New Mutants New Mutants News and Discussion - Part 2

Thanks for helping me out there everyone. :yay:
My friend first told me it was fine to post about that and then called me up a couple hours later asking me to delete the post.

In other news, there continues to be no actual movement whatsoever in the production/filming of New Mutants. While it may be "business as usual" everyone involved knows the film will not see theatrical release.

With that in mind I wouldn't be too surprised if we start to see more people that worked on the movie start spilling the beans in the near future.

JB rubbed a lot of good people the wrong way and soon enough everything that happened is going to come out.....

The trailer rubbed me the wrong way. Looks nothing like the comics.

It's possible there could be some minor reshoots if the status of the film changes. It kinda depends on what if any platform Disney decides to release it on.

They are considering multiple options about a possible non theatrical release, but I wouldn't count on it based on the general internal disdain for the movie and their strong interest to reboot asap...

Does anyone else remember that time when I told you guys that I had heard that none of the announced & rumored Fox X-films would see theatrical release, but that it was possible Dark Phoenix could still be released in theatres?

That was months ago, and pretty much every so called insider & every site that wrote about my scoop essentially said it was ridiculous & called me out as a lying shyster. Y'all remember any of that?

And here we are now, with the Disney/Fox deal likely finalized in January 2019 & suddenly what was then called out as bs is playing out as I heard it would. Strange how that works isn't it?

Well didnt people Xpect for the U.S. Government to approve in mid 2019 yet it was approved months ago.

Disney-Fox Merger: Combined Box Office Strategy Begins
In recent days, 20th Century Fox has been quietly rearranging its release calendar, no doubt in anticipation of the $70 billion-plus Disney-21st Century Fox marriage.
Federal regulations prohibit Disney and Fox film executives from directly coordinating their efforts during the merger process, but the proverbial handwriting is on the wall.
Fox isn't expected to have the same volume going forward. Nor is it clear how many films from the various Fox brands will directly feed Disney's streaming services.

Condolences.

On another note, I am willing to bet that Dark Phoenix and NM (if it is released at all) will premiere on Netflix.
Just a hunch, I can see them as quid pro quo for Netflix letting go the Defenders characters streaming rights early.

Looks like reshoots for New Mutants are starting up. I guess the cast should be showing up soon.

Maisie Williams has theater show til nov.24 in london. and henry Zaga will soon filming Trinkets.
and I see zero mention of reshoot in Ig, tagged that same place.

For further evidence Christopher Marc put out a vague tweet about new mutants yesterday and Usually when he does that means there's new coming or somethings going down. If you don't know who Christopher Marc then Im pretty sure he's the owner of omega underground which is not always a reputable source but they do have a decent track record on their sources. I can't for the life of me post the tweet tho.

Does it matter though if they go ahead with reshoots? Just save your coins FoX.

Has a budget estimate been released for this thing? The impression I got from the decidedly low-rent looking trailer is that Boone was given the typical low-to-medium budget Fox allots to its productions. It's hard to imagine anyone still at the studio ponying up more money to "finish" NM, considering the situation. Never throw good money after bad, as the saying goes.

From Disney's point of view, letting Dark Phoenix open and close quietly and New Mutants sink without a trace would be in the best interest of the franchise as it joins the MCU. The sooner these movies fade from the scene, the sooner Feige & co. will be able to reboot them. By the time the deal clears regulatory hurdles, Fant4stic will be four years in the rearview mirror, making it that much easier to get a new version off the ground. With these last Fox-Men movies clinging to Marvel Studios' heel like used toilet paper, Feige may feel the need to let the franchise lie fallow for a few years before even starting to reboot it.

Yep.. He's in it. And I'm going to tell you all who's been cast to play him ahead of anyone else.....

lets hope it doesn't come off as a knockoff.
but wait A4? no way.
