Looks like a tv movie. Anyway, can't wait that the final foX Marvel is gonna be released, so the X-Men Marvel Studios era will finally begin.

It looked nothing like a TV movie. You are so determined that this movie will be awful but there are a few people in here (myself included) that are looking forward to it being released.

Well I'm entitled to my opinion and it does look like a tv movie eXpecially compare to the recent MCU films. I didn't tell anybody to not look forward to it. You can watch it how many times you want in the theater, and I ain't gonna question about it.

Feige has plans for the neXt five years and I doubt it includes a sequel to this.

I joined this group to get involved with the speculation and anticipation in new movies but there is a lot of negativity in these forums with posters determined to lower the mood and complain about how bad everything is before they have seen anything.

This will be my last post and Im leaving to find another site where there are more likeminded people looking to share they’re excitement for upcoming movies rather than just come on here to dump there hatred for the franchise.

Does this movie even have a shot of outgrossing the lowest mcu film in North America? I don't think so.

it's budget is about three times smaller than Incredible Hulk, which only made $134M in the US, so it'll be more profitable than that no matter what it does. There's a lot more excitement about this than Dark Phoenix and they haven't properly revealed Demon Bear and Lockheed yet. If the movie is decent they totally also have a shot at the US box office of Thor / Cap and Antman. While, again, being much cheaper and thus more profitable.

The trailers for this film can barely catch up to the view count of Dark PhoeniX's trailers, meaning there's lower buzz for this.

And it doesn't matter if its low budgeted, its probably lower budgeted in the first place as foX didn't think it deserved more budget and that they've always been hella thrifty.

His mixed Brazilian. His father is Black Brazilian. The first issue of the New Mutants has Sunspots powers manifest when he is racially abused in a soccer game.

The director claimed he struggled to find Brazilian actor of African heritage although there are some actors around.

British Alfred Enoch (Harry Potter franchise/How To Get Away With Murder/Sherlock) for example is of Afro-Brazilian heritage and speaks Portuguese.

Sunspot being drawn to look less biracial in more modern comics has been a bit of a hot topic for a while online.

The trailers for this film can barely catch up to the view count of Dark PhoeniX's trailers, meaning there's lower buzz for this.

You can literally take just about any react channel on YouTube and you'll see the difference in their response to DP and TNM. It's not just about numbers either. The X-Men Apocalypse teaser trailer is the most viewed on Fox's YouTube channel, beating Deadpool, Logan and Deadpool 2. You know how that turned out box office wise. Finally, you really can't compare a trailer that's been out for a day to one that's been out for ages. This has between 5 & 6 million total YouTube impressions on day 1. That's more than enough for a movie that most thought was dead just the day before.

Of course it does. This is a number game. If Incredible Hulk was made on a 40M budget, it would be considered a smash hit. Whereas if Deadpool movies cost between 200-250 each, Disney wouldn't have welcomed those with open arms.

I will add the caveat of "if the movie itself gets decent ratings" which will obviously be the deciding factor, but sure. Even if they would've shelved New Mutants completely instead of releasing it, it would be more profitable (read a smaller loss) than Fant4stic and DP.

Some people really have nothing going on in their life and need to fill that with being whiny online. Whiny about something that they can easily avoid if they wanted to. This is a prime example. You're not going to get any intelligent convo or actual constructive points on their negative feelings on the movie and it's just feeds into them.

I really don't understand why some people are so salty and pissy about this movie. From some of the people on here and even DoubleToasted had in their thumbnail "Who gives a ****" for their trailer reaction. And all their points were basically: It's FOX, It's not Marvel, It was delayed, this looks like a TV movie.

Like did someone involved with New Mutants do something to y'all personally?

Again I get not liking this movie. Im not even sure it'll be any better than average. But the convos around this is so weird and filled with vitrol for a low budget, lesser known CBM property

Exactly, they could have easily casted a black actor for role, especially since Sunspot's mutation was triggered by a racial incident.
