were pleased, there seems to be a good amount.
If this production finds itself in the same position of pleasing some and not pleasing others in such a way, I'd consider that a success. Funny enough it all comes back to the accurate statement I initially made:
...fans will complain.
