This is not fan art just so you guys know. I thought it was at first, but its actually an official poster. Bill posted it himself. It seems like the movie is coming to comic-con also if you look at his tweet.
maybe I'm wrong. I think I might be jumping the gun a little bit. Yeah nvm I think this is fake LOL.
if they thought about including her in New Mutant that very much likely means they won't be making the X23 spin off with Mangold since that would pretty much take the character and just throwing her into another movie and then expecting Mangold to be like oh ok sure il continue on from where you took my character even if it conflicts with what i set up.
Not to take sides about what I believe or dont believe but did you really just pull the Fox wouldnt do that as that would mess up with continuity card?

I'm new to the idea of Fox throwing characters from one spin off into another spin off. especially if its not a rebooted version.
Really putting X23 into New Mutant would pretty much say Mangold isn't making his X23 movie and that FOX have given up on that project. since chances are FOX would put the character on the shelf if they really were keen to get that project off the ground.
Even if you argue that FOX don't care about continuity that is fine... but they haven't shown this keenness to cross over character just because they can.
Fox picks and chooses what makes sense continuity-wise. So in a way you can be right. They may be fine with 2 Calibans, 2 Yukios as long as its rebooted.
Using the same X23 in two different movies, possibly decades apart might be a bridge too far.

]QUOTE=slugzilla;36776205]Don't know about Dark Phoenix at Sdcc, kinda doubt it though. New Mutants is a definite No.
Not sure what reddit leak you are referring to.

X-Men are like Avengers status at the beginning of the film (which feels really unearned) astronauts at risk of dying in space (literally the atmosphere not space) due to some cosmic waves.
X-Men save them but Jean gets hit by waves. They return and she starts freaking out about her powers.
The movie begins with young Jean getting in a car crash with her two parents.
At this point after the rescue we find out that her powers were responsible and she feels guilty for killing her mother. We find out that her dad is still alive though so she escapes the mansion all emotional to go find him.
When Jean got hit by the cosmic rays she sent the spaceship flying into space and somehow it f***ing lands on an alien planet. The aliens look at the wreckage and go f*** it this means war. Let's go get the Phoenix force. That's literally their whole motivation.
Jean finds her dad and she gets pissed that Charles lied to her about her parents being dead. But Charles lied because her dad didn't want her anymore. When she finally realises all of this she almost kills her dad but the Xmen come to save her. She is really edgy at this point.
She kills Mystique by accident. Beast gets all mad because he loved her. Beast goes to find Magneto for help to defeat Jean. Charles takes the rest of the team to get to Jean before the aliens and Beast/Magneto can.
Movie is so boring I'm sorry if this isn't the best description but the movie ends with a CGI battle and its not very exciting because the aliens look boring and have generic levitation powers (they do shape shift into humans but they LOOK NOTHING LIKE SKRULLS AND THE WORD SKRULL IS NEVER SAID).
There is an alien invasion and Jean flies into space and gives up all her powers to destroy the fleet. The end.

2 Gambits wouldn't be bad though. Tatum in the past and someone a little bit older in the future.
Also, Wolverine and X-23/Laura age much more slowly than other mutants do. Jackman's always portrayed Wolverine throughout the films, regardless of the year they're set in.

Coming in I was most excited to see all of the interaction between these two. While I still kinda liked it just cuz its Jean & Scott, Sheridan seemed bland, and Turner seemed almost disinterested. Hopefully that will be fixed during the reshoots cuz I really want to enjoy the final product.
From what I have heard, Fox is indeed desperate to put her into a team movie. As there was apparently some concern about whether she could carry a movie by herself. Combine that with what I'm hearing about X-Force being the last Fox X-Film after Dark Phoenix, and the fact that X-23 has been on the team in the comics, I was simply speculating & making an educated guess about her being in X-Force.
To clarify I never said that the New Mutants would be in the X-Force movie. I simply relayed what I had heard from one of my buddies at Fox. That there was talk of possibly including some of the New Mutants in X-Force.
